How Do You Delete Linux On A Failed Linux Installation Where Grub Booter Was Not Installed And

Problem with installing Ubuntu 12.04. Executing grub-install /dev/sda failed?

Hi, I was installing Ubuntu and I chose to install the updates too and to be alongside with my Windows 8 and everything was going well I was waiting the stuff to be copied etc. and then I got this fatal error - Executing grub-install /dev/sda failed? And I didn't know what to do I chose something to continue the installation (I think i chose my hard drive something like - dev/sda Hitachi 320GB) and pressed continue and it said to restart my PC and I did it then I removed my CD because I had to do it like, and when I restarted it Windows 8 popped out, and Ubuntu... like it wasn't installed, and I can't get in Ubuntu, and when I go to My Computer I see that 10GB are missing, so it's installed but I can't get in Ubuntu. How to fix it? Or at least how to remove it, to have my 10gigs back without formatting C:? Where did I go wrong, I was doing what Ubuntu was telling me, I probably shouldn't choose to download new updates...

How do I remove GNU grub and install windows boot loader?

Very easy. From the sound of it seems you have only one partition where Ubuntu is installed with Grub. To remove Ubuntu along with Grub and install Windows 10, just put your Windows 10 Installation Disk in your drive and boot your laptop. You may have to change the boot order first to make sure your computer boots from the DVD drive before touching the HDD. Alternatively, you may also create a Windows 10 Installation USB flash drive (I will elaborate on that if you ask me to) and boot from that.Next, from the Windows 10 installer that comes up, select the partition where Ubuntu is installed with/without Grub (Grub maybe installed in some other partition if you have any depending on other stuff) and select Format. If there are no options for Formatting, just select that partition to install Windows and Windows Setup will automatically format it before proceeding. This procedure will automatically install the Windows Boot Loader and Windows 10 ready for use in your machine.Reply if you encounter further problems.

Installing Grub to Cygwin?

You might want to post this on stackoverflow or some IRC channel, since this really good question is among silly ones.

Will changing my operating system delete all my files???

Probably the best thing you could do is to run a dual boot system with windows & ubuntu. When you install Ubuntu choose the dual boot option and Ubuntu will repartition your hard drive and install a boot loader (Grub) which gives you the choice of which OS to boot into. When it does this your files on windows will remain intact & you will be able to view & edit them when you are using Ubuntu. If you then want to remove the windows partition you can do this after you have transferred the files to your Ubuntu partition. Here is a web page with instructions how to install Ubuntu:

It always pays to back up any important data whatever you are doing with your computer, I had a hard drive failure recently, it can happen to anyone.

How can I access Windows after deleting Linux partition?

Its a very common problem if you delete the Linux partition.Lets first look into the cause of the problem and then we will automatically get to the solution.CAUSE- When you delete the partition containing the Linux, you also delete the grub configuration file present in the root folder in Linux. But Grub also is present in the EFI partition which boots before Windows bootloader. But it does not get any configuration file, and hence the error.SOLUTION- When the computer starts, open boot menu. Go to Boot Options. There you wil find Boot Order in which you will have OS Boot Manager(or any other phrase meaning the same). You will get 2 options “Grub” and “Windows Boot Manager”. Put “Windows Boot manager” above “Grub” and you are done.Enjoy :)

How do I uninstall Linux Zorin OS?

So you partitioned your hard drive and installed it (not "splitting your memory"). The only way to remove it would be to overwrite the partition with another OS or to delete that partition, re-size your other partition back to 100% of hard drive space, and fix your boot loader which will most likely be broken because I assume whatever Zorin is would use something like Grub...

If you know so little about computers that you refer to your hard drive as "memory" then you probably shouldn't be fiddling with such things as operating systems.
