How Do I Verify My Email Address For A Group On Yahoo

To join this group, you need to link your email address to a Yahoo account.?

I'm logged in with my yahoo email account and trying to join a group and keep getting this popup message... "Your email address is not linked to a Yahoo ID. To join this group, you need to link your email address to a Yahoo account." What am I supposed to do?

Secondary email address and Yahoo Groups?

I recently created a secondary email address for my Yahoo account.

Not the alternate that Yahoo asks for when You set up an account, but a secondary email address for the account. (under Mail Options then under Mail Addresses, it lets you set up secondary email addresses)

I am trying to use the secondary address for some of my Yahoo Groups, but cant get it to come up as possible addresses available to use. I created a profile for the address and associated the yahoo groups to that profile, but it is still showing my main email address.

Can anyone show me how to get the secondary address up?

How Do I Verify My Yahoo Account?

To verify your yahoo account or alternate email address, please follow the steps below:-

1. Visit your Email Management page by going this link http://edit.yahoo.com/commchannel/manage (You will be asked to verify your account with the current password)
2. On the next screen you will see the alternate email address you have listed on your account. (If your email address has changed, simply click "Add Another" and be sure click the "Save" link to the right of the desired email address.) If your email address is verified it will say so. Otherwise, click on the "Verify Now" link.
3. Check your alternate email address for our system generated email and follow the instructions.

* Note: if you do not receive your code right away, please do not request a new one. There may simply be a delay in receiving this email.*

Member's alternate email address, verified and set as primary is not showing as primary in the group list.?

I moderate a group that has been around for about 14 years. Occasionally some of our older members want to update their email address but can't remember their passwords and for whatever reasons, Yahoo Groups fails to recognize their profile ID and will not send them a password reset. It is my belief that Yahoo "lost" a bunch of profile ids on one of their many conversions over the last few years.

When that happens, I usually advise our member to create a brand new profile, which of course, requires them to define a new @yahoo.com email account. Many of those members would prefer to receive email at their primary, non-yahoo email address, so I provide instructions to them on how to add alternate email addresses, verify them and then set them as primary for our group.

I have one member in particular right now who, as far as I can tell, has done everything perfectly. I've walked thru her Yahoo account settings with her and her Gmail account IS verified and set as primary. But when I go into my moderator account, however, and pull up the member list, her account is listed with the new @yahoo.com email address which she just created. I can't find a reason for this and she is completely frustrated.

Has anyone else ever encountered this, and if so, is there a solution? Also, has anyone else had issues with older Yahoo profile ids not being recognized, and if so, is there a reason and solution for this?

Thanks to all in advance for any ideas or suggestions?

What is the meaning of the following "Your email address is not linked to a Yahoo ID. To join this group, you need to link your email addres?

This means you are subscribed to the group's email list but do not have access to the group's web features.

If you join the email list of a Yahoo! Group without using a Yahoo! ID, you won't have access to the group's web features until you follow the instructions below:

Go to the Yahoo! Groups Membership Wizard: http://groups.yahoo.com/memwiz

1. You'll be asked to sign in with your Yahoo! ID. (If you're not a registered Yahoo! member, you may sign up for a free account on this page. Once you complete your registration, you'll be returned to the Membership Wizard.)

2. Make sure the email address where you're receiving messages from the group appears in the Membership Wizard. If it doesn't appear, add it via the link provided. (If you add an address, you'll be sent a verification email to that address to assure that you own it. Please check your email and follow the instructions in the message sent to you. Then, return to the Membership Wizard.)

3. Once your email address appears in the Membership Wizard as verified, continue with the steps in the wizard to get "web access" to all your groups.

Now you'll be recognized when you go to the group's Yahoo! home page.

Hope this helps!

I click the "+Join Group" box but always get the message "Verify Your Email Address "?

More specifically the message says:

Verify Your Email Address
Your email address is not linked to a Yahoo ID. To join this group, you need to link your email address to a Yahoo account.

But I have 3 different email addresses on my Yahoo ID, which I've had for years. I've been a member of 2 other Yahoo groups for years. I've tried altering which email address is my 'priority' email, but to no avail.

I can only assume this is a bug on Yahoo's part?
