No. Pirating is illegal, so as soon as the Sims servers detected the pirated expansion, the entire game would become useless. Your computers MAC address (basically like it'd ID card) would be banned from the servers, too. Some rare pirated copies can bypass these, but the risk is not worth it. The only way to make it work would be to never connect to the interent when the game is active. This also means you would never be able to get title updates, as EA servers do something called "authentication" before applying updates. This fights piracy and helps protect customers against non-EA updates (basically viruses people try to send to games as updates). The legal copy would not matter because, once you add pirated software to it, it becomes an illegal copy.

Hello, sorry if I am not clear about the situation (my sister refuses to try and help). My sister illegally downloaded Sims 3 with late night attached. It was a huge process taking over three days to download it. Because it really doesn't belong to Origin or anything, she can not buy any expansion packs. She got tired of her game and now has decided to buy sims 3 double deluxe. Loft style? island paradise, and I think another one. Her illegal downloaded game is now messing up the ones she bought.How do I delete the illegal game off of the laptop? She now wants to use my computer and I don't have enough room on mine for hers and all my sims 2 stuff. Please help! Again, i'm sorry if i'm unclear.

Yes, If you have downloaded a .sims3pack, then install it using the Sims 3 Launcher (or in some computers you can just double click it and the launcher will open itself). but if you have downloaded a .package file, put the file that you've downloaded to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages or where ever you installed your game *if the mods or packages folder doesn't exist, then create it. but when using a .package file you should also download a resource.cfg and put it into the root of your game directory (C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 or wherever you installed your game)

Hi guys, just bought The Sims 3 but when i open it, it says I'm playing a non-final unauthorized copy of The Sims 3 :( I'm absolutely sure it's an original copy i bought it from the apple store. i've downloaded the game from torrent a while back.. do you think this was the problem? Will Steam recognize any cracked or pirated game installed in my computer?
I have a cracked copy of skyrim (already bought the ps3 and xbox version ) ,it’s even in my steam library at this moment as a non steam game and I haven't been banned yet, so you should be good. plus I'm pretty sure that would be a breach of your privacy from steam's side if they knew what you were downloading.
