It took Trump six months to defeat ISIS in Iraq. But Obama couldn't do it in few years. Why is the liberal left media ignoring this?Trump didn’t defeat ISIS. The combined militaries of various countries defeated ISIS, if in fact it actually is fully defeated. Nothing, absolutely nothing Trump has done has contributed to the downfall of ISIS in any way. The strategies and policies that defeated ISIS were in place long before Trump came into office. In spite of what Trump might hope, playing golf is not a war winning contribution to victory.ISIS was greatly diminished and already struggling greatly before Trump took office. Though it may upset you, that came to pass under Obama’s leadership.Wars against foes like ISIS are not won in weeks or months. It actually can take years. The U.S., under a Republican administration abetted the creation and strengthening of ISIS through its policies specifically in Iraq and the Middle East in general. As well, I, for one, have not heard how tweeting or playing golf contribute to a nation’s success. Have you? If so, I’d be delighted to be enlightened. For one political leader or another to take credit credit for a win, history generally requires that leader contribute to the victory by virtue of their leadership and policies. So, to answer your question the media isn’t ignoring the defeat of ISIS. That was almost all but a foregone conclusion before Trump took office. If the politically Right media is not ignoring the defeat of ISIS, I would characterize their coverage as an effort to divert attention away from Trump’s quite real and serious legal problems that, IMHO, will result in his resignation or impeachment anon.

What has barack obama accomplished since becoming president?

How do liberals feel about President Trump doing more about the Syria situation in 1 month than Obama has in his 2 terms?

Doing something is worthless in and of its self. If your house is on fire and I stay away (because I am not a fireman) and someone else throws gas on the fire, you could argue that the gas thrower has done more about the situation than I - but they haven’t helped at all. There was a movie a while ago called “Wag the Dog”Wag the Dog (1997)Its a good film, and quite useful in this case. What Trump has done is largely a publicity stunt. He warned the Russian government, who most likely warned their allies in the Syrian government. The net result is that we wasted quite a bit of money for almost little to no gain. If there is a result, there is no guarantee that the result given will be favorable to American interests. The other fact to notice is that this has (somewhat) refocused the attention on a small bombing campaign in the middle east and Afghanistan away from questions about Trump’s presidency domestically. I don’t believe it will work, and I think in the end we will pay for this little stunt - if at least in reputation. The truth is that there are horrible situations everywhere in the world - the answer isn’t always to do something. In the case of my fire analogy - there are people better suited to deal with the situation. Simply because another government (the Russian government in this case) chooses to do something does not follow that the United States should. In this case, the better thing to do is to offer (IMHO) economic aid to those displaced by the conflict. Adding arms to an already bad situation will not help.Given the US Government probably doesn’t want to help the Assad regime, and given the other alternatives are far from stable, staying out of the situation and allowing it to play out organically is probably a better solution.Otherwise, you may inadvertently help ISIS - which is what you are doing if you go against Assad. This is truly a rock and a hard place situation, and intelligent and well thought out foreign relations is probably what is called for in this case. The answer isn’t always to shoot missiles into a territory. My 0.02 anyways.

Liberals (and Conservatives), why do lefties hate Bush so intensely?

This was by a poster on the History Channel message board - and this guy made a lot of sense - so I thought I would show you his post:

Why do Liberals hate President Bush so much?
By John Hawkins

Why do they hate him so much? They'll give you every reason in the book for it, but in my opinion, most of it is really all about four things:

#1) A lot of Democrats felt cheated after Gore lost in Florida. Were they cheated? Absolutely not. But, they FELT cheated and they got angry at Bush because of it.

#2) Many Republicans absolutely despised Bill Clinton and part of the animus towards Bush is just payback. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that this is really the primary driving factor behind the impeachment talk. They're desperate to try to impeach Bush, for anything and everything they can come up with, because the Republicans impeached Clinton.

#3) During the Vietnam war, the libs protested incessantly, they spit on soldiers, and they became radicalized. It's the same dynamic this time around, except back then, it was Lyndon Johnson who was really responsible for getting the war into full swing. So, there was more bi-partisan blame for them to spread around. The war in Iraq is Bush's war all the way and so most of the venom is getting aimed at him.

#4) The Democrats are out of power and that's making them more bitter, more willing to accept conspiracy theories, and more angry at the guy who has beaten them, George Bush.

Bonus Answer: The left has actually been nasty, angry, and vicious for a long time now. For example, they absolutely hated Ronald Reagan's guts and had few qualms about saying so. So, why didn't people notice it more back then? Because there wasn't a new media out there to report it and the old media, as they do today, protects "their side." A kooky or vicious comment by a liberal is much, much, more likely to be buried, minimized, or completely ignored by the MSM than a similar comment by a conservative. The difference is that now there's an alternative media that reports things that would have been swept under the rug 10 or 20 years.

Why do liberals, when you ask them to name just 1 positive thing Obama has done, simple resort to cursing you?

How dare you ask us to state one positive thing Obama done !!!!

I am outraged !!!!

Sure the economy is bad and will invitiably collapse, sure there's no jobs and run-away corporate-wall-street-government corruption and America is now a dictatorship fascist state and we are all screwed.

But! Obama has done some positive stuff!!!, I dont know what stuff that is, but let me re-assure you some good stuff was done!!! (but I just can't think of any at the moment)

Why did Iraq go downhill once Obama took office?

Iraq was an absolute hell hole BEFORE Obama took office. Even when our troops were there they could stop the sectarian violence that was occurring there and the situation got worse.

None of this was Obama's fault, we can NOT control what happens in another country and if you think it was the paradise that Fox News tried to make it out to be you are brainwashed badly.

Beside, we have no obligation whatsoever to intervene in the affairs of Iraq because it is not our problem. Did we really win the war, I doubt it. More right wing horsesh*t if you ask me.

What is sad is how you conservatives want Obama to resign so badly, but that's not happening so deal with it. Don't forget you still terrorist havens like Somalia, Libya, Pakistan, Afghanistan (which we are still in) and the other places like Chechnya. Also, African countries too.

Should we invade those places as well?...I don't think so.

Why is President Obama silent about Christopher Doner?

ShalloWhale: good point why should he comment about a local issue, he never did that before except for his buddy when he was arrested that led to historic Beer Gate, the shocking murder of Trayvon Martin who has since been framed by the media as a thief, drug dealer. the sad death of Whitney Houston who was drugged by the KKK and left to drown in the hotel shower. etc...etc...
