I accidentally told my brother i cut...?
Please don't comment on my drinking habits, I am underage, but I don't drink often at all. So im 14 and my step brother is 16. He and I had a few very close friends over, and decided it would be fun to get drunk. Yea yea, I know I shouldnt be drinking. I know how bad it is. So, before I continue, I will tell you why i made the idiotic decision to cut. My dad has been ignoring me/ hating me for the past two years. He and my mom divorced when I was a baby, so my mom married this guy, Glenn. Long story short, He cost my mom and I a 250,000 dollar hospital bill, and we are living in my grandparents house. My mom met this guy, Brian, who was super chill at first, but is actually verbally abusive and crazy. He has a son, Conor. We're really close, and he's my step brother. He is the only person in my family that I talk to on a daily basis. I was bullied a lot during school, and people started to tell me to cut myself, so, i did. I have been cutting for six months. When i got drunk with my step brother and friends, i started to cry. My best friend asked me why, and I told her everything. Conor was listening through the door. He came in and i started to sob even harder. He was hugging me but i could tell he was really mad. We got drunk again last night, and i went in the bathroom and started to cut. I came out and he made me show him my wrist. I dont know... He's trying to get me to think he is not mad. I feell like im a burden to him, and hes my best friend. I dont want to lose him. Can somebody please help?
My friend accidentally cut her leg using gym equipment. Is she at risk for HIV, Hepatitis, or other diseases?
First, if in case I offend anyone here, it was not my intention, and I apologize ahead of time in case I do. Also, mature answers are appreciated. So my friend was trying to climb up on an Elliptical machine at the gym, right after someone else had used it. However, she accidentally slipped and scraped her shin against the foot pedal of the machine. She then got a fresh cut which was bleeding and looked quite deep. Two minutes later, while her cut was still bleeding, all I could find in my backpack at the moment was one bandage and some anti-bacterial hand wipes, so I used the wipes to help clean her cut and then applied the bandage. My main concern is, what kind of diseases might she obtain since the foot pedal of the elliptical scraped through her skin? Is she at risk for HIV or Hepatitis? More details: -Although the pedal did not look heavily tainted with body fluids (ex: blood, sweat), and seemed to be dry, I am still concerned with the tiny germs and impurities that lay on the foot pedal, since other people have used it. -She also complained of a stinging sensation from the anti-bacterial wipe, before applying the bandage. Forgive me, I am not sure if it was smart or not smart to use the wipe, but it was all I had at the moment. A finger got cut off accidently, is there a way that it will be sown back together?
Usually, if you put the finger on ice and get to the hospital quickly they can sew it back on.
How will you give first aid to your friend who has cut his finger with a blade?
First stop bleeding by applying pressure with cotton.If it's a small cut apply bandaid and take TT injection.If it's a cut requiring sutures go to doctor immediately.If whole finger is cut take the cut finger and put in an ice pack and rush to hospital immediately and consult a microvascular surgeon to reattach the finger.
I accidentally cut myself with someone's/rusted razor? Am I at risk for HIV and Hepatitis B and C? Please Help!?
Hi! When I was cleaning my In Laws Toilet. I tend to throw away all the used items. My mistake is not wrapping the used razor on a piece of paper while putting it in a small plastic bag. When I collected all the small plastic bags to put on a garbage bag. I accidentally get cut on my finger by the used/rusted razor. I immediately wash the wound and put an antibacterial ointment on it. I already get my tetanus shot last July 2015. But basically. I'm afraid that I can contact something more nasty like HIV or Hepatitis because of the cut. Its a small cut. Around 2-3mm. It tore up more on the top skin. It's not that deep. I know I'm stupid not properly disposed the razor. I feel really bad about it. My husband said it was his father's razor. I don't know his medical records. And We just visited them for the Holidays. Should I get tested? Thank you.
