How Do The Unemployed Survive Once Their Unemployment And Savings Are Gone But Still Can

How are people surviving without jobs or unemployment benefits?

They're not, just in my small town alone, the homeless population has doubled in the last year & often there are two families living in one house for survival , but still many people are one pay check away from disaster. Our food bank now only allows 1 visit per family every 3 months, food stamps you have 3 months to find full time employment or no more free food, that's slow starvation, not really helping. Our electric coop isn't goverment regulated & can shut you off the same month your bill is due & its legal - even in february when its 20 below zero air temp without the wind chill. Give me homelessness in Florida over here any day.

Can I recieve unemployment benefits if I am doing an unpaid internship?

You will not be eligible for unemployment benefits because 1) you will have to voluntarily quit your current job and (2) you will not be looking for full-time employment during those 3 months.

Also,
1) The internship requirements are not unexpected. You've known about them for quite a while and should have been saving money to cover your rent and other expenses.
2) If you've been working during the day and studying at night, you can reverse the system -- do your school course during the day and get a night job.
3) Don't do the internships back to back. Save up enough money to cover the first one, then go back to full-time work until you've saved up enough money to cover the second one.

I fully realize that the internship requirements will cause a hardship, but they should have been planned for and can still be doable.

Best of luck on finishing up your courses.

How can I survive being an unemployed Indian?

After gaining 4 yrs of experience, I got job in a Foreign country with handful salary, but within 8 months I lost job. Then after I comeback to Chennai, after few months, I had no money even for tea, that time my wife was pregnant with one child, tears were in my eyes. Being a devoted muslim, I believe in Quran, it says "Allah won’t test a soul(person) beyond its/his/her capabilities.", so I had confident that I would overcome.I later did some freelancing through online site, then I applied to some companies in chennai. One  company offered me programming work on hourly bill, i continued. Later I contacted with my classmate, he referred me in his company in abroad. I am now working in abroad in an MNC.1. Try to get your classmates email IDs, phone numbers. Talk to them, tell your situations, ask their help. (Even after ten years, when I see my class mate trying for job, I ask their CV and spend sometime to ask my colleagues, forward, if they can help. So I am sure they will try to help you). Even some good people will ask if you need money and they will give you some bucks.2. If you are staying in village, travel to City like chennai, bangalore and look for relatives/friends accommodation. Then start your job search, while working with relatives/friends company/shop, if they offer you work.3. There are lot of small companies looking for candidates for less salary. get a list and Go to their offices/call them.4. You already have app development experience, you can highlight in your CV. 5. If the Apps are published, then remake it with Google Ads (can expect revenue after 6 months)6. You have blog, place paypal donation button "for survive", write techical/ interesting stuff continuously. May be you can post one article telling you need financial assistance to survive, and ask for projects/job.7. I guess you don't have suicide in mind, if you really have, talk to Sneha IndiaI wish & pray, you will have a good life.

Me being unemployed is really taking a toll on our relationship...?

So, I have been working a really good paying job, until the waiver I was working on was ended. Now I don't have a job. My boyfriend of 3 1/2 years keeps making comments like "I'm getting tired of doing this alone", "we don't have any money to do anything fun", "Look at this boat, to bad we can't get it" but all in snobby tones. The thing is I'm trying to find a job! I was literally out all day filling out applications for job, and will be tomorrow. I'm busting my butt trying to find something, but there's nothing in my area. I have told him a thousand times that I am trying to find a job and I'm just as stressed about it as he is, but he's not getting it. He still makes comments like I'm just sitting at home picking my nose all day, when I'm not. How do I get him to understand that I'm trying my best to get a job...

Ever been demoralized after a bad employment situation (bad boss-coworkers, firing)?

Sounds similar to my current situation , my company downsized , we were a three shift operation and went to one. We went from 80 union employees to 20 . We went from 5 supervisors to two. When we were at full capacity it was easy to work with one another as we all had our own responsibilities. When we down sized my manager gave no direction as to who would handle what , I couldn't work with my fellow supervisor as he was a control freak and wanted his hands on everything. I went from rave reviews to one bad one and my boss left me go , this is after 15 years of service. It felt at the time as he won , meaning the other supervisor was able to get rid of me , it made me feel inadequate. Now I'm on unemployment and exploring options in other fields. I know what you are saying though , I'm taking my time and waiting until I find something I know will be a good fit. Best of luck...

I am 26-year-old unemployed Indian male. What should I do?

Firstly, stop thinking about your age. We are living in a society where everything is time bound. Everything follows a timeline. According to people, you should have gained at least 3 years of work experience. Don't give a damn to any shit. And if you keep on thinking that I'm 26 and unemployed, then very soon you will going to post that I'm 28, single and unemployed. Obviously, you don't want this to happen. Let me tell you my story. I'm also 26 years old girl and soon going to turn 27. My condition was same as yours an year back. Even I used to think about all these things but gained nothing. Failed in many competitive exams. Then one fine day, I deactivated everything, facebook, instagram WhatsApp, everything which was distracting me and then worked hard to achieve my goal and finally I proved myself. Since then, no one asked me about my age, years I remained unemployed, nothing. Marriage proposals started flooding. I forgot to tell about my qualifications and how long I remained unemployed. Well, I'm an engineering graduate from an average college. Sitting at home since 2014 to 2017, unemployed. Hope you can understand my condition. But one thing which kept me going was hope and my instincts. I do not listen to anyone. I just follow my instincts. And then finally proved myself. If I would have taken a private job or any other job to remain busy and free from societal pressure, might be I will end up being depressed. It doesn't matter how long you remain unemployed. What matter is, steps you take to come out of that situation. Trust me, the one who are not following their heart and just doing job to earn their daily bread, their condition is worse that yours. I believe being unemployed is better than doing the job which doesn't interests you. This unemployment condition taught me so many lessons. Once you become employed, then you will realise that you were growing mentally and emotionally. So, just don't think about past. Free yourself from all the regrets and think about the reasons. Then dedicatedly, work towards it and after some months, you will be on track. And most importantly, keep yourself away from negativity and negative people. All the best and hope you will post some good news soon. Be optimistic.
