Import Canon FS100 video footage onto Mac OS X?

The Canon FS100 is a flash memory based camcorder that saves highly compressed standard definition video.

You did not tell us which version of iMovie you are using.

BUT, download and install MPEG StreamClip
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/vi...

When you connect the FS100 with the USB cable, iPhoto may start automatically... Quit iPhoto. With the camera in Play mode, the memory should mount like any other external memory. If it does not, there is an interaction with iPhoto that needs to be fixed - rather than go through that here, just use a memory card reader. Take the card out of the camcorder and put it into the reader and that will mount to the desktop...

Read the camcorder's manual
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro...
When you locate the video files (they may be MOD or MPG files) copy them to the Mac - do not move or delete anything in the camcorder using the computer...

After the files are copied to the Mac, launch StreamClip. iMovie likes MOV and MP4 files... Convert the files. When the conversion is complete, quit Stream Clip and launch iMovie. Drag the converted files to the iMovie Capture area or the Clips pane (depends on the version) and edit in the timeline...

For what it is worth, you would need to take similar steps with Windows/Vista.

Another handy utility is Flip4Mac
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/vi...
to playback the video in QuickTime without converting first.

Mac or PC which is better, please lists. Pros and Cons?

What is an iPhone?

It's a small computer, about the size of a pack of cards, with a built-in screen. It's called an iPhone because it can function as a telephone. But it can be used as a general-purpose computer, too. You can download free and paid-for programs for it, called "apps": games, calendars, notepads, calculators, wen browsers, etc. Many people also use iPhones for listening to music. They ship with a headphone jack and can hold many songs on their internal hard-drives.iPhones are battery operated and must be recharged every one or two days, depending on how heavily you use them. You charge them by plugging them into an adapter that's in turn plugged into a wall outlet. Or you can plug them into a desktop or laptop computer. While you can connect them to external keyboards, most people don't. Typically, people interact with iPhones by tapping on their touch-sensitive screens. In addition to being able to sense touch, they can also read in a variety of other forms of input, including the angle they're being held (via an internal gyroscope), wifi signals, cellular signals, bluetooth signals, sound (via a microphone), and images (via a camera). Due to their versatility and small size, iPhones (and similar) are the devices that many people have been awaiting for main decades, predicted in shows like "Star Trek" (e.g. the "tricorder" and "communicator") and anticipated by other small, portable devices, such as Sony Walkmans, scientific calculators, and multifunction watches. They are manufactured by a company called Apple which brings out a new model (with more features) every year. Many other companies make iPhone accessories, such as cases, external lenses (for the camera), styluses (for drawing and writing on them without using fingers), and so on. Other companies compete with Apple by making similar devices, such as the Android and the Lumia. In addition, Apple (and other companies) make larger devices called "tablets" that are similar to iPhones. They are about the size of a paperback book (sometimes slightly larger) and have similar touchscreen technology.
