How do you reset the DirecTv receiver?
There are 3 ways that a DirecTV receiver can be reset, or " rebooted".1. Every current model has a red reset button. The hr34 and hr44 genie models have it inside the access card door, which is spring loaded. Just press the panel and it should pop open , then press the button to begin the reboot process, which may take up to 6 minutes. The hr54 genie which is the most current model, has the red reset button located on the right hand side as you face the receiver, by the access card slot.. The h44 genie lite and all client models have the reset button on the outside right hand side too.2. Pull the power cord from the back, wait ten seconds , then plug it back in. We technicians call that a " hard reset", and it aso reboots the receiver.3. Press and hold down the blue DirecTV power button in the front of your receiver.Hold it for twenty seconds. This is going to restore your receiver to factory settings, so don't try this unless you don't mind losing any customized things like your playlist, favorites, screen preference, parental locks, etc.I hope this helps !
Why on my Direct Tv I can't see the screen anymore it turned blank?
In addition to what the previous person, I have seen my dad's DirecTV HD box crash, and the video would go blank. Resetting the receiver fixed the problem. I don't know which box you have, but on my dad's box, the reset button is behind the door that covers the subscription card slot. When you reset it, it takes a few minutes as it scans for the satellite signal and other stuff. Everything was automated. I didn't have to touch the remote. Just had to wait. Afterwards, all was back to normal. I don't know how the procedure may vary from box to box. I've only had to do this once on the box my dad current has. I don't know the model number. It's silver with blue lights. Card slot is on the lower right front. I admit that what I did was a lucky guess. After checking everything else, I was at a complete loss as to what was wrong. I saw that little red button and thought "Why not?"

My tv has a green tint to the picture..there is no reds or yellows showing..sometimes the color will work?
There are a few things that can cause this... If no reds or yellows are showing it sounds like there is some kind of issue with the Red line (without Red, yellow will show up green Red + Green = Yellow which could be why your getting a green tint). Is this green tint and yellow only showing on certain channels or is it on all of them. If it's on certain channels is it an A/V channel (like a SCART/RCA, HDMI or RGB in). If it is only on one of the A/V channels and not affecting things like TV on the RF channels then you've probably got a loose or damaged cable somewhere. Check all the SCART sockets and RCA sockets are pushed in firmly to the TV and making good contact. If the Red pin on a scart socket or RCA socket isn't making proper connection then you can end up with incorrect colour. If it's on all channels including RF (if it's not a digital TV and you can't get anything on RF, just put it on RF anyway and check to see if you get a green tint in the "snow"), then chances are either the red tube is going or gone, or somewhere along the lines the red tube is not receiving the proper colour information. If it is this case then this is a serious problem and you will need a qualified TV engineer to look at it, if it is a CRT TV under no circumstances should you start prodding around in there trying to fix it yourself. Even when those things are switched off and unplugged they still have very high power capacitors within there (some of the early models were referred to as "the widowmakers" they were that dangerous!). My dad was a TV engineer and even he managed to get himself thrown across the room a few times by touching the wrong part in a TV. If it's an LCD or LED TV then it's most likely to be a duff cable somewhere, failing that it could be the microchip gone that controls the red LED/LCD's. LED and LCD TV's are not as dangerous as CRT's to open up, but still not recommended unless you know what you are doing (you'll probably do more harm than good), and if it's Plasma certainly call a TV engineer out as they also use very high voltages.

It sounds like you deleted ch 3 from the channel list. Rather than trying to manually reset it, I would just run the TV's auto channel search function. Let the TV reset the list. Make sure the cable box is turned on. You can run the channel search from the TV control panel without the remote control. Start by pressing the menu button and locate the channel settings tab. You can get the full instructions from your owners manual if need be. If you don'tt have the manual, try going to the website of the company that made the TV. Find the owners manual for the model TV you have. Typically you will need adobe reader, (you can get a free download of the reader from adobe) as they are usually made available as a .pdf file.
RCA D52W20 bad picture quality?
I purchased a used RCA D52W20 from craigslist last week. I went to look at it and it looked great. Brought it home and i noticed very little blurry'nes. It's very hard to notice but I did notice. And its almost impossible to read the smaller letters. I do not have the remote and the menu button on the TV is useless, the only picture setting is to turn up black level, sharpness(I tried) and other color things. The last HDTV I had was a newer slim TV that fits on a wall. That remote had 'Gaming Mode' and ' Aspect Ratio' and some other things. I am wondering if this TV i have is stuck on some stupid setting that i cant reverse due to no remote. (I can buy one, but i want to make sure that, that is the problem before i go and spend $30). The cable TV is exactly the same, i cant read the smaller letters. however, I can read the Guide and i can read the Info on a show im watching. but i couldnt care less about that, I can upgrade to HD channels from my Cable provider if thats the reason. I am a HUGE Xbox360 gamer and I bought this TV to play the new released games and I cant read the information i need cause the quality is so poor. i can play the game just fine, but when it comes down to focusing on smaller letters, forget about it. My TV does not have a HDMI input, but does have the HD Red, Blue, Green, White, and has a DVI input. So I went ahead and purchased a DVI to HDMI male to male from Amazon to see if this will enhance the quality(This is a HDTV and im currently running on basic A/V cables for my xbox, and Basic non-HD channels for cable, can that be the reason?) The cord will be delivered on the 15th. So lets hope that me not having HD cables is the reason for poor quality. I do not know anything about a TV or any of the inside functions.
