TV keeps turning itself off? Is it the TV or the Cable Box?
Simple way to test, un hook the cable box, if the problem persists it is most likely the TV. Could be a timer issue, but the 4-10 minutes leads me in another direction. Are you sitting on the remote and inadvertantly shutting it off? This could be a serious internal powering issue with the TV. I would suggest that you unplug the TV for an hour and leave it be, this will allow the TV to reset to the manufacturers defaults. If this fails consult your the manufacturer or contact your on your service agreement (if you purchased an extended warranty) Good Luck.
You can unplug the power, and plug it back in, but that doesn't necessarily refresh all the data on the box. You can turn on the TV & cable box, then press and hold the OK/Select button until the display on the cable box starts flashing (it's only one part of the display that flashes; I can't remember which one, but it will be obvious).Press the up arrow on the remote, and follow the menu. There is a reboot option.That may or may not cause the box to contact TWC for a complete refresh.An easy way to get that done is to contact TWC via phone, chat, or even Twitter (@TWC_Help) and ask them to reset your cable box.
My tv won't turn off or change channels or volume from the remote or buttons on the tv?
I have a LG 47LH30 I bought a few years ago and haven't had any problems until today. The remote will not do anything and the buttons on the TV will not do anything. My TV is constantly on and will only turn off if I unplug it, besides unplugging it I can't do anything. When I plug it back in, the TV automatically comes back on to the same channel. If I press a button on the remote, the TV receives the signal because the sensor light flashes, but nothing else happens. I called LG and it is going to cost $90 to diagnose the problem so I wanted to ask if anyone could help me out before I decide to pay $90 to just have it checked out.
Can I turn off my sky box hd from switch?
Yes you can. it will be fine. Will just take a couple of minutes to load everything back up next time you switch it on. Put your sky box into standby 1st, then after the light gone from green to orange, wait 10 more seconds before switching it off at the wall to make sure you don't corrupt the data on the hard drive.
Help quick please?!? how can i turn SAP off my tv? ?
okay i have a SHARP lcdtv or whatever (thats just what it says on the remote control. . im not too good with tv's) half my channels the sounds messed up, and i know its a problem with SAP because i red it somewhere, and on all the channels that aren't working, SAP's enabled. anyway, when i flip my channels (or press display) it says STEREO: SAP: MONO: , and i usually can turn whatever off, but for some reason my arrows that control the menu aren't working for this, so therefore, i can't turn SAP off. PLEASE HELP?? i cant watch anything on tv till i fix it!! ):
There are a few ways to try i.e. unplug, wait 10 seconds, then plug back in may work; however, the better course of action would be to call Xfinity and inform them of issue. They can reset the box, also can determine whether the box or the cable is faulty and even send out a technician to replace box or repair the issue.
First of all, you need a soundbar or (better) audio/video receiver with HDMI or SPDIF (digital audio optical or coaxial) inputs. Once you have it, You have multiple options :Use the HDMI output of the box and go into the 5.1 or 7.1 Audio/Video receiver or soundbar which will decode the digital audio and will output surround audio to its connected speakers. Another HDMI Cable would then be used to send the video to your tv. OrUse the optical or coaxial SPDIF output from the Time Warner Box to go into the soundbar or av receiver In both cases, make sure your Time Warner box's audio output options are set to compressed, multichannel or Dolby audio output, not PCM Or stereo output. Here's how you get to the CC option on the cable box: It's easier if you use the controls on the box itself but you can use the remote. start with the tv and cable box on -on the cable box -push "power" -push "menu" You have to do that kind of fast, this will take you to a "user settings" menu, the CC is the 4th line down, just arrow down to it and push the right arrow to change it. If this menu does not show up on your tv screen you can still change the CC. The front of your box will say "16.9" or "4.3" then arrow down until it reads "CCEN" (CC enabled) or "CCDS" (CC disabled) and then push the right arrow to change it.

I am the OP. Now their tech person has told me to turn off my Chrome feature that tells me if a site is dangerous but the re-direct I’m getting is sending me a TWC/Spectrum site and I don’t think Chrome would do that? The new modem is a combination modem/router but the technical they sent out hooked it up to our router so it was attempting to go through two routers. TWC was able to turn off the router functions of the modem and just use the router we own (making the internet work and saving us $5. per month).It’s working now. I hope this fix continues.
