How Do You Know When Influence Is Legal Vs Illegal

Is being under the influence of marijuana illegal (not possession)?

No, only if you have it on you.

Is it illegal to sign any documents under the influence of heavy medication?

No. Of course it is not illegal to sign something.

(Do you want to be criminally charged for signing something?)

Can you REVERSE your decision to sign something? It's possible, but not very likely. (Have you ever tried putting the toothpaste BACK into the tube?)

Are you or were you driving? Do you have a valid license? If your answer is no, then your attorney might have a shot at getting your statements suppressed. If you have a license and you do drive while you are taking these "heavy medications" then it is very, very unlikely.

Do you have information from your doctor or pharmacist that says that you need to stay home and avoid signing legal documents while you are taking these medications? (Generally post-operative patients will receive something that says that need to avoid signing legal documents, making important decisions for 24 hours.)

It is very unlikely that the medication you are taking will justify reversing this.

EDIT: "by Buzzy's" practice of writing "under duress" doesn't mean a darn thing. Duress requires that a person be in fear for his life or safety. (Meaning, you are under duress if there is a gun pointed at your head or you are being told that you're going to get your a$$ beat if you don't sign.) You can try writing "signed under PROTEST" and you might get a judge to look more carefully at the facts and circumstances.

Why is it legal to drive under the influence of Crystal meth in Las Vegas but not legal to drive under the influence of alcohol or marijuana?

Your question contains a fallacious assumption. It is equally unlawful to drive under the influence of methamphetamine. Nevada Revised Statutes Section 484C.110 states, in part:NRS 484C.110  Unlawful acts; affirmative defense; additional penalty for violation committed in work zone or pedestrian safety zone. [Effective until the date of the repeal of the federal law requiring each state to make it unlawful for a person to operate a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent or greater as a condition to receiving federal funding for the construction of highways in this State.]1.  It is unlawful for any person who:(a) Is under the influence of intoxicating liquor;(b) Has a concentration of alcohol of 0.08 or more in his or her blood or breath; or(c) Is found by measurement within 2 hours after driving or being in actual physical control of a vehicle to have a concentration of alcohol of 0.08 or more in his or her blood or breath, to drive or be in actual physical control of a vehicle on a highway or on premises to which the public has access.2.  It is unlawful for any person who:(a) Is under the influence of a controlled substance;(b) Is under the combined influence of intoxicating liquor and a controlled substance; or(c) Inhales, ingests, applies or otherwise uses any chemical, poison or organic solvent, or any compound or combination of any of these, to a degree which renders the person incapable of safely driving or exercising actual physical control of a vehicle, to drive or be in actual physical control of a vehicle on a highway or on premises to which the public has access. The fact that any person charged with a violation of this subsection is or has been entitled to use that drug under the laws of this State is not a defense against any charge of violating this subsection.[emphasis added]The statute goes on to set illegal per se blood concentration limits for alcohol and various controlled substances. It is quite illegal to drive under the influence of “crystal meth” in Las Vegas, and everywhere else I know of.

Why is it illegal in some states to drive under the influence of marijuana, yet I can't find any proof that it impairs driving?

Why is it illegal in some states to drive under the influence of marijuana,It’s illegal in every state to drive impaired. The source of the impairment is irrelevant, whether it be from alcohol, prescription medication, sleeping pills, NyQuil™, or anything else you ingest that may impair motor function.yet I can't find any proof that it impairs driving? The proof is in the pudding, as they say.A charge of impaired driving starts with a law enforcement officer observing behavior which may indicate a driver who is under the influence of a substance which impairs motor function. The officer stops the vehicle and performs some roadside tests which demonstrate the driver’s ability to function. This body of evidence is then used to make a determination as to whether or not the driver is impaired. The truth is we don’t have to know exactly what substance is impairing the driver. We don’t have to know how much of the substance was ingested. There doesn’t need to be a Breathalyzer test to determine how much THC is present in the bloodstream. Impaired driving is a traffic infraction wherein the driver is impaired by an ingested substance which so affects motor function that driving a car becomes unsafe. It is a subjective charge made by the officer.TL;DR: The substance itself doesn’t determine whether or not you can be charged with driving under the influence. The driver’s motor functions do.

Why is polygamy illegal but it is legal to have an orgy?

Polygamy is marriage. Orgies are just sex. So having sex isn't legally binding while marriage is.

Polygamy is illegal but is unofficial polygamy legal?

If you've watched the show, surely you've seen all the hatred they receive whenever anybody finds out!

All the pain and heartbreak they go through has nothing to do with legality- they hide it because people wouldn't shop at Henrickson's Hardware if they knew it was run by a polygamist, because employees would quit in protest, because nobody would go into business with him, because their kids would be teased and other parents wouldn't want their kids hanging around the kids of polygamists, because they'd be kicked out of any clubs or organizations to which they belonged, because their friends would leave them, their family would disown them, the neighbors would talk and stare, and essentially, the world would be completely hostile.

Poly people face all of these challenges- people telling them that their love isn't really real if they don't want to be monogamous, that they're just cheaters or want to have an affair, that they're sexual deviants, that they're unfit to raise children, that they're going to hell, and so on and so on. It's no wonder you wouldn't want to tell anybody, not when you're going to face that kind of persecution.

Also, if you want to watch a great little online web series featuring some polyamorous people (without the religious aspect of Mormonism/The LDS Church), you should check out "Family" . . . it's awesome and produced by a polyamorous family!

Are bribes legal or illegal?

This depends on who you are. Are you a wealthy individual or CEO or acting on behalf of a charity or company? Then it is legal to bribe politicians who control the law, as long as you call it a political contribution. If you want you could even donate to their respective charities anonymously to the tune of millions and nobody would ever know who donated it or even that the politician benefited from that money since it’s all behind shell company names. Are you a regular guy trying to bribe any other government official? Then it is illegal. For any non-government career it really doesn’t matter. You can do whatever you want with your currency and give it to anyone you please, it’s only illegal to bribe government-related folk (politicians, police, post office workers) due to anti-corruption laws, but as you can see it’s apparently all too easy to find loopholes, or just “donate” to a politician to make one for you. Be careful with the word choice, that’s apparently the only difference between global influence and jail time.

Polygamy is illegal but is unofficial polygamy legal?

I watch this show Big Love..Now they keep their polygamy a secret..but why? I know legal polygamy is not available/illegal...BUT say in this show he has 'real wife' and two subsequent "sister wife's"..He is NOT married legally to the two subsequent sister wife's just spiritual married..SO why the secrecy? He isn't 'legally' married to the two others so whats the problem in hiding it.. Do people hide it to avoid scrutiny and looked down upon from others or is this type of not official polygamy legal or illegal?

**I am not talking about polygamy that supports underage marriages
