How Do You Get Rid Of A Cold Very Quick Without Cold And Cough Medicine

How do i get rid of or sooth a cough without cough medicine?

hello !! I have read some of the answers and they are good.I can add to this an old remedy given to me by my grandma

aloe vera gel ( from at least two fat aloe leaves)
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup brandy
juice from two lemons squeezed

take the aloe gel and place in blender with the rest of ingredients. Blend well. Place in a glass jar with lid. Keep in refriegerator and drink a shot 3 to 4 times a day.

--------------------------------------...

take ginger root ( root should be smooth and plump , not dry looking or wrinkly)
peel the ginger root well
you can either chop it really well or grate it.
( I prefer to grate it and get all the juices out )
boil water and place at least two tablespoons of grated ginger in cup. Season with honey. If you find this to be to spicy you can add cremora ( non lactose creamer)
drink this at least three times a day

please remember to drink plently of water to facilitate your body in the processs of expectorating your chest congestion.

You can also take a little piece of cloth and place a bar of what we call " alcanfor", it is a white square that smells like menthol. place this under your pillow at night and it will ease your breathing. You can also boil some water , take off stove, place vicks or the menthol tablet in water, or eucalyptus essential oil (few drops only) place towel over head and drape over pot ( careful not to get to close and burn yourself) inhale this and you also will get relief/

Garlic is wonderful for everything including chest congestion and cough. Take garlic cloves and make a tea or include garlic in your soups, and food preparations. If you can not stomach garlic take the odorless garlic pills.

Keep your chest well covered and if possible at night have someone rub vicks on your chest and back and put on a nice comfy t-shirt, also put vicks on the bottom of your feet and put some socks on. You will see how well you breathe.

To avoid a lot of congestion , stay away from dairy like milk and cheese for a while , they cause mucus in your respiratory system.

Rest, keep warm, drink plenty of fluids and most of all relax.
Hope you feel better.
Happy holidays!!!

i have a cold, and im starting to hate it, and im always tired. i always have sore throat, i get coughs every 5 seconds, i get sneezes every 3 minutes, and it's starting to get really annoying. i'm getting braces next week, and i need to have it without a cold/cough, because otherwise, i would cough while my orthodontist put my braces on. so today's friday, and orthodontist in next wednesday. i tried some high vitamin C fruits and drinks, drank lots of water, about 3 1/2 a day, got asked by a doctor, but it won't work. so im asking please help me to get rid of it before my braces get on my teeth! :) thanks

Any good over the coutner medicine for cold and cough?

a cough is usually due to mucas running down the back of your throat. Either its sinus or viral/bacteria try Robitusim or tylenol cold and allergy. Nothing will cure it only relieve the syptoms.

Can you survive a common cold/flu without medicine?

It depends on the person’s health state and his/her immunity—if there are no external exposures weakening your immune system (lack of sleep, huge stress, is under a lot of pressure, etc) then yes, it is possible that you will be able to recover from a cold without any medicines. Most of the pills are only effective to reduce the symptoms anyway, and not defeat the main cause of the flu itself.Exception if you’re an allergic and your body reacts heavily to the allergens. It’s most likely a little more difficult for allergics to get rid of flu, and usually the flu hits them harder. In this case I think medicines are required so the flu doesn’t interrupt your daily activities.Eat more water than usual, followed by fresh fruits and most importantly, get enough (or more!) sleep. Your immune system would thank you for that.

What is the best cough medicine?

If it's a pretty bad cold (you feel achey, & have stuffy nose &/or fever too) then use Dayquil for the day & Nyquil @ nite. They work really good. The Dayquil gives you a little energy to get through the day if you still have to go to school or work, & the Nyquil helps you sleep better @ nite so you can get better faster plus relieves your symptoms.
