How Do You Get Over An Addiction

How do I get over sexual addiction?

I used to joke that because my drug of choice is “on-board”, sexual addiction had me coming & going.…and coming again! But sexual addiction is no joke. In fact, it has become a national epidemic with current estimates placing between 3-6% of the population (or 9-18 million people) as suffering from its wrath. To the best of my knowledge, there is no “cure” for addiction - regardless of what form it takes. It warrants mentioning that I have personally exercised numerous different treatment options including a 4-week inpatient facility called Keystone that specializes in the treatment of sexually compulsive behavior (though, to be fair, I was a “unique case” who was compelled to stay an additional 2 weeks).I have also attended hundreds of AA, NA & SA meetings as their general message & format are all quite similar. In addition, there is almost no book on addiction or recovery that I haven't read.My take-home message?Education is great.Abstinence is great.Hanging out with like-minded people who are working on themselves & encouraging you to be accountable is great. But unless you are prepared to shift your entire belief system & literally rewire your brain, you are fighting a frustratingly uphill battle. The good news? It can be done. I’ve done it. Unfortunately, I prematurely hit the “Done” button by mistake & don’t have the option to save my work & return to it. If you're truly interested to know what this looks like, let me know & I’ll be more than happy to share what worked for me.Good luck!

How can I get over my addiction of yaoi?

Its simple really. Just stop.
It might not seem simple but you have to make an effort to do something else. Taking a break from it for a few weeks might aswell be a good option.

How can I get over my hentai addiction?

Actually, the fact that you recognize an "addiction" means that you are willing to admit your obsession with Hentai. Sometimes, especially in our teen years, we tend to become obsessive over different "new" things. Your concern over whether or not someone will "find out" shouldn't be paramount in your way of thinking. Now that you have recognized that there is a problem you need to focus on activities, other than on line searching, that you can participate in.

How do I help a Pisces get over an addiction?

My boyfriend is a Pisces, with a Libra moon and an Aquarius Mars.
He smokes weed several times a day. His parents hate it, I tolerate it, but would rather see him less dependent on it. Whenever he doesn't have any, if even for an hour, he becomes angry and irritated, immediately going through his phone to see who he can buy from. All of his friends either smoke or sell pot. I smoke occasionally, about once every two weeks I'd guess, but I'm not a habitual smoker and I'm around it constantly.
I know he won't listen to me or do what I say if I try to force him into anything, so what can I do to try to help him?

Omegle: How do I get over Omegle addiction?

By switching to something else (such as Chatroulette...na just kidding.) Don't "find a hobby." Don't "get a girl." Don't "smoke some grass." Don't watch other people's Hollywood lives.See the fable "The Stag at the Pool" or just think: what is most truly valuable is often underrated. Whatever you're thinking of--besides the short list above--do that. Ogh and answer Qs on Quora or Stackexchange! Meandering through Coursera is also good.If you have Chrome, install StayFocused. If you still do, install Block Site (or Norton Parental Controls for Android). If you STILL do, join HabitRPG | Gamify Your Life...If you STILL do?! watch ZOOM and CONTROL 40 Web Cameras to replace the video Omegle. On a personal note, it is not easy to just waste time in another outlet. I use to be on Omegle for hours. I have also spent essentially two and a half days watching movies on this free website. It is a behavioral cause. For the long-term, try to look into ways of creating rewards and consequences. This is a conditioning method, and HabitRPG is an easy way to do this. I also suggest looking for role models around you. I have sought out them on "role model" websites, but not many are involved. This is "modeling therapy."

How do I get over the addiction to novelty?

It looks like you are stuck in the lower hemisphere and you thinking hasn't gone beyond the television, video game and the excitement they once generated for you at an earlier time in your development.  Anyone is going to get bored and seek new bells and flashing lights when they have never gone beyond the challenge of genuine, scholarlyresearch.  It's fine if you want to be at the level you are shooting for but you won't be fulfilled by the temporary solution you are provided for now.If you interest doesn't go beyond the stage you're at now, seek a challenge like chess, archery, running, cycling,  You haven't faced any real challenges yet because you, in your own words," are on a cycle, infinite and you cant seem to get off."Anything that is truly challenging is gong to be hard work and will test your skill and  mental capacity, but will also give you the satisfaction of being better at something youknew little about before.  Most of the entertainment today centers on keeping a passiveparticipant happy until the next novelty comes along.  What you want is what you get in life, my friend,  is up to you, and your enemy is time.  Don't waste it.

How do you get over a Fanfiction Addiction?

HELP ME!
I want to go on FF so badly, but I shouldn't cos my parents were super mad when they found out I was on it. I was thinking about sneaking back on a couple of weeks back, but I decided that I shouldn't. I sometimes go on Fanfiction and read a couple of stories, but don't post anything on because I'm afraid I'll slip into the habit of never going off of the computer. I really miss my friends on FF, and I want to talk to them so bad, but I said goodbye and now it feels like I should stay off for awhile.
Does anyone have any suggestions what to say to get my parents to let me on, like, once a week? Or maybe something that will help me get over FF?
I've been off of it for exactly.....64 days. I don't know what to do....
HELP PLEASE!
