Like, they gain a kind of yellow look to them at the top of your teeth like in the picture? Mine look like that and I'm worried I'm not brushing good enough.

Do photos have an affect on how your teeth look?

I'll admit one of my teeth are a little tilted back, but when I take a picture when im smiling it looks waaaaay worse! So do pictures have an affect on teeth?

I have messed up teeth and my smile looks horrible. What can I do to look more attractive to girls?

There’s lots of things you can do! Personally, crooked or bad teeth doesn’t change the way I feel about a person. You can get a nice haircut, work on your hygine, work on your charm (haha, charm really works well with girls!), you can buy new clothes or work with what you’ve got - for example, I loooove black and white outfits! Throw on a pair of black skinny jeans and a nice white shirt or t-shirt and you’re already looking stylish!Trust me, your smile will be something that your girl loves especially much because it’ll just be something cute on your face. Hair + style does a loooot!!

Should I bleach my teeth white to look like a movie star or is the more natural slightly yellow but mostly white color look, better?

Regarding bleaching or whitening your teeth, your teeth will only lighten to a certain degree as everyone is different. To overuse bleach will leave you very sensitive. Some cannot bleach at all or only minimally. Please only use a product that your dentist will suggest as many over the counter products will actually damage your gums or teeth. Movie stars usually have additional treatments to whiten their teeth and it can involve veneers which is a very expensive treatment that will only lead to further restorations in the future. Nothing is permanent. Most will suggest to use a whitening toothpaste before anything else to see how much stain and discoloration will be removed. If you have any dental work such as bridges, implants, crowns or bondings your teeth will not lighten. only natural teeth can be whitened.

Do teeth look different in mirrors than they do to other people?

Yes, your teeth look different to you than they do to other people. For one thing, you're studying your teeth whereas others are just glancing at them. For another thing, you're getting really close to your teeth - maybe eight inches away - while most people are going to be several feet from you at least.

Stop examining yourself and learn to take a compliment.

My "canine" teeth look to big but no dentist will shave them down... what do i do?

ask for the teeth next to them to be bonded out so they look bigger. i am guessing your dentists wont shave them because they are not abnormally big, but just look big to you... or they are relatively big compared to your other teeth. increasing the size of your other teeth next to the canines will shrink their visual prominence..

When you get your braces off. Does your smile and teeth look bigger?

Your smile will really look bigger and better without the braces in the way. They'll also feel like butter so you'll be running your tongue over your teeth alot the first couple of days. It takes a little bit to get your retainer though. They custom make them for you.

What is nicer-looking teeth to you? Incisor and canines being the same length or incisors that are slightly longer than canines?

Actually, it is a golden proportion which is followed in smile design and natural teeth too follows it.The central incisors and canine's biting surface falls in alignment to the base, while lateral incisors being 2mm above it.This proportion is the IDEAL one.Picture Source: Google Images; Golden proportion of teeth.Thank you !

Why do people look at other people's mouth/lips when they are talking?

'Cause personally I don't do that even if a person has some crooked teeth or deformed mouth. I think it's rude when people watch how your mouth is moving when they're talking. It's like these listeners don't pay much attention to what a speaker is saying but how his/her mouth and lips are moving.

I myself have a decent mouth, lips, and teeth and I don't have something on them at all but some people still want to look at my mouth when I'm talking. Most of the people I encountered have done this and they also do it to other people. Frankly, I don't like my mouth being watched and so I don't watch people's mouths when they're talking. I hate it especially guys look at my mouth when I speak. Every time they do, I always feel self-conscious.

In my opinion, we need a lot eye contact when we communicate in order to know some information through the eyes. People do not need to read lips because they are not deaf! So why a lot of people do this? I have no idea whether they do it subconsciously or just on purpose. Please share your thoughts? Do you think it's a norm or is it just plain rude?

My teeth were destroyed as a result of abuse as a child. How much will I have spend to restore them? I need implants and veneers.

I am so sorry that you have to look in the mirror and see a daily reminder of what you endured as a child. The only way to know what the cost of implants and veneers will be is to get a dental treatment plan from your dentist. The cost will vary depending on several factors: whether the extractions will be under sedation or with local anesthesia, the need for root canals on the teeth that will have veneers, the need for bone or tissue regeneration to stabilize the implant fixtures, the type of veneers that you get, even the state where you will have the work done, etc. Dental insurance will cover some things, like the extractions, root canals and a percentage of the veneers but not other things like the actual implants. Check with different dentists. Also, ask friends and family for recommendations. Best wishes to you on your new smile!
