In general, no. When they get hired to play in a movie, they get a flat fee. Once they’re done shooting, that is the end of their connection with the move. its like that saying "the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer". Human beings are selfish things and when rich famous people do give to charity, they make it known to the world how much they gave, most don't give it because they have compassion in their hearts for the needy, they give it because they want people to acknowledge them and give them praise. in their minds they would be thinking "look at me, look what i did, aren't i generous and kind". they boast about it because they want self recongnition. The more money they make, the more they want. And they are never satisfied. It's like, they have built their lifestyles around spending a certain amount a week to keep up with the "hollywood lifestyle", if they were forced to spend less, they wouldn't survive. $50,000 a year wage would be the jackpot for most people but to people such as movie stars, they would probably commit suicide because they would be considered "poor". They live the lifestyle of luxery and they are use to it, they are use to getting what they want and anything less they can't stand it. Don't worry tho, most of these people aren't happy. Lots of famous musician and actors are on heavy drugs, alcohol and suffer severe depression. They have everything yet they lack something.

That's could be the effect of a free market....the same reason sports figures are paid more than doctors. They earn what the market allows. Of course, you're not 100% correct here, either. When you think of top movie stars, rock stars, pro athletes, and other entertainers, as compared to your local country doctor, you are correct.. they make way more. Of course, that's a small, select group at the top of the career pyramid. They make their money because others make money from them. Simply put, if they cast an unknown in a film, they will make less money on that film than if they cast George Clooney or Angelina Jolie... so much, in fact, that top tier actors can make $10-$20 million per film. In sports, a winning team makes more money for the owners than a losing team. If they're paying A-Rod $28 million, it's because they believe they're actually going to make more than that in profits, based on his star quality (and abilities, sure). Same with top musicians.. if 50 Cent is pulling in $35 million a year, it's because he's selling records, clothes, etc... well, and that whole Vitamin Water investment. Bruce Springsteen seems to have cleared $60 million in some years, but when you can sell out any stadium on the East Coast for as many nights as you'd like to play, you can earn that kind of cash (major rock/pop/rap acts bring in $500,000-$1,000,000+ PER SHOW. PER SHOW.. these days, often guaranteed by the venue). People pay that much, so they earn that much... it's simple enough. If you look at all of entertainment, you'll find different results. The bands playing at your local bar or folk festival make dramatically less than your local doctor. So do the actors working for scale in film, the actors doing local theater, the athletes in your local minor leagues (go Blue Rocks!), etc. And doctors also have their own "rock stars". A mid-level cardiothoracic surgeon can make $500,000 a year at a major city hospital... the tops guys pull in a cool million. Even your local GP could be making over $300,000 a year... not rock star pay, but not too shabby. A top level neurosurgeon in private practice might also make it into the million dollar club.
