How Do I Treat A Nose Bump Piercing

Nose piercing bump?

is the bump on the outside or inside?

If its on the outside I've had those... i soak my nose in warm water with sea salt and then take a pair of tweezers and pull the bump off. Normally it hurts like hell.. but it will go away after a few more soaks in sea salt.

Also, try to avoid putting makeup around your piercing... it clogs the piercing and could lead to more infections.. and make sure you wash your face at LEAST once a day if not twice to get rid of excess oil and dirt. The sea salt can usually be found in the spices isle at your supermarket with the regular salt.. its usually about 5 bucks for a bottle of it. Sea salt helps heal wounds and open infections just so you know and don't think I'm crazy for soaking my nose in sea salt. I've only had two of those and it was years ago.. If you don't want to use the sea salt you can try rubbing alcohol first then peroxide and then rubbing alcohol again on a cotton ball, it will burn the second time because the peroxide will have opened it up but it will kill the infection and the bump will go away..

hope this helps.

Nose Piercing Bump! Need To Get Rid Of!?

I've had a nose piercing for about a month and 2 -3 weeks. I changed my piercing on the 2nd day I got it done (I know super stupid but my piercer said I could do it. Turns out I couldn't) Ugh! Anyway, it would get infected and it would heal. But now, it just has this bump its always there when it's infected! And this time it wont really go away. I used tea tree oil (doesnt look like its working), Neosporin (doesn't seem like its working either), Hydrogen Peroxide (nothing happens!), Sea Salt (doesn't seem like it's doing much either!), uhmmmm bactine also (it somewhat works). So i don't know what to do! I need to get rid of it!
Here's another thing:
I don't want my piercing anymore. Should i just take it out? Even though it's infected? Will the bu,p still be there?? Cause i need to heal in like 2 weeks!? And i don't want it anymore so help?

How long to use tea tree oil on nose piercing bump?

Okay, so this is the fifth time i've had my nose pierced and everytime i develop the infamous "bump" so everytime i take the piercing out - but i just love the piercing so much that i decided to try the tea-tree oil remedy that so many people have raved about and it worked! I've been doing the treatment for four days now and the bump is finally gone!! However, I can still see a little opening in the skin where the bump generated from and i'm nervous that the bump will only come back once i stop doing the tea-tree oil treatments -

SO MY QUESTION IS: how long should i keep applying tea-tree oil to the area to guarantee that the bump won't return?? Will the opening (it almost looks like an open sore but it's very tiny) ever fully go away? is there anything else i can do to help the healing process along? I've had the peircing for almost 2 months now and the bump developed about a month after i got the piercing. The jewelry I'm wearing is specially designed hypo-allergenic silicone, it was really expensive so i know its not the ring (particularly because the bump happens to me everytime i get my nose pierced, regardless of the jewelry i have in)

thanks for your help!

Can I use Cortizone 10 to treat a nose piercing bump?

I would not suggest using that on a piercing at all. Follow proper aftercare instructions and make sure to soak it well in the shower. Piercing Aftercare InstructionsAlso address the reason why the bump is there. Could be trauma like snagging, jewelry metal and or fit….etc.

Why do some people get a bump after a nose piercing? How can it be treated?

The bump is known in the industry as a hypotrophic scar or granulation. Sometimes it is called a keloid or piercing pimple/blood blister. (It seems it has a lot of names)It is due mostly to 4 main factors:Jewellery material or shape. If the jewellery you are wearing is cheap or isn't good for your skin then a bump will happen. Usually this can happen if your stud is too short or long as well. And it is BOUND to happen if you are wearing rings during the healing time of the piercing (when it's still new, first 6 months)Aftercare. If you aren't using just warm salty water according to Association of Professional Piercers then you will likely see this bump. Yes this means you mister/miss alcohol spray over there! I see you don't try and hide!Contact. If you are touching or knocking your piercing a lot then this bump will appear. Hands off please. And if you knock it. CLEAN IT!Health. If you are ill, recovering from illness or just have a poor immune system then this can be a result. Improvements to your fitness or health will also improve your piercing quality. So smokers and drinkers will see more of this bump than fit people, generally speaking.Check out that link under number 2 if you wish to see some methods of helping your piercing heal on top of the ones I've mentioned

Nose (piercing) bump inside my nostril?

I had my nose pierced about 6 months ago and I have had a bump on the inside of my nostril at the base of the piercing for a while now. It doesn't hurt and doesn't look infected or inflamed... how do I treat it myself* if it is "the bump"?

What is the likelihood it is some kind of keloid scar?

*If my attempt to treat it at home doesn't work, I will go to a doctor.
