How Do I Split A Cable To Attach Two Subwoofers

If my speakers has a left and right RCA output but the subwoofer only has one RCA input, will the setup work?

So, your source has L/R RCA output, so unless you use a Y-splitter to combine the two signals into one, then you’ll hafta pick L or R to plug into your subwoofer amp. This shouldn’t be an issue, as the low frequency bass should be present in both L/R channels due to its low localization.

Installing 2 amps to 4 subwoofer?

Well if your after market head unit has two sets of RCA outputs on the back you can buy a wiring kit made for 2 amps from many places I got mine from Wal-Mart and it is a 1400w kit for 2 amps. It comes with a large power cable I think its 6 gauge that runs from the battery into a 100amp fuse then into a splitter than splits the wire into two 8 gauge wires that each run to an amp. The kit comes with two RCA cables each cable with a red and white male plug on each end. Run each cable from the head unit to one of the amps. The kit comes with one Ground wire but it is long enough you could just cut it into two pieces and use each off the same or seperate ground sites. The kit comes with 1 remote wire that you'll have to run from the head unit to the amps then split it into two wires before running them to the amps so that both recieve the signal. Now if your head unit only has one set of RCA outputs you will only use one of the supplied RCA cables then have to purchase a set of RCA Y-Cable splitters seperately one for red and one for white then add them onto the end of the RCA's that connect to the amps. Be sure to get the ones that are female-in male-out. Then you said you know how to wire the speakers them selves so good luck hope I could help! The kit is made by Scosche I think they make larger than 1400w kits.

Do "Y" cables make subwoofers sound better?

Assuming you are talking about the “Y” cable for the AV cords, then no. All it does is pass the audio through to the back of your car. It actually may distort the quality of the sound. Probably not enough that you would personally notice. The “Y” AV cord is mainly for use when installing two different amps. Which, assuming the fact that you are asking this question, you probably don't need a setup like that.In my 2007 MazdaSpeed 3 (hatchback) I had two amps (1200 watt, and 2400 watt) powering; Two 12″ Sony XplodesTwo 12″ Brutus competition subsTwo 12″ Fusions

What is the difference between RCA and LFE subwoofer cables?

The Low Frequency Effect (LFE) jack IS a RCA jack. Any long RCA cable will work.

Note: You should also go into the receiver setup menu and tell it that you DO have a subwoofer attached and that all your other speakers are SMALL. This will force it to route all the low-frequency sounds and the ".1" track to the subwoofer.

Help hooking up another subwoofer?

There are no line level outputs on the Sony HT - Setc. The only way to do this is to cut the speaker wire going to the sub and attach it to the Kenwood sub's LFE speaker level input - running another wire, probably spliced for length, to the Sony sub. If you don't have the skills to cut, strip and splice wire, don't do it.

How to connect Subwoofer to Receiver?

How CAN I connect my Subwoofer PSW10 (http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-10-Inch-Monitor-Subwoofer/dp/B0002KVQBA) to my receiver (http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AVR-1513-Channel-Through-Receiver/dp/B007R8U5VM)

I know how to connect with speaker wire, but I would like to connect it to my receiver's Subwoofer output. But, the subwoofer lacks a subwoofer input. It only contains a RCA Left/Right. I can not find any Male RCA to Male Subwoofer cables.

I would rather have it attached to the Subwoofer input of the receiver so I can modify the settings for the subwoofer SPECIFICALLY.

Thanks

Is it possible to connect an unpowered (no AC cable) subwoofer to a Yamaha RX-V483 AV receiver? If so, how?

Is it possible to connect an unpowered (no AC cable) subwoofer to a Yamaha RX-V483 AV receiver? If so, how?Possible? Anything is possible. But the probability for it to work as you expect it to work is about none. You may try a very efficient loudspeaker system that will “demand” less power for it to work, such as a vintage horn systemBut, even if you were able to find a very efficient loudspeaker you would still need a crossover (low pass filter) circuit in order to separate the low frequencies to the loudspeaker. And you most likely would have impedance issues with your receiver. Adding more speakers to the output of the amplifier needs some consideration if you want the receiver to last. And it would be difficult for you to “tune” the system without some form of “subwoofer control” .When you say “…an unpowered (no AC cable) subwoofer…” what you mean is a subwoofer with no amplification or a passive subwooferYou can find some of these around for home setups from brands like Canton such as the one in the image above and its connection would be something like this:Bear in mind that the connection diagram above is for a passive subwoofer that has been specifically designed for the purpose. The best thing for you to do is to buy a cheap subwoofer amplifierand connect it to the “sub out” from your receiverSo, yes, it it possible. But it is also kind of pointless because it will probably not work very well.

Polk Audio PSW10 Subwoofer?? Can you hook it up to a pc?

Yes, if you have plain analogue stereo speakers.

You use a 3.5mm stereo Y splitter cable to split PC audio to your normal speakers and the subwoofer, and a 3.5mm to RCA cable to go from the splitter to the subwoofer RCA in.

Home theater subwoofer connections?

I have a sub out on my Denon AVR 1804 receiver, and want to plug in the sub from my KEF KHT 2005.2 5.1 system. What sub cable do i use to get from the sub out (1 RCA style connection) to the sub that has a left and right in (red and white) it seems i need an RCA style cable with males on each end, and a subwoofer cable has just one connection on either end...

Suggestions? what cable? where to get it?
