Commemorative speech on princess diana?

Commemorative speeches are addresses of praise, tribute or celebration. Commemorative speeches pay tribute to a person, group, institution, thing, event or an idea. Eulogies, Fourth of July speeches, testimonial addresses, and dedications are examples of commemorative speeches. The fundamental purpose of a commemorative speech is to inspire the audience-to heighten their admiration for the person, group, institution, event, thing/monument or idea being praised.

Although it usually presents information about its subject, a commemorative speech is different from an informative speech. The aim of an informative speech is to communicate information clearly and accurately. The aim of a commemorative speech is to express feelings, arouse sentiments, and inspire. It is NOT just a list of a persons achievements, accomplishments and/or background; it is much more.

Commemorative speeches depend, above all, on the creative and subtle use of language. Some of the most memorable speeches in history are commemorative addresses that we continue to find meaningful because of their eloquent expression. Two aspects of language use are especially important for commemorative speeches. The first is avoiding cliches and trite sentiments. The second is utilizing stylistic devices to enhance the imagery, rhythm, and creativity of the speech. (eg., Antithesis = "If you fail to prepare–You prepare to fail." or "Let us never negotiate out of fear. But never let us fear to negotiate") (Alliteration="You want your speech to be a clear, concise, creative, commemoration." Parallelism= "Our mission is to right wrong, to do justice, and to serve humanity"-- the use of parallel ideas in succession. Alliteration and Parallelism="The task is heavy, the toil is long, and the trials will be severe"). (Simile="Her eyes were like limpid pools." or "The Red Man has ever fled the White Man, as the morning mist flees before the morning sun") Metaphore="Your eyes are the windows to your soul." or "My Mother was the spoonful of sugar that sweetened life's bitter medicine" Repetition=using the same phrase over throughout your speech or in succession as in Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech and the "I have a dream" phrase.

How do I write a speech for a book launch?

The most important thing to remember when writing a speech for any event is to connect with the audience. The easiest way to do this is to be authentic with them; people connect with people who reveal their true personality. In terms of a book launch, you could connect with your audience by telling them the story of how the book came to be - what motivated you to write it, do you remember the moment you decided to write it, what brought you to this moment in time, your background, etc. Show your personality and your audience will be engaged and connect with you. Here are a few other tips for writing your speech:The starting and finishing sentences are the most important. You could use quotes, statistics or funny anecdotes - the aim is to make sure you are memorable. Ideally, say something that is likely to inspire the audience but if this isn’t true to your authentic self, then I would stay away from this (you don’t want to be lying in an attempt to inspire at your own book launch)! If you can, incorporate images into your speech. This doesn’t have to be a powerpoint presentation or anything formal. If you are talking about your background or your journey to date, for example, you could include pictures that complement your story. Some people are more visual and resonate better with pictures rather than words so this can help keep them engaged and ensure they connect with you.Use language appropriate for your audience. Don’t start talking about the intricacies of a topic that your audience only has a basic understanding of. Similarly, don’t use jargon or acronyms that your audience won’t understand either. Are there any secrets about the book which you can tell? For example, if the characters are based on anyone you know, if there is anything you cut out of the book, if there is a sequel to follow, etc.Thank important people. If there’s anyone who’s been a great support to you while writing the book, or who inspired you, now is a good time to thank them. However, don’t take 20 minutes to do this because most of your audience may not know them so will struggle to connect with you in this part of the speech. Thank those who have helped you the most, say why they’re great, and then move on.Ultimately, your speech won’t make or break the success of your book. It’s a huge achievement to have written a book so try and enjoy your launch party and celebrate your hard work.Best of luck!

What to talk about in a speech about my mom.?

Talk about what it is that makes your mom amazing. Since I don't know her here a few of these may be incorrect but they are pretty much universal:

+My Mom has always cared deeply for me, putting my happiness before her well-being and always inspiring me to be independent and proud of who I am.

+My mom always forces me to look at life in a different perspective so that I can understand the world better and not just my place in it, but empathize and understand others as well. For that I can't thank her enough.

+My mom never seems to give up on the world or anything in it, she's always optimistic and so sure it will work out that I can't help but give any task I do 100% when she encourages me.

Those should help you out anyways.

Can you read my 2 minutes speech?

Is a ceremonial speech(sentimental speech) that celebrates my grandma. what do you think about it? Do you think I need to change something?

A grandmother is a special thing indeed. For she can give all of a mother's love and wisdom, yet never has to give her discipline. My grandmother has had a big impact in my life; she taught me so many important life lessons. She taught me the importance of kindness, the importance of getting an education. Kindness can come in many ways and my grandmother is one of those women that take care of others before herself. She truly enjoys giving things away; always saying she doesn’t need so much. She always makes sure everyone has enough to eat or a little gift when she sees you. She is not selfish and got a true charge out of giving rather than receiving. She has a way of making people feel special, accepted and loved. This is one of the things that I admire about her the most; her open-hearted acceptance. Grandma allows you to live without fear of judgment, which, in turn, inspires you to want to make her proud. She is the one who instilled my conscience and shaped me into the person that I am today. For that, I will forever be grateful.
My parents were always traveling or working and my Grandma devoted herself to our care and up-bringing. She never compromised in her belief that we were the priority and if that meant staying up late to help with homework, a sick tummy or making sure we made it in the door safely – she did it without complaint or hesitation. If we had a sport we played or a concert at school, she never passed up an opportunity to show her undeviating regard for her family. Although she was not often vocal about her love, we unconditionally felt the love emanating from her every action.
My Grandma is the person that has influenced my life the most because she is the one person that has always been by my side, and always encourages me to reach my full potential. The moments I've spent with her are the most memorable ones of my life. I still remember them fondly. Grandmas just love you so much more - my grandmother sure does! My parents are loving and caring, but my grandma is that much more to me. She is so loving and caring and nurturing. She is a strong woman - the woman I adore the most!!
