Why do the police only go after low level drug dealers?
It's the way our society operates. The rich, the powerful, and the famous do not have to abide by most of the laws that the common people do, and when they get caught for wrongdoing, they do not get the same punishment that the common people do. The top dogs in the drug business never get busted because they are usually someone very influential in the community. Pay offs are made, bribes are given,etc. This is the society in which we live. Last week, the wife of a successful business man was convicted of embezzling $271,000 from the bank that she worked at- the judge gave her a suspended sentence. Do you think that you would have gotten a suspended sentence for stealing $271,000? No, you would have gotten 20 years at hard labor.
What can I do about my drug dealer neighbor?
I just bought a house with my fiance and we have lived here for about 3 months now.. Well come to find out my neighbor sells drugs. Theres a few more things to it though. He and his wife have 2 children, 12 and 14. We live not even a block away from an elementary school so there is always kids on the streets going to school and playing. I know 110% he's doing it, i've seen him sell them.. crack heads at his back door. We live in a relatively nice area, so i'm a little surprised this is what i moved next to. I know he's selling either cocaine or crack or pills.. more then marijuana. We share a drive way so we basically know everything about eachother. My thing is.. I want this guy caught, it's absolutely repulsive what he's doing with his children in the house and a school not even a block away. What is the best effective way to get this guy arrested? I know i can go to the cops but i heard they don't even take you that serious and half the time they wont do anything about it. But if thats my only option i will. Isnt there some kind of fbi hotline or something? should i just keep pressing the issue until they do something about it? I want to have a child within the next year or two but dont even want to know because i'm borderline scared. What should i do?
Should the White House be allowed to redact the Mueller Report before it is released to the public?
No.Parts of it, yes. If there’s government confidential information, because the government is opaque, of course, that can be redacted.But the report should not be entirely closed off to the public. The public has the right to know, and quite frankly, leaving it private leads to a lot of misinformation and lies, like the ones spread by Trump and his fanatics about his apparent “exoneration” which never happened. I believe the government should be as transparent as possible because it’s elected by the people to serve the people, but that might be an unrealistic ideal.
What does USA need to do the stop the flow of drugs from Mexico?
If drugs were decriminalized and produced with known potency by an authorized source (but controlled as a medical issue/problem), and made available and cheap, there would be little or no flow from outside the US. (don't forget Canada marijuana, Columbian coke, hashish and heroin from the middle east, southeast asia etc). We'll see what happens with marijuana in Colorado and other places that have decriminalized and are controlling the drug. Other countries that have decriminalized drugs (e.g. The Netherlands) still have a drug problem in terms of people addicted... but people are not killing and robbing to maintain their habit, and there is little/no organized crime resulting from illicit drug trade.
