That depends on your OS. If you are using Windows, go to your control panel, software and uninstall Java. However, that will remove Java completely from your computer.

What happens if you uninstall all Java software from a computer?

In most cases this will have the consequence of not being able to run any application(s) that were written for the Java Virtual Machine.  This includes any app written in Java, Scala, Kotlin and any JVM based language.  There are quite a bit of apps written using Java on the server side but you may be able to get away with doing this on a client PC.  I wouldn't recommend this however.

How to uninstall JAVA(TM) 6 Update 22?

If you look on the Java site, it doesn't provide much assistance with this issue, it just tells you to uninstall it (kinda of stupid since the issue is that you can't uninstall it). Microsoft however has a forum to help you with this issue (the link is located below). Follow the instructions provided in the forum and you should be able to get it to work. I would also suggest you download the offline installer (the second link below) and try installing Java that way. If this doesn't work, you can always try downloading music from http://www.BeeMp3.com (no software to download, you just download the songs). Hope this helps.

Does java hurt your computer?

i just got a brand new computer and i plan to download mine craft. it says i need a java 1.5.0, and it opened up a tab to download java. i did the download, and it asked if i wanted it to make changes to my hard drive. i said no, and i retried downloading mine craft, but it told me i still needed the java, and it reopened the tab. i want to download it again and say yes this time, but i'm afraid of damaging my computer. i'm not exactly a good tech guy, either.

Should I uninstall Java?

No.By itself, Java (and its interpreter) is no more dangerous than Perl (programming language) or Visual Basic (programming language) or a C compiler. The security threat comes from running Java applications straight out of Web Browsers without explicit prior vetting or examination - that's what makes it a virus/worm vector which can compromise your computer. This is why web browsers should have both Java and JavaScript shut off - they're both equally dangerous from a security perspective, despite all the protestations of the promoters of those languages in client-side Web Applications that they've made "safe" sandboxes for which can't compromise your computer from arbitrary code downloaded from other web servers.I can be convinced that web Java and JavaScript are safe; all their promoters have to do is prove it: perform and report the results of the clearly necessary combinatorial testing of all code paths through those interpreters for all implementations thereof, and show no combination of operations that can compromise a computer.Too hard? OK: next best would be a digitally signed repository of web java and javascript code wherein the repository operator accepts full legal liability for all direct and consequential damage to any and all computers from code downloaded from the repository.

My Windows control panel shows that I have installed 'Java 8' and 'Java SE Development Kit 8'. Are they same? Can I uninstall one of them?

No, One is JRE (Java Runtime Environment) and another is JDK (Java Development Kit). When you install JDK, it also installs JRE but the reverse is not true.Reason for this is, in order to run a java program, computer needs JRE and in order to compile a JAVA program computer needs to have JDK.Visit the following link for more info, it has a very good diagram to explain both.Java Platform Standard Edition 8 Documentation

Do I still need Adobe or java on my Computer?

They won't harm your PC, but you need them for games, and videos.

Java runs games. If your going to play certain browser games, Java is needed. If you want to watch videos on youtube or something, you need Adobe Flash player. Adobe Shockwave is needed for all games.

Uninstalling them will not harm your computer, but you might need them in the future. If you don't play games or watch videos, so go ahead and remove them.

You can always reinstall them off the Java or Adobe website. Just Google adobe flash or java or adobe shockwave.
