What's the best way to take notes while driving and listening to an audio book?

Here’s what I currently do on a Samsung Galaxy (Android) phone.Start an audiobook in Audible, usually via home page widget. The phone usually sleeps the screen, and locks itself after an amount of time. When I want to take a note, if the phone is locked I have to wake up the phone with the home button. Then I have to unlock the phone, by a swipe in the least secure configuration. Then I can hold the home button to get Google Assistant to pop up.I tell it “Take a Note in Keep”. You have to be specific about which app you want to take your note in or you’ll have to select it manually which adds another button you have to press.Google Assistant will pause the audiobook, record your note, save it to Keep and translate it to text. Then it will restart the audiobook automatically. This is the smoothest process I’ve found for handling recording notes while driving and listening to an audiobook.Theoretically Google Assistant should respond to “Hey Google” from the lock screen, but my experience with it has been spotty. Holding the home key is much more reliable to get the assistant to pop up, but this doesn’t work from the lock screen even with the lowest security settings configured.I love the idea of using Google Assistant to record the note, because it pauses the audio while you record - almost any other solution is going to require you to have the book’s audio in your voice note, and to also probably rewind the audiobook by about the amount of time you recorded the voice note. All of these things add processing cycles which would probably best be used to keep your vehicle in your lane.I think Audible needs to come up with a solution for this integrated into their listening apps.

Advantages and disadvantages of note taking while listening to a speaker in a room?

Maybe record the speaker as well as listening? Especially if this is a special speaker whom you think may be really great. However, I would also take notes, even if it is just a little bit. It'll help you learn and help you remember.

Another good trick is take rough notes, then immediately afterward, find a quiet corner and read your notes and add to them while you can still "hear" that person in your head. With practice you can get really good at this and it's a great skill to have.

If you do end up transcribing the interview recording, I have learned that having some written notes too makes it easier to do the transcription.

Enjoy! I hope you are looking forward to a great speaker.

How to play 32nd note runs on trumpet?

Unless the notes are written as slurred you need to tongue each and every note. If you have not already done so, now is the time to learn to double tongue. I really can't teach you how to double tongue over the internet--it's best to use an instructor who can listen to what you are doing and make corrections. Next best is to listen to some explanations on the internet (YouTube) and try to figure it out that way--find some of the clips that don't just demonstrate by also explain techniques. I have found that there are 2 keys--the first is learning to relax your tongue. When it's not relaxed it isn't nearly as quick as it needs to be. The other is to find the right syllables to use for you. Ta/Ka works better for me than Tu/Ku or Too/Koo--but to each his own--I know a guy who is quite successful using Du/Gu (sounds like he's saying dug a). Takes some work, but you can learn to do it.

What does it mean when musicians say "you have to listen to the notes they are not playing," especially in regards to jazz?

The answers given so far are needlessly flowery, philosophical and vague. They do nothing to concisely illustrate the beauty of jazz to the average person. Here's the real reason: In jazz, often times a single well-placed note can imply an entire chord that is both "witty" (unexpected) and beautiful. That's because the chart only gives a guideline but the soloist has the freedom to substitute or transform the chord appropriately, as long as it still makes sense within the context. The more you listen to jazz, the more you become aware of its radical chord conventions and therefore the more easily you can become one of the listeners who are impressed by "oooh that TASTY note". You don't even need to understand the technical music theory to enjoy it; you just need to have listened to jazz enough to be familiar with its sounds. The note is tasty not only because of itself, but also because of the entire implied chord that your brain imagines; it is so witty and powerful that it made your mind imagine 3 or 4 other notes. Actually the most beautiful situations is when the soloist outlines 2 or 3 of the most crucial notes in an exotic chord he wants to communicate, and leaves out the 2 or 3 "easy/obvious notes" in the chord for us mere mortals to "fill in the blanks". That is why jazz is so beautiful and clever. It is also why average people sometimes have difficulty understanding why jazz sounds so good to us. People who think jazz sounds like random notes are simply unable to "fill in the blanks".

I want to know if anybody did this spanish .Part2: listening comprehention. please help"la caperosita roja".?

Part 2—Listening Comprehension
You will hear a story in Spanish. " La caperosita roja"It’s rather lengthy. As you listen to the story, take notes on scrap paper.
Listen a second time, and as you listen, make your notes more complete. In English, summarize the
story in a composition of between ten and twenty sentences. Print or type the final version of your summary
in the appropriate location on the answer sheet provided at the back of this study unit.

Can I learn to play video games and listen to lectures at the same time?

I am not a huge gamer, but I would assume this would depend heavily on which game you are playing and what stage you are at in it. If you are playing a game or at a stage in which you are using a lot of cognitive cycles or it is highly demanding of your attention, at times which are beyond control, I can see a conflict. But many games have “down” times in which you are able to gain points while exploring or collecting objects, etc. whereby you have many free cognitive cycles to expend elsewhere (So do many lectures for that matter.)In this way, the two can be harmonious. Many - but not all - people who did this in my classes did well. Some, on the other hand, did not. Here’s why I think this is the case:Consider an analogy. Drivers on cell phones get into significantly more car crashes than drivers chatting with a single passenger riding alongside. This is because when you’re in a conversation and something unusual happens where more of your concentration is required (e.g. approaching an intersection, driver behaving erratically, etc.), usually a passenger who’s in the car will naturally pause the conversation and let you focus on the situation at hand. A speaker over the phone keeps talking, none the wiser, dividing your attention at a crucial time.If you’re going to have success with the above, you need to master the art (and discipline) of pausing the game during periods where a higher degree of attention to the lecture is required.
