How Do People Feel That The President Again Lied To The American People

What is the worst lie a US President has ever told to get elected?

I’m not sure about this question because most people conflate campaign promises and policy ideas that don’t happen with lies. A lie would be something like a candidate claiming to have a degree from a college he/she never attended or claiming to have been involved in a military operation that he/she wasn’t. Saying they are going to raise/lower taxes, or fix healthcare and then not accomplishing that is not a lie. It is a failed campaign promise or a failed proposal idea. So in this sense, I’m not sure any candidate has told a serious lie in order to get elected. Many candidates have mischaracterized situations or made silly promises that could never be realized, but I don’t know if any have told outright lies. In today’s world, it would be very difficult for a candidate to get away with telling an actual lie during a campaign. There is simply too much fact-checking.

Do American people like the idea of Hillary Clinton as their new President?

One of the things that I've heard from experts on military policy is that GOP, during the Bush years, stopped using experts to advise them on policy and proceeded from totally political point of view with all of their policy making; military and non-military alike.  I am hopeful that with Hillary, the U.S. government will get back to doing the right thing in many areas of policy and consult people who know about this stuff instead of political hacks. In terms of geopolitical policy there will be improvement.  She will pursue a better relationship with Iran.  I think that the opening with Cuba and Iran are really good things for the U.S. and the world.  I think Hillary will create more openings like these.  It looks like the Republicans would not.  Hillary has Bill in her back pocket, whom she can send in her place to help in foreign policy.  She will also make incremental progress in social justice.  Of course a more progressive candidate would be better, but the Republicans would turn the clock back and reverse some of the gains we've made..I doubt she will change much about how the financial system works, which is too bad.  Maybe, she would reform college tuition but I doubt it.  The Middle class is being screwed.  We need Elizabeth Warren and/or Bernie Sanders to change that.Hillary is more likely to reform and restructure the way the military does business and is organized.  They need it badly, they are still perfectly organized to fight a Soviet Military that does not exist anymore.  Would her administration have the cojones to do the right thing if that meant cancelling the F-35?  I don't know.Hillary says she wants some sort of campaign finance reform.  Something needs to be done here; what's left of our deocracy is in peril.  The Republicans would make this worse.Hillary would fix the ACA, healthcare would improve marginally for most people. In terms of government spending and budget balancing; I trust Hillary more than any Republican.  Her husband did and she will too.Hillary is more likely to address Climate Change than the Republicans

How much did Obama lie during his presidency?

The PolitiFact scorecard for President Barack ObamaThe PolitiFact scorecard for President Donald TrumpDo you notice anything different? If you look at the statements for both men that are rated as Mostly False, False, or Pants on Fire (the categories that are less than half-true) you will notice that President Obama was rated in these categories in 26% of his challenged and rated statements. Compare this to President Trump, who spends 69% of his time in this territory.Obama is scored at being at least half-true in 76% of his rated statements.Trump? Only 32%.So, maybe the question should be: Why does Trump lie all of the time? Lying seems to be Trump’s go-to move. Rather than present a semi-truthful answer, he wings it. Usually, these statements are telegraphed by his use of the phrase, “Believe me.”*************Additional:As expected, I’m beginning to get the comments that Politifact is obviously biased. Here, I must disagree and alert you to the possibility that there are real news sites out there. Politifact has received the Pulitzer prize for its fair and unbiased coverage of the political landscape, and if one actually reads the reviews and research that they cite when debunking the various lies, you will find that they are just as hard on Obama when he lied as they are when Trump lies. It is simply a matter of fact that Trump is a much more facile liar than was his predecessor. Perhaps the difference is that his predecessor actually knew facts about the topic of the day and didn’t have to make them up on the spot to appear in control.Search your feelings Luke. You know this to be true.

Do you think we should ask the Presidential candidates to take a lie detector test before the elections?

I am still amazed that people who want to run for public office, don't have to take a back ground check and get a finger print clearance card the same as teachers and bus drivers have to do.

The chances are very great that we elect public officials who wouldn't qualify to do any other job because they couldn't pass a back ground check.

In my opinion, back ground checks should be made public so that anyone who knows ahead of time that they couldn't pass it, wouldn't even waste our time and money even trying.

Our elected officials make rules concerning education and health care and yet can't even get a good finger print clearance card. They go into our schools but for all we know, could be pediphiles or felons. Would you want a surgeon who has a criminal record working on you? Worse, we have elected officials with criminal records working on you!!!

If we did back ground checks, we wouldn't have all this campaign mud slinging wasting our time and money on advertising from people who have alterior motives. I'm sick of our system!
