Sounds like your E-mail account has been compromised, or you picked up a virus, Arurs. Immediately have your computer checked for a 'bug' or 'bugs.' If you have the proper programs, do the scans yourself, if not you need to take your computer to some one who can. Once it is clean of pests, install a firewall and an anti-virus program if you do not have one yet. I strongly recommend a program for malware and adware also. After you finish this, then go in and change your password, using a good strong one. Also, check your account information and make sure no information was changed, if it was change it back immediately. Then, you will have to inform your contacts that it was not you sending that mail, but they need to check their computers in case they were also infected.

One other possibility could be that it is phishing spam. If there is a link in the email that outwardly displays as amazon.com/blah-blah-blah, place your cursor over it without clicking. Look at the URL displayed in the task bar below. Is it still for amazon.com or a different domain?

Stop signing up for them!!! j/k But for real, just get a new email address, and then in a year when it starts up again, get another new email address. Switching isn't as painful as it sounds in most cases. Also have a free email account (gmail or yahoo) that you use to sign up for random online things, that way you never have to worry about getting that junk mail in your regular account.

Is the email actually being sent from your account? Check your recent "sent" emails. Do you see any of those emails in the sent folder? Check the email's details. If it's Gmail, try clicking the "show original" link. You might find some useful information in there... Otherwise.. It's just computer trickery.If these emails ARE in fact being sent from your account, you can try stopping it by better protecting your account. Change your password and set up 2 step verification or something. If they aren't being sent your account, it's going to be nearly impossible to stop. Prevent Google Play from sending email?
I continue to get email sent to my Driod cell phone from Google Play. I value my privacy and would like, very much, to stop these message from being sent to my phone. However, I have not been able to figure out how to stop Google Play emails from being sent. I cannot reply to the email (it bounces). The email states that I've asked for this service. Well, if I did then I did not do so intentionally. I suspect that I might have installed an app on my Droid phone and that might have created/caused Google Play to send me email messages. If that is the case then I'm sure I simply didn't see the fine print explaining this. I don't know. At this point I'm likely to never use applications for my Driod given the annoyance and amount of time/effort expended in trying to stop spam. Back to the question: How do I remove and/or prevent Google Play from sending messages to my gmail account?
