How Do I Use My Weight Advantage In A Fight

How do you use your weight as an advantage in a boxing match ?

When you tie-up in boxing you can lean on the other guy forcing him to carry your weight.

When fighting close you can slam into him with your body while punching and throw him off his center.

More weight and force behind your punches.

Muscle weights more then fat, a higher weight could mean bigger mucles depending on the person.

How do you use size to your advantage in a fight?

Outside of sports with weight classes, height often means you weigh more too, height means you have greater reach, and it's easier to control distance, and the tired old 'swarmer beats out-fighter' doesn't hold so much when you're heavier and can knee them.
Weight means you have greater mass, and whilst explosiveness can be an issue, your momentum will be greater, you're harder to displace and move around and it'll be harder to defend against you.

Fighting reach advantage vs weight advantage which one is the better body advantage?

Reach to me is very important. Once you loose your reach though your at a disatvanted. If the opponent has more reach than you than you need to be a good blocker to get into range. If the apponent is bigger than you need to use your reach and not allow them inside. The best fight is a person the same size and reach as you. If you are both the same speed and all it's going to come down to where you hit and how hard you hit. First hit is always the best if done right. So both have advantages and disadvantages.

What does weight do for a fight?

Well, skill is the more important factor between two competing combatants. However, when the margin of skill is relatively small, being larger (and ergo, probably stronger) than your opponent can have a tremendous amount of impact on the outcome of the fight. If you're ten pounds of muscle stronger than me, you have an advantage that I now have to overcome. This is why there are weight classes in combat sports.Height is arguably just as, if not more so, important. You have to remember that height has a proportional relationship to reach, as well.Imagine this: you've got two fighters squaring off. One is 5′9 with a reach of 74 inches. The other is 6′ even with a reach of 76 inches. So, on the surface, the second fighter can land blows from a bit further away based on the reach alone. But, that problem becomes more pronounced if we take height into account, as well. The shorter fighter has to punch upward to reach his opponents head, and anybody who's ever looked at a circle should immediately realize why that becomes a problem. The taller fighter can fire his punches straight across, making his reach advantage more pronounced.Does all that make sense? I hope this had helped.Cheers!

Does being fat give you an advantage in a fight?

I’m assuming that the fat person weighs more than the other person, so for example, one guy weighs 70 kg but the other weighs 80 and is fat. I’m also assuming we are talking about a sport fight, not a street fight, for which these advantages become almost insignificant due to their different nature.Heavier strikes. He has more mass behind them. This means it’s easier for him to knock you out and you will tire faster from absorbing his punches than vice versa.Harder to muscle around in the clinch and easier to muscle around others. When you try to move him, you will have to use extra energy. And because his weight helps him resist it, he has to use less energy to resist your movement. But when he moves you, you again have to use more energy to resist it.Heavier wrestling pressure from top on the ground. It’s harder to get out from under him effectively, because he weighs more. That’s it. Pretty good advantages assuming the fat guy is also technically competent and has a serviceable gas tank.

What are some advantages of being muscular in a fight?

It is not really an advantage to be muscular in a fight. However having a fit body will give you physical and mental advantages. Having strong shoulder, leg and core muscles will help you the most in the fight when compared to other muscles in the body. But when i say “strong”, i do not mean big. Having a bodybuilder body like this(below) will not help you in a fight.Fight is mostly about tecnique and experience but if you have a body like this, you can’t even throw proper punches. Most of the muscular people will squeeze their biceps and pecs when they strike thinking that squeezing them will make their punches harder. On the contrary it just makes their punch less harmful. One should only squeeze their fist whilst punching, leaving the other parts of the body completely relaxed. So that the arm will elongate properly and perform an effective punch.Look at the fighters in ufc, most of them have defined fit bodies. An example below.
