How Do I Write A Permission To Monetize Videos On Youtube

Can I translate YouTube videos and monetize it?

While its not a service solely for YouTube videos, there are various sites such as Rev - Transcription, Captions, Translation where you can apply for a position doing video captions, or translations, many of which are for youtube videos.Ive been doing captions with Rev for about a month now, and its great being able to work from home, whenever I feel like it (assuming there are jobs available at the time, which varies hour by hour). I’m not sure how much translating pays, but captions vary between 50, and I believe it’s 90cents or something per video minute. If translating video is something you’re interested in making money off, this is probably the route you’d want to take.*NOTE*, I was absolutely not sponsored by Rev to make this post, nor do I receive any gain for doing so. I simply see Rev as a great solution to the proposed question, and as such have answered with my honest recomendation.

Can you use NoCopyrightSounds (NCS) music on monetized YouTube videos?

You should consider the terms of the artist. Your best bet for safely using music in your videos is to only use CC0 or CC-BY (Creative Commons) licenses. With CC-BY, you’ll need to credit the artist. If you’re using a license other than that, it’s a good idea to carefully check the requirements - Creative Commons license means you can download and share the content freely. But there are many types of Creative Commons licenses, each with specific requirements:CC0: Completely free. You can download, use, remix, share, and do anything else you want with this track, and you don’t have to credit the artist.CC-BY: Attribution. You can use this however you’d like, but you need to provide an attribution link to the original artist.CC-BY-SA: ShareAlike. With this license, you need to make anything that uses the piece of music available under the same license.CC-BY-NC: NonCommercial. The track can’t be used in anything that’s intended for monetary gain, including monetized YouTube videos, without written permission from the artist.CC-BY-ND: NonDerivative. You can’t put this track in a video without written permission from the artist. There are lots of places you can find free background music for videos online, here are the best sources of royalty-free music for video editing: Best 7 Places To Find Free Music For Video EditingThese sites will help you find royalty-free music for videos, but you still need to make sure that you’re following the correct attribution procedures and not using non-commercial tracks for commercial purposes. If you’re not totally sure whether you can use a particular piece of music for your video, get in touch with the artist and let them know what you’re thinking of doing. They’ll tell you if it’s alright or if you’ll need written permission.

What is Fair Use on YouTube and can I monetize a video if it is "Fair Use"?

Well, YouTube has a page on this on their website: Fair use - YouTubeAlso see this general description: What is “fair use” under US copyright law?Fair use is a U.S. law that allows very limited uses of someone’s work without first getting their permission. It has four rules, which a judge would consider altogether when making a decision as to whether your use fit fair use.Fair use is not a shield to being sued. Instead it is a defense you make in court once you are sued. Thus, you can claim your work is fair use, but until a judge/jury makes a decision, this is merely a claim.YouTube has to abide by the rules of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, which requires they take down videos that contain content made by other people (e.g. background music, clips from other videos, photographs). At that point the person that posted this video can appeal the decision, claiming that this is fair use. YouTube can ignore this appeal, since its their website and they can take down anything they want. Note that porn and terrorist recruitment videos are taken down, even if they abide by copyright law. YouTube is entitled to set what ever rules they want for their website and never has to explain itself (although they usually do).Fair use requires that the work you create fit four rules:You used someone’s content under one of the allowed purposes: Parody, Criticism, Review, Academic use.You used the least amount of their work as possible for your use. Using a full song, for instance, almost never fits fair use.You added a substantial amount to these pieces of content, creating a new and unique work. A top ten list, a compilation video, or an AMV only use content created by others and thus fail this test. YOU have to create new content to which the video clips are added, not just perform an act of editing.Your work has to not harm the potential market for the original work. This one is very hard for sports highlights, since the sports leagues make a very good profit from licensing these video clips to TV channels. Their very business model is to get money for use of clips, highlights from games. So, be from the U.S., create a video of your own work, put relevant clips into that video, and make that video such that it reviews the original content or parodies it. (Very few YouTube videos can fit the requirements of “academic use”.)It does not matter if you monetize it. None of the rules of fair use require you give your work away for free.

If you don't monetize your YouTube video, can you use anyone's copyright music?

In general, whether you’re monetizing or not doesn't matter: If the music isn't licensed for use in your video you shouldn't use it. Same goes for images, sound effects, fonts etc.Having said that, YouTube has a handy-dandy ‘music policies’ tool [1]where you can search for copyrighted music and see the policies that are in place for said music. Here you can see whether you can use the music, and if you can, under what conditions. The policies typically look like this:If you use this songPlaybackViewable worldwideMonetizationYou can't monetize your videoIf you include a song with these policies in your video, everyone can see it but you won’t be able to monetize it. (Pretty straightforward) But also, ads may also be placed on the video by the owner of the music. Some songs will look like this:If you use this songPlaybackViewable everywhere except GermanyMonetizationYou can't monetize your videoThere’s a licensing organisation in Germany called GEMA that has a strong say in what can and can’t be played in their region. It’s the reason that German viewers can’t watch YouTube livestreams; you could unexpectedly start jammin’ to some copyrighted music mid-livestream. Though this may not be of any concern to you if you don’t have a German audience.Other songs will look like this:This song is not available for use in your YouTube videos. If you use this song, your video may be blocked or muted.Clear and to the point.Without getting in contact with the music label and licensing the song - using this song in your video would result in some lackluster silence in your videos. This policy will often apply to newly-released songs and the policy may change later down the line.tl;drOnly if it is in the YouTube music policies and it states that it can be used.Footnotes[1] YouTube

Monetizing my Dark Souls video on YouTube?

You could do it in one of two ways. First, upload the video and say you own the content. In the form write something along the lines of 'I created this content and own all rights to it'.
If you do that you will probably be fine as it is highly unlikely that a video game company would complain. It is great free advertising for them.

The second route, and the more legitimate way is to ask the company if you can use your game play footage to make a Youtube video. If they bother to reply, they'll probably say something along the lines of 'yes'. Keep the email and upload without fear of getting the video taken down.
