I had the same problem with a very loud and annoying ring! I pressed the MENU button, scrolled down to RINGER, and was able to select both the volume control and the ringer tone. I found a much more pleasant tone and lowered it to a soft volume. It is much more pleasant to the ears!

Does anyone know how to clear a Uniden cordless phone?
Yes- none of the answers I have looked at have assisted me with this problem. So, I phoned up Uniden and asked them. Now, I have a certain answer. The reason that the red light continues to flash is that my service provider (e.g. Telstra, Optus) has activated my voicemail service when I normally don t have it activated because I have a message bank on my Uniden phone system. My service provider s voicemail service WAS switched OFF, but I took out a different plan with them, and what do you know, it got switched on again. So, here are the steps to stop this happening again: 1) Contact your service provider and ask them to a) switch off your voicemail service; b) clear your CID list, c) clear your message list. 2) Go to your Uniden phone and select Menu/Global setup/Line 1/VMWI reset- this resets your CID listing. 3) The phone/ID button on your phone system and the first CID (call identifying) phone number will appear. Press OPTIONS button, scroll down to DELETE ALL, then OK, then YES. You may have to do this with the message base, and each of the phones. This will delete all the CID s at once on the device you selected. Repeat on each additional phone/device. These 3 steps will rid you permanently of the annoying red flashing message light when there are no messages.
