How do I unlock my iPhone 5?
I have an iPhone 5 running the latest version of iOS 7 (7.0.3) on Verizon with the model number ND210LL/A. Is it possible to unlock it so I can use it with other carriers? Also, is unlocking an iPhone illegal?

It is not possible, because of bootloader defense mechanisms. The iPhone will only boot a binary signed by Apple. There are things that call themselves iOS Community Custom Firmware which you can run on a Jailbroken iDevice, but they are really just customized skins and application suites that run on a semi-crippled iOS that defeats application code signing.The same reason that you cannot downgrade iOS is the same reason you can't run a custom OS. The image signature is checked by the bootloader, and it fails to load if the check fails. Though your dad may be a bit of a techie, in most cases, he can't see your web history if it is deleted. Your dad can get on your phone by downloading some 'recovery' software off the internet which would allow him to view most things on your phone (aside from most deleted things - including web history), but.... 1) The Computer Misuse Act states that it's illegal to hack/access data that isn't legally his or open source, or without your consent. 2) It's a bit of a weird thing to do, and unless he wants to look like a total dick, he wouldn't risk doing that. Here's something useful for ya: Go into Settings > Safari > and switch on Private Browsing for the internet (saves you deleting history over and over again) - but remember to turn it back off when you aren't using it otherwise black and white safari would seem a bit obvious ;) you'll know what I mean once you switch it on. Oh and with the Wifi thing... This is one I am actually not too sure about. They do have monitoring software out there, but who knows if he uses it or not. Chances are, no.
