I really need help, because I want to buy this cologne kit for my boyfriend and I bought this 100 dollar Vanilla Visa gift card and I tried to order the the cologne kit which is almost 60 dollars and everything worked except for the expiration date. Why your Vanilla Visa gift card doesn't work on Facebook...?

I usually buy a $25 gift card every month for Facebook games. I prefer Master Card, but sometimes I forget to grab one, and have to go to the corner store, which only sells Vanilla Visa.

Long story short, Facebook would always decline them, and I would have to call Vanilla Visa customer service to have them "fix" the issue. Finally, the last agent I spoke to, explained to me why (bless her heart): In order to use Vanilla Visa on Facebook, you have to register your card using Facebook's zipcode: 94304. Don't ask me why...

So this month I made it a point to purchase a Vanilla Visa. I used the zip code 94304, and my card was accepted.

I still think it's kind of douchy that Facebook & Visa have it set up like that.... who would think to do that? So I thought I'd share the info, and hopefully save some of you guys the hassle I went through :)

Can i use my Vanilla Visa gift card online?

Both VISA and Mastercard gift cards can be used at online stores. You enter them as your payment just as if they are a normal VISA or Mastercard credit card.

There are two issues that frequently pop up:

When the store goes to authenticate your card it fails due to the address. A regular credit card has an actual address tied to it. The gift card obviously does not. Some web sites adapt to this - others don't.

When the tax and shipping are added in the total price exceeds the amount on the gift card.

Can You use a VANILLA VISA GIFTCARD to buy stuff on the playstation store?

I once used one $25 Vanilla Visa giftcard on my PlayStation 3. It went in just fine and I was able to purchase things off of PSN...
However, when I tried to put in a second Vanilla Visa giftcard on my account, it wouldn't work. It gave me the same error message you're getting.
Is this possibly the second Visa card on your account?

I would recommend using an actual credit card, or buying a PlayStation Network card instead - as mentioned above. It's really your best bet. They always work with the PlayStation's networking system. They come in $20 or $50 and can be found at WalMart (electronics department), Best Buy, Game Stop, or even some gas stations.

Does buying Wii points work with vanilla visa via wii shop?

The Vanilla Visa is a debit card, and it is accepted anywhere where Visa DEBIT cards are accepted (according to its website, that would me more than a million locations in North America). I would presume that Nintendo.com will accept it as well. Just make sure that your purchase is BELOW the prepaid amount on the credit card (calculate the taxes and/or shipping in advance), so that you won't get a declined transaction.
