Who is a Good Muslim?
As a matter of fact, this is a very good question. And the answer should be made clear to every Muslim in order to be able to adjust him/herself for a better position on the day of judgement.Who is a Muslim and Who is a good Muslim is a good Muslim is two completely different things all together and we must know the difference Insha Allah.A good Muslim is always conscious of the following three Questions:Who you are, your purpose of life, and your destination! (follow the link to read this article)The first question I need to ask myself is where was I before I was born? Then I need to ask myself where am I right now, and how long will I be here? And then I need to ask myself, where am I going to go after my heart stops beating, when this body of mine is separated from the soul? The only way I will know the answers to these question is by referring to revelation. Go back to Allah because nobody else has the answer. Science cannot help you. Medicine cannot help you. Those with PhDs cannot help you. The most educated person on the globe cannot help you. The machinery and technology we have will not help you. Nothing will help you. But revelations will help you answer the questions. So in order to find these answered and to identity who a good Muslim is, Who a Muslim is and who a bad Muslim is, Please follow the link bellow to discover that. It’s very lengthy, so it’s better I just give you the link.WHO IS A GOOD MUSLIM
What does it mean to be a good Muslim? How does a good Muslim look like?
Salaam.A good Muslim is everything that RasulAllah (s.a.w) taught us to be. Modest, humble, down to earth, sincere, just, compassionate, empathetic, considerate, charitable, selfless and as much as possible, sinless, far from vice and corruption. You cannot physically describe a ‘good Muslim’. I know some exemplar Muslims, who at first glance, don’t even look religious. To be a ‘Mo’min’ one has to first of all be a good human being and incorporate some of the aforementioned qualities. Once these have become a part of your personality, you can advance to a higher level of self improvement. The outward appearance of a Muslim, I believe, must be a modest one. There is nothing wrong in looking sharp and stylish, but we probably should try not to get to a point where vanity sets in. It was vanity and pride that brought about the downfall of Iblis (Satan).I’d like to conclude with this excerpt from a sermon of our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).RasulAllah (s.a.w) describes the believer in his sermon:“Blessed is he who earns his living through lawful ways and he whose inward status is good, outward is decent; spends his surplus wealth in charity; abstains from excessive talking; people remain safe of (any) evil from him; he treats others with justice. Surely whoever believes in Allah fears Him, and whoever fears Allah guards himself against the evils of this world.”I hope this answers your question satisfactorily.Thank you for the A2A.
I'm a Muslim BUT I'm having SERIOUS DOUBTS. I don't know if I want to be a Muslim?
Believe me, i've been there. I tried to go by all the rules, but it was so maddening. So i started eating any kind of meat (except pork of course) from regular non-"halaal" sources. i love violin music, so i listen to that a lot. i sleep on whatever side is comfortable for me, or my back or my stomach (it is not obligatory, but recommended to sleep on right side anyways). i dye my hair too (as far as i know there is no ruling against this). i eat at a table too (i never heard anything about eating on the floor...) seriously, just read the qur'an, do your five daily salat, and you'll be fine. i tried going by hadiths, but there are so many of them (and some of them are not authentic anyways). and some hadith are to be taken in context. oh and about slavery...i think it is allowed but you must treat your slaves fairly. there are many different perceptions of slavery in different cultures too. not everyone whipped and beat their slaves like what has happened with the blacks in america. in many cultures, a slave actually becomes a part of the family. and remember that in the eyes of God, there is no difference between a slave and a rich man, because they are all equal. also remember that Bilal was a slave who was set free from his cruel master by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), who sent Abu Bakr to "buy" him and set him free. but we don't keep slaves anymore these days, so you don't have to worry so much about that.

As a Muslim, what do you think makes someone a good Muslim?
First, the personality. Even if he/she prays five times a day, fasts and goes to Hajj and does the other requirements of Islam, if one is envious, lustful, liar or stingy, I prefer a moral atheist to him/her.Then the loyalty to God with questioning your being comes in the mind. If one just does the basic requirements of Islam but doesn’t even think about Allah, doesn’t search other religions and ask to himself/herself: “What is the difference between Islam and Christianity or Judaism?” or “If I wasn’t born to a Muslim family, which religion I would have practise?” Because sadly, many illiterate Muslims recognize Christianity and Judaism as hedonist religions and think that every people they see from Western countries represent their religion while shouting: “ISIS doesn’t represent Islam!” and same goes for other so-called Islamist terrorist organizations. On the other hand, some people who are very hedonist and lazy to spend just a half hour for daily prayings: “I cannot pray but I am a good person, so I am a good Muslim.” No you are not because Shaytan makes you think like that, thus you are influenced by him.Simply personality is very important for a Muslim to be a real Muslim while illiberality transforms you into a simple parrot who repeats Allah’s words but doesn’t know its meaning.
How does a Muslim know they will go to heaven?
All genuine believers will go to heaven, with all their sins forgiven, according to God in the Quran:[48:5] He will certainly admit the believing men and women into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath wherein they shall permanently remain, and He will wipe out their bad deeds. This is a great triumph with God.[61:10] O you who believe, shall I inform you of a trade that will save you from a painful punishment?[61:11] It is to believe in God and His messenger and to strive in the cause of God with your money and your lives. That is better for you if you only knew.[61:12] He will then forgive your sins for you and admit you into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath and fine dwellings in the gardens of eternity. That is the great triumph.
Why do I feel like a bad Muslim when am doing a lot more good that I used to? Am trying my absolute best to please Allah but at times when I make a tiny mistake I feel extremely guilty and think Allah is angry and won't even accept my prayers now ;(
Why do I feel like a bad Muslim when am doing a lot more good that I used to? Am trying my absolute best to please Allah but at times when I make a tiny mistake I feel extremely guilty and think Allah is angry and won't even accept my prayers now ;(I was going through a similar phase a few years back. I would be working and suddenly start to cry thinking of God’s anger or displeasure with me. Sometimes, I would even wake up at night and start crying.I would talk to people around me. I would ask them how to avoid God’s displeasure. They would advise me to do the usual things. I would again come back to the point,“What if God is still angry with me?”“What if God does not forgive me??”I simply could not come to terms that God would forgive me. And it was putting a big strain on me. I would be depressed and sad all day. I would cry during prayers, sometimes at work, sometimes in the night. One day, I did what I should have done right from the beginning. I prayed. I put my heart and soul into my prayer. I asked God for peace of mind. I prayed that I could not handle this strain anymore. I asked for His forgiveness. I asked for His help to reassure myself that I would be forgiven. From the next day, I felt like a weight had lifted off me. I was much happier. I had regained my lost faith in God’s forgiveness.I still commit sins today. But now, I ask for God’s forgiveness as soon as I realize that. And I believe in His forgiveness.I suggest that you find a way to believe in His forgiveness. Always remember:When the believers in Our revelations come to you, say, “Peace be upon you! Your Lord has taken upon Himself to be Merciful. Whoever among you commits evil ignorantly ˹or recklessly˺ then repents afterwards and mends their ways, then Allah is truly All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” Quran 6:54
