How Do I Whiten Teeth With Peroxide

If you use peroxide to make your teeth whiter for more than ten days.. do you get a hairy black tongue?

uh No you dont get hairy black tongue from peroxide, if anything it would prevent it and peroxide doesnt really whiten your teeth.

Does Hydrogen Peroxide whiten teeth?

My friend told me she used it to whiten her teeth before. I tried it out for myself, and it actually did whiten my teeth some.
Now I wouldn't do this every day. So yes once a week or once every two weeks is good :)

Then again you could try baking soda :)

How do you whiten your teeth with hydrogen peroxide?

Get a bottle of:
Hydrogen Peroxide 3% (H2O2)- Use fresh product
and a
Box of Baking Soda (any brand is fine)
Wet toothbrush with Hydrogen Peroxide then dip in the baking soda, a paste will form on the brush…brush as shown, focusing on the gum line using a gentle, massaging circular motion. Brush all tooth surfaces, and tongue. . For oral use, you can dilute the 3% hydrogen peroxide with up to 10 parts water.
Adjust dilution to your taste
Rinse the mouth well when you are done
Baking soda has the effect of increasing alkalinity in the mouth, thereby neutralizing acids produced by the bacteria responsible for plaque and tooth decay. Baking soda is also a mild abrasive and whitens teeth.
Hydrogen peroxide is alkaline and bubbles and foams as it destroys the bacteria. It also cleans the tongue
Alternate this formula with your regular toothpaste.
Not for use by those with High Blood pressure or salt-restricted diet.

Hydrogen Peroxide teeth whitening?

A few people I know say that you can rinse your mouth with 3% Hydrogen Peroxide after you brush your teeth twice a day and it whitens your teeth. It definitley DID whiten their teeth, but I was wondering-
How long does it take for results?
How expensive is a bottle?/Where can you buy it?
and most importantly, Is it safe?
I wont use it if it's going to destroy my enamel or something. Haha, thanks!

Is whitening teeth with hydrogen peroxide safe?

Peroxides tend to whiten just about anything that they come in contact with.  Hydrogen peroxide is commonly included as a whitening ingredient in mouthwashes for this purpose.  (Examples: Amazon.com: peroxide mouthwash)Just rinsing your mouth with this liquid will have a subtle whitening effect.  That's the only step.  You'd have to do it more or less daily to see much of an effect. For stronger effects, you would want a thick gel, which allows you to ensure that it's just in contact with your teeth (not your entire mouth).  In that case, you should purchase a pre-made kit specifically designed for that purpose.

Will swishing with 3% hydrogen peroxide to whiten your teeth remove the enamel?

Hydrogen peroxide will oxidize (slowly burn) tissue, both good and bad living tissue. This is why it is not recommended to use 3% hydrogen peroxide as a daily mouthwash. To hurt your enamel, a liquid must have a low pH (acidity coefficient). pH of 7 is water, anything above 7 is “basic” and anything below 7 is “acidic”. The smaller the number, the more acidic a substance is.To hurt or demineralize enamel, the liquid (hydrogen peroxide or anything else) must have a pH of lower than 5.5. To demineralize dentin (especially when it is sometimes exposed near the gum line), the liquid needs to be below a pH of 6.8 (very close to water). So no, 3% hydrogen peroxide will not hurt your enamel as long as its pH is close to water. However the 3% hydrogen peroxide can cause you soft tissue irritation or even a mild burn. So, I would definitely not recommend it as a daily mouthwash, unless your dentist prescribes that to you for a very limited period of time.
