How Do You Get Rid Of Derealization

How to get rid of derealization?

Derealization sucks. Maybe the worst part is that the more you think about it..... the more power you give it. The reason it's a little better at school is because you are distracted with your work and are not feeding the DR..... Unfortunately, as long as you are having panic attacks you will be likely to have periods of DP/DR. And yes, they can and do last for weeks or months after the attack. You need to see a doctor and get the anxiety under control. It is not caused by Adderall, you have not fried your brain.... it is a normal side effect of panic/anxiety. There is no treatment for it other than to treat the underlying cause which in your case is panic attacks. I'd avoid pot also if I were you because it can also cause DP/DR.

What you are doing right now is feeding it. All your anxiety and worrying is like bread and jelly to DP/DR. The more you feed it, the stronger it gets. Go see a doctor or therapist, get control of the anxiety, stop thinking about the DR, stop noticing it. Easier said than done, it takes practice and work but it's not going to go away until you do.

Getting rid of Derealization?

Just accept it. There's nothing you can do about it, and It will fade eventually. This was the advice I got several months ago. I didn't like it, it made it sound like the DR would never go away. But I followed the advice. When It was strong, or if I were staring at some piece of furniture, thinking it looked unreal, and It felt like I was staring at a photo rather than reality, I followed the advice. I accepted that this was happening because I had high levels of anxiety, and learned to not mind it, not care about it.
It faded away, and now I have almost forgot that I ever experienced DR. Go to a therapist though, that helped me a lot.

How do i get rid of derealization?

It doesnt just go away. There are treatments. You have to get help if you havent done so, therapy would work best I dont think you need medication. Wouldnt want your mind to rely on meds.

Try meditating. it helps heaps. it helps me with depersonalisation. The only way to overcome it is to pretty much just not think about it. As hard as that sounds, you have to just try, meditation will help. By stop thinking about it, means to stop searching for things about it, how to get 'rid' of it, stop watching vids about how to overcome it. Coz i got the answer right up here ^

Good luck, all the best

How can derealization be cured?

Feeling unreal is an unfortunate disorder that detaches you from everything you used to love. Like you, I personally haven’t found a cure yet, but fortunately many people have. Here’s a list of things mentioned by people who have recovered:Re-engage with the world, connect with family and friends, meditate, take long walks and observe the beauty and sounds of nature, give and receive affection, enjoy the little things, meet up with old acquaintances, have meaningful conversations, touch and feel the textures of objects in detail, eat a healthy balance diet, intake more zinc and less copper, certainly avoid alcohol and drugs, avoid stressful situations that make you anxious, become occupied with a hobby and be consistent about it but don’t burn yourself out, talk to a psychiatrist since anti-depressants/anti-anxiety medication may mitigate the effect, read success stories in forums, become aware of your surroundings, use all your senses to observe the things around you, smell the roses, take cold showers, exercise daily.

Depersonalization cure?

http://www.panic-anxiety.com/depersonalization-derealization/

Depersonalization and derealization are symptoms of an anxiety disorder.

IT IS 100% curable.

I had both when I was suffering from an anxiety disorder a few years ago. And yes anxiety disorder is causes by too much stress.

They key is to stop thinking about it, i now that sounds to simple and youve probably tried to do that already. But your probably doing it the wrong way.

They key is not to stop thinking about it, but to stop thinking about thinking about it.

Just like a manual gear car everytime you have the feeling of depersonalization you have to manually change your mind to something else.

It can be hard at first, but the longer you do it the easier becomes, untill your reach a point where your sympstoms are 100% gone.

Im living proof that it is 100% curable, i suffered depersonalization, derealization, panic attacks, ocd a two years ago (Im 20 now) and by following the method i pointed out (created by charles Linden) i am 110% of what i use to be.

Is there a way to get rid of derealization and depersonalization without medication?

Parents just don't realize to care, they see it as a stage your going through and you'll be alright, part of it might be they just don't want to admit there is something wrong with the kid they made ( so if anybody should be killing anybody....) But you can try to treat this without medication, and may be even more successful! Don't watch too much T.V. ( I suggest none at all), it's a constant barrage on your mind and sense of reality. Start watching what you eat. No junk, the brain has to live off what you eat, remember that, it makes a big difference, eating healthy or not. And start an enjoyable exercise, brisk walking is great for beginners. The brain gets feedback from the body that affects the brain's chemistry. Brisk walks have been proven to improve a person's moods, and they offer many more benefits as well. Keep it enjoyable, and feel free to up the notches once you've gotten fully broken into exercising regularly for a few months. Cycle, Weight-Lift, whatever will help guide your mind and brain towards reality and your life in a better direction at the same time. I think most people are derealizations and depersonalizationed, they just don't notice it, or think it's normal. It's kinda today's society, with facebook and such, nobody is real anymore. The medications could give you unexpected results, so it's more iffy than it seems in trying to make that decision.

How do i get rid of depersonalization/derealizatio...

Depersonalization/derealization: Opester, a therapist with more than 20 years of experience, specialising in dissociative disorders, and former contributor here, provided a post which is well worth viewing at: http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind... Regard DP/DR as being purely temporary.

Advice from other therapists, and sufferers: When affected, run your hands under cold water for several minutes. Adapt the following to your situation: Look around and find 5 colours; feel 4 different textures; smell 3 different odours, and taste 2 different things. Focus on your hands for several minutes, multiple times daily. Try snapping a rubber band on your wrist, lightly, at first, then increasingly harder; remove afterwards, and pocket.

Give the EFT a good tryout, to see if it helps you. It is free via the searchbar at http://www.mercola.com "EFT" & "EFT therapists" or www.tapping.com (13 free videos). Professional is best. - There is a version for use in public places, (if you want to, you can claim to have a headache, as you employ the acupressure massage/tapping on your temples, but you would then be restricted to subvocalising: [repeating to yourself in your mind] ) "Even though I sometimes suffer from depersonalization/derealization, I deeply and completely accept myself". Use the PMR, at http://www.drcoxconsulting.com/managing-...

DP/DR often results from anxiety/panic attacks, so if this applies in your case, see http://your-mental-health.8m.com/blank_25.html re anxiety, and/or panic, then pages h, & i. Depression; see pages 3, & b. Neo-Reichian therapy has been recommended for DP/DR, but I suggest using the above treatments for at least several weeks, as they may well be all that are required.
