How Do You Picture Someone In Real Life From Painting

What is it called when painting or drawing a picture or someone?

like when you paint a picture of someone, its called a ___ of them. what is that blank? i keep wanting to call it a mural, but i know that's wrong, so what is it called when the art is of a real person?

What's it called when someone paints a picture of you...?

i was at new york city the today, and i saw people were painting other people's faces to earn money. it looked really good. it wasnt a professional look but it looked more cartoon-ish. they also made the head somewhat large. i have visited a couple of my friends houses over the past month and i see that someone painted their whole family so they framed it and put it in their living rooms.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS KIND OF DRAWING IS CALLED?

What is the difference between a picture and a painting and can a picture be a painting and vice versa?

If you are standing right in front of it it's a picture. If it's somewhere else painting is more specific in describing what is usually a picture painted with a traditional-oil, watercolor, tempur, etc- medium on canvas, panel, or paper. So not very specific at all.So considering that people make digital paintings now it's even more vague which is why painters started saying image because it sounds more important than picture although some pretentious types with a down to earth image of themselves will call a painting a picture and make sure you understand that they don't take themselves nearly as seriously as they obviously do. So there's that too.Usually if someone calls themselves a painter or is called that by others it means they paint with oil or acrylic on canvas or panel. Watercolorists are referred to as watercolorists. The rest of the people that make paintings are usually called artists. That's as close as you'll get.

What is it called when you hire someone to draw a picture for you?

Like when you hire someone to write out a story they're called a ghostwriter. What about when someone draws something for you?
I need the information for a story I'm writing. Thanks!

If I draw or paint a picture from a photograph someone else took, is it plagiarism?

Yeah. If you use someone’s camera angle or focus or whatever the point of the photograph was, you’re kind of plagiarizing. Maybe not in a way that could be considered criminal, but people are judging your work by your ability to create lines and masses within a piece of paper or canvas. You use someone else’s visuals and perspective, which aren’t your visuals and perspective but you are implying that they are yours. That’s cheating. The exception is if you are teaching yourself to draw realistically or as an exercise and you give the person who took the photo credit, then because you are saying up front that it wasn’t your visual, it isn’t a problem. In other words, if you are building up a portfolio and include a piece that you made from someone’s photo and at the bottom of your drawing you write “From a photo taken by so and so” then it’s okay. Because you are saying ‘these are my drawing skills but not my conception or point of view.” You are giving credit where it belongs.

How do you photoshop someone using paint?

You don't, paint isn't a photo editing tool.

How rare is a print of Joan Miro's "Sonnens" painting worth with real autograph?

Look if it has a number and that will tell you if it's a long serie. If it's just a print and the signature is original, that's all the rare it has
