How Do People Do Weights For So Long.

How long should i lift weights for?

It depends on what type of results you are looking for.

If you want to gain muscle- use a higher weight and preform less reps (aim for 8-10)
If you want to trim fat and tone your muscle- use a lower weight but perform more reps (aim for 12-15)

The most important thing no matter what weight you choose or how many reps you do is THE LAST THREE REPS, HAVE TO BE HARD. Aim for 3-4 sets of each exercise you do and aim for about 5 exercise for the same set of muscles. All in all a work out could take 20 minutes, it could take an hour. Time spent is not what matters, just that you do enough of the right kind of exercise for the right amount of repetitions with the right amount of weight.

If you are finishing in 5 minutes you aren't doing enough. Seems like your main issue is that you are only doing one exercise per muscle group when you should be doing around 5. Let's say you do ten reps in each of the three sets you do of the five different exercises you do- that should take you a least a half hour. You may be going too easy on yourself otherwise.

Listen, it is really simple….With Herbalife, as with any weightloss supplement shake, you will lose approx. 1–2 a week if you follow a nutrition plan. The idea is to reduce the amount of calories consumed daily. Now, if you workout, take additional supplements, are very strick on your meal plan, odd are you will lose way more than that per week.Thw idea is not to LEARN how to eat while you lose weight so that you dont gein it back once you restart having 2–3 meals a day.

you losing 1 pound a day was most likely through lack of water it was temporary & bad for your body not from what you ate as it takes time for your body to adapt to new diet changes depending on how drastic they are

How long does it take for bulimic people to start losing weight? my sister is bulimic and she lost weight.?

im a 24 year old guy who was anorexic and bolemic, i used to weigh about 18 and a half stone, and wasnt as fat as i shuda been cause i did loads of weights. it all went on during my final years in school, then in college i decided to lose the weight, it wasnt cause of women, that was never a problem :)
just knew there was something wrong.
So i started basically not eating(starving myself), then every few days i would stuff myself with something crap and feel terrible. then i discovered how to throw up........ uh oh! and it all went from there, i could eat as much as i liked and actually lose weight.
you can understand why people do it. my weight dropped down to 9 stone(same weight as my sister). and everyone said i was way too skinny, everyone..... i felt weak all the time. i fixed it by eating unlimited amounts of fruit and vegetables, and still do to this day, now i have a 2pack (not really interested in a six pack) and eat pretty much only fruit and veg and my weight stays the same no matter how much fruit i eat. but its only natural to want to be skinny, its all the crap we eat nowadays, starchy high carb foods(oh yea and ive completely cut sugar outo my eating), try some smoothies or veg soups. delicious and all u can eat!

Do shorter people have an advantage when lifting weights?

Shorter people have a HUGE advantage in pressing movements.Think bench press & shoulder press.I’m 6′3″ with super long arms.It took me a couple of years to bench 225……but I was able to deadlift 405 my first 6 months of training.So Vivek Nagarajan is right.Look at this guy benching 1000 pounds.For me… I think the bar has to travel 4–5 times this distance.On a side note: Why do powerlifting videos always have terribly cheesy death metal music. So annoying!I trained with a guy who was 5′6″ for years.We were equal in most lifts, but he could lift much more when it come to pressing movements.I had bigger, chest shoulder, and arms.He had better leverage.The leverage won.Cheers,-Rusty | Visual Impact Fitness

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO NOTICE WEIGHTLOSS PHYSICALLY?

im about 5'6 5'7 and im 86kg. im overweight, im not fit and my problem areas are my stomac, arms and thighs. for the past 3 weeks ove laid completely off the junk food, i only eat healthy foods and i dont eat tooo much and i drink lots of water. i try to do about 1 hour of excerise each day. with this, how long do you think a change will be noticable physically?

I've been skinny for too long. How do I gain weight for a fast metabolism?

You clearly don’t have a fast metabolism.If you do have a fast metabolism, you wouldn’t have a problem with gaining weight. People with fast metabolism don’t complain about not gaining weight.Everyone knows weight gain is all about eating surplus calories. Nothing to do with your metabolism.If a bodybuilder eats 5,000 calories everyday just to maintain his size, he has a fast metabolism. Does that mean he can’t gain weight? You think guys like him have always been the same sizes? If they want to gain weight, they can gain weight. All they have to do is eat more than 5,000 calories everyday and their weight will go up. People with fast metabolism have no issue with eating surplus calories.If you have a fast metabolism, your everyday life revolves around eating large meals. And I’m not talking about eating a couple of bowls of cereal with some Oreo cookies. I’m talking about meals much bigger than that, which you clearly do not eat.People with fast metabolism are actually a lot more rare than you think. So there’s no way in Hell most skinny people have fast metabolism. Most skinny people actually have slower metabolism than average people because there’s not much muscle mass for their bodies to support.Bottom line: Increase your calories. Watch your portions carefully. Your weight will eventually go up. Problem solved. And you don’t have a fast metabolism.I hope I made some things clear.
