How do you cook bacon on the stove?

Lay individual pieces in a pan, add nothing. Turn heat on med. and watch it. The grease will splatter. As the bacon cooks, and shrivels, you can turn it over with a fork to cook both sides.

Stove top bacon makes a mess, because you then have all that grease to deal with. Don't pour the grease down the drain. Discard by using an old coffee can.

IA better idea is to use the microwave. It comes out GREAT!

Lay several layers of paper towel down, put about 5 slices down next to each other, then cover with another 2 pieces of paper towel. I usually set the timer for 1 min per slice. Once it's done to your liking, the paper towel absorbs all the grease, which makes cleaning up nice and easy. You don't have to turn the bacon, and it holds its shape fantastic.

Im hungry now!

Bacon; cook on the stove-top or in an oven?

At home I cook Bacon in the oven1)its so easy2)the bacon stays straight and looks nice3)no bacon splatterI always put bacon on wax paper to cook. In a pinch I just place it on the pan, but it might stick more that way.Now in a restaurant its always a flat grill, but its usually pre cooked half way in the ovens for faster service.350° for 20 min for well done350° for 10 for awesome medium baconOf course cooking time depends on the oven and your taste.

How do you cook bacon in the oven?

just take a baking sheet put foil on it so its a little easier to clean then put down parchment paper then lay the bacon out on that paper. cook it at 350 and anc check it every 5 minutes till its the way you like it.. cooling racks are great if you don't have to clean them too much of a mess.. with the parchment paper you just throw it away. the trick with cooking bacon in a pan or skillet is to watch it because if you go to do something else for something that seems real quick the bacon will burn and be horible.. done it before

Can you cook bacon in a pot?

I've had to do it in a pot before.

It was nonstick, and I kept it on a lower temp than I use with a pan.

I'm sure it's not good for the pot, but if it's just once, you should be alright.
You don't need to add oil.

Listen: never cook fatty pork quickly. Ever. Even if your mother's life depends on it.You want good bacon, here's what you do:The night before, cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper (baking paper for you Brits). Lay your bacon out on it and put it in the fridge. In the morning, put the cookie sheet into a cold oven and turn the oven to 350° and set the time for 7 minutes.Take it out and enjoy perfect bacon.

How do you cook bacon in the oven?

The oven is actually my preferred method for cooking bacon. It’s pretty simple:Arrange bacon strips on a rimmed baking sheet. Forget the usual rules about not crowding the pan… it’s ok if the strips are touching each other, as long as they’re not on top of each other.Place the baking sheet in a cold oven, on the middle rack.Set the oven for 400F, and turn it on.After 10 minutes, check the bacon. If it’s done, to your liking, remove it. If not, rotate the pan half a turn, and continue to bake, 5 additional minutes. If bacon still isn’t done (thicker bacon typically takes longer), continue rotating and checking, every 5 minutes, until you have the bacon of your dreams.Drain fat, evacuate bacon to a double layer of paper towels and eat or refrigerate. If cooking a second batch, reduce initial cooking time to 10 minutes, as the oven will already be hot.

How can I pre-cook bacon?

Good question. I am surprised at how many restaurants do not know how to do this. Simply start with some decent quality bacon. If you can get what is called “Layout Packed Bacon” use it. This is bacon that is sliced and laid out flat on parchment paper from the manufacturer. The usual store bought bacon is sliced and overlapped causing it to stretch when pulled apart, layout pack bacon does not do that.Take an entire sheet of the bacon and place it on a large metal cookie sheet or aluminum baking sheet while keeping the bacon on the parchment paper. Don’t worry, the parchment paper is meant to be used and cooked with the bacon in the oven. A typical “freezer tray” in a restaurant kitchen will hold three of these laid out sheets. Bake the bacon for about ten minutes in a 350 degree oven or until it reaches a nice firm, but not overly crisp, degree of doneness.Remove the cooked bacon from the oven and lift the bacon pieces onto a paper towel covered serving tray, or better yet use a raised screen type of baking rack that fits onto a baking sheet. Lift the bacon with a flat spatula when placing onto the paper towels or draining rack. Gently shake the grease off of the bacon while lifting it from the cooking tray before placing it onto the paper towels. Neatly stack the bacon layer by layer directly on top of each other. There should not be much sticking if you shook off the excess grease. The bacon can be held virtually all day at room temperature like this until ready to eat. You can only do this with bacon that is cooked to a firm degree of doneness. The bacon should almost lay completely flat when picked up individually after cooking. If the bacon is floppy and translucent then it needs to go back in the oven until it is cooked firm but not too brown. This takes patience and practice but once you get it right you can do it with your eyes closed! Enjoy. Also, you simply can not do this if you cook your bacon stove top in a frying pan. It must be cooked as described above in an oven.
