In theory, it is, technically, possible to recover deleted items via backups if you are a Yahoo engineer, but they won’t do it. Nor should they. Not on an individual basis. The backups are for “disaster recover”. (ie, a server worth of email accounts goes down).And don’t listen to the other spam posts pushing “hacker” services. They won’t, and can’t, help you.There are technical aspects that make email inbox recover difficult within the yahoo infrastructure and architecture that makes it not a “just undelete that email, and that one there” situation. Why does my Yahoo email account think I have 2 unread messages that aren't there?
It has been this way for months & it is driving me crazy. It doesnt show them on the main yahoo page, but when I goto my mail page it always shows 2 more unread messages that I actually have. Or it shows 2 unread if I have no unread messages. Is there a way to fix this? And yes, I have checked completely through the old messages, there are no unread ones. Thanks for any help.

Any mail received from an address that has been blocked, is deleted immediately upon arrival at your account. It's long gone, sorry. You can unblock that address---but you can't "un-delete" those emails.
How do I delete all **UNREAD** emails at once?
Just under the word INBOX, there are a set of links to View All, Unread or Flagged. Click Unread. Then at the bottom, just above the Delete button, is a link that says Check All. Click that will tick the checkboxes on all the mail on that page, which is the unread ones. Then click Delete. You need to do this for each page of them, separately. To speed things up, first go to Options (top right) then General, and choose from a drop-down box to display 200 emails to a page. When you've finished them you can set this back to about 25 per page, which is a good size for actually seeing them.
