How Do You Explain This Question

Can someone explain how to do this question?

Okay so first off turn the words into a drawing.

What is making all 4 carriages move? Obviously the carriages are tied together, so you can just think of them as one single object. What is the only unbalanced force acting on that huge object?

It is of course THE force that is required in the problem.
That force serves as the net force for the 4 carriages if there is no friction, slope, midgets slowing it down etc.
mass times acceleration
= 40,000 kg * 0.25 m/s^2
This is of course assuming the connections between carriages are taut, and that the engine is in front (technically, nothing would be stopping the engine from being in the middle of a train).

Can someone explain this question to me?

It's asking you how television and walking has an affect on your body metabolism. Before you answer this question, you need to know the definition of metabolism.
Metabolism is a collection of chemical reactions that takes place in the body's cells to convert the fuel in the food we eat into the energy needed to power everything we do, from moving to thinking to growing. Your body gets the energy it needs from food.
Every time you swallow a bite of sandwich or slurp a smoothie, your body works hard to process the nutrients you've eaten. Long after the dishes are cleared and the food is digested, the nutrients you've taken in become the building blocks and fuel needed by your body.

Now to answer your question, by watching television, you are slowing your metabolism down. The energy you get from your food stores as fat when you don't walk around and do sit down activities like watching TV. Your metabolism slows down by watching TV.
By walking, your body increases its metabolism. You are able to use almost all of the energy you gain from food. This also prevents you from getting fat.

How would you explain a question in a simple way?

That would depend entirely on the question. As yours was asked, it is impossible to say.

How do I explain my questions in Quora?

Thanks for A2AQuora used to have this feature where questions details could be added but Quora deprecated that feature couple of months back. Now, you simply ask a generic question and Quora community will bless you with their opinion depending on their understanding of the question. It is also interesting to see how differently a question can be evaluated and answered by different individuals.

Would someone please explain this question to me ?

Cost of goods sold is calculated by taking the beginning inventory, adding purchases, then subtracting ending inventory. Using the figures given you can see how that math works out. For 2008:

Beg Inventory + Purchases = COG available for sale
36,000 + 182,000 = 218,000

COG available - End Inventory = Cost of Goods Sold
218,000 - 37,000 = 181,000

Then Gross Profit is calculated by subtracting Cost of Goods Sold from Sales:

Sales - Cost of Goods Sold = Gross Profit
340,000 - 181,000 = 159,000

Now if ending inventory for 2008 was understated by 5,000 that is going to affect the cost of goods sold for that year as the amount subtracted from cost of goods available would be higher, resulting in a lower cost of goods sold.

COG available for sale - End Inventory = Cost of goods sold
218,000 - (37,000 + 5,000) = 176,000

This will increase the Gross Profit for 2008:
Sales - Cost of Goods Sold = Gross Profit
340,000 - 176,000 = 164,000

Now this is also going to affect 2009 as the beginning inventory for that year is understated as well.
Beg Inv + Purchases - End Inv = Cost of Goods Sold
(37,000 + 5,000) + 196,000 - 46,000 = 192,000

Sales - Cost of Goods Sold = Gross Profit
360,000 - 192,000 = 168,000

So the cumulative effect of the Dec 31 inventory balance being understated is zero, as '08 gross profit went up $5,000 ($164k - $159K) while '09 gross profit went down ($168k - $173k) assuming the Dec 31, 2009 inventory balance was correct.

How do you explain the difference between questioning and asking?

The other responses to the question are generally accurate. I simply want to emphasize an important difference between the verbs question and ask that has not been explained.Sometimes the difference between two words is explained by context— the situations in which a word is used. Both question and ask involve a conversation where one person gets information from another person by talking. In other words, the semantics (meaning) is very similar. However the context where the two words are used will be very different. The main difference here is in the relationship between the people who are talking. If I ask about a car accident you were in, it’s because our relationship is equal, friendly or positive. I probably trust you or want to help you.If I question you, though, it is because our relationship is unequal. Maybe I am in authority over you. Maybe I think you are lying to me.A good example of question used in journalistic English. It’s OK if the police ask you about something, but if they question you, you are probably being detained and are subject to their authority. (source: CNN)The verb question is associated with the police and legal system. You will often see question in newspaper stories about crimes. Question is also used in many different kinds of persuasive and academic writing. For example, a scientist might question a popular theory. Ask is used much more, is a neutral word (just an effort to get some information), and simply doesn’t have a strong association with power, authority, law, fact and truth. If English is not your first language, buy a good two language dictionary (the Oxford series are my favorite) published in YOUR COUNTRY and printed for speakers of your language who are learning English. Read the entry for question and notice that the good dictionary will include information on how the word is used. For example, if it’s used in medicine, you may see MED or a similar abbreviation within the entry for that word. These notations exist to help people choose the correct word for the situation.

How can I explain a question of my situation in limited words on here?

Quora’s goal is to make a repository of information. When you have a question that takes a lot of explaining, chances are that it’s a very niche problem or question and therefore won’t be helpful to outsiders. So basically, it’s because the questions you’re asking aren’t fit for this platform.

Can someone please answer and explain this question?

We are dealing with projectile motion here. The discuss will take the path of a parabola (inverted U). For a projectile, maximum height is given by

h = ((u sinθ)^2 )/(2 x g)
= ((20 * sin 45)^2)/2*9.8
= ((20 * 1/√2)^2)/18.6
= 10.7526882 m

Range is given by,
R = (u^2 sin2θ)/g
= (20*20*sin (2*45))/9.8
= (400*1)/9.8
= 40.8163265 m

Hope this helps
