How Do You Prevent Hair Dye To Mix With Others While Washing It Out

How to prevent hair dye from staining white tub?

I dye my hair a lot using manic panic purple haze, vampire red, and sometimes ultra violet. Every time i wash my hair the color runs out and stains the tub. I usually don't care that it stains it because of the fact that the color of the tub is green but I might be moving and the tub is white. I don't want to make the tub pink or purple or blue so how can I prevent staining and still wash my hair. I don't want to know how to get stains out because I don't want a stain to begin with. Can I just lay a big a$$ plastic covering over the tub for just when I take a shower? Cuz other people will be using this shower too.

How do I prevent hair dyed purple from fading?

No matter what you do, it will fade, because purple hair dyes are semi or demi-permanent, not completely permanent. That being said, there are ways to keep it from fading faster than your roots grow in. 1. Get a good brand of purple dye. Manic panic is made to fade quickly, other brands are made to fade less. Pravana, Punky Color, Arctic fox, and Special Effects make purple dyes that last MUCH longer. 2. Heat set your hair dye once it is applied. This helps it sit better in the hair shaft and stay longer.3. When you wash out the hair dye, use cold water, and only use color treated hair conditioner. After you first wash out the dye, avoid washing for a couple of days. 4. Add a spoonful or so of any left over dye to both your shampoo and conditioner. Make sure you are using sulfate free, designed for color treated hair shampoo and conditioner. When you use the conditioner with the dye mixed in, let it sit on your hair for 1-5 minutes. This will help "refresh" the color some every time you wash.5. Wash and rinse your hair in cold or tepid water. Hot water opens up the cuticle which will release more dye(color). Using cold water helps keep the cuticle closed and keep the color in.6. Avoid use of styling products and heat styling. Heat styling does the same thing hot water does. Many styling products contain alcohol, which will fade hair faster. 7. Try to avoid washing your hair every day, if you can skip a few days, even better. Dry shampoo is a good option on your non-wet shampoo days. 8. Wear a hat or hood when in direct sunlight. Yes, this can fade the color too. 9. Make sure your hair is healthy. Severely damaged or bleach-fried hair does not hold color near as well as fairly healthy hair. With this tips, you can probably prolong the color so that you only really need to refresh it every other month instead of monthly. Depending on your hair, it may even last months without fading. I've had purple last up to 6 months with minimal fading and no touch ups.

How can I stop my Splat hair dye from washing out?

I bleached my hair, dried it, and immediately dyed it pink with Splat (semi-permanent). I left it on for about a half hour, the longest time suggested, but it keeps washing out every time I shower. It bleeds everywhere while it's wet, and even though I've only washed it three times, there is hardly any color left. It seems like it's only going to last about a week, when it is supposed to last around 4 weeks. Help!

Do you wash hair after u dye it?

You should not use shampoo after you color your hair, but any kind of conditioner is fine. Some types of shampoo can mess with the color so always avoid that until 24 hours after you have colored it. Also, do NOT listen to any answer that says a little shampoo is fine! I had my hair turn silver/green/blue from that!! Some shampoos contain ingredients that affect your color so just be safe and avoid using any.
Again though, any kind of conditioner is fine to use.

Can I mix semi permanent and demi permanent hair dye? Also can i mix two different colored dyes?

I have recently dyed my dark brown hair purple with semi permanent hair dye. It was noticeable, but nothing to bright which is what i wanted. But it has been a little bit more than 2 weeks and has faded drastically even though i have been keeping washing my hair to a minimum. I was wondering if i could mix semi and demi permanent hair dye so it would last longer.

I was also wondering if i could mix to different hair dye colors together. For instance could i mix blue and purple semi permanent hair dye together? I wanted to mix the two colors because my hair is naturally tinted red so after a week my hair looks more red than purple.

Thanks for answering

Can you mix hair dye with your conditioner?

I am referring to permanent hair color, such as L'Oréal Preference… Not really. Not only would the conditioner dilute the hair color, it inhibits the ability of the dyes to enter into the hair follicles. There is also no reason to do so, as it will only prevent damage because you are diluting the chemicals. Adding water would prevent the same damage and using the conditioner after would give your hair a silkier, shinier look.As far as semi-permanent hair color, it would be about the same as above. However, most semi-permanent hair color is cationic and most conditioners are anionic which would cause them to react and would cause color loss.I believe there are conditioning colors available which condition and add color over time. It is even more effective when used with shampoo colors. The idea is the shampoo and the conditioner have minimal dye in them. Enough to slightly color the hair but not enough to stain your hands. After 6 washes using both, you can see a visible difference on the head. I helped develope these products but I am not sure if they are on the market and if so, what countries. This would require an eBay or Google search.

I used Loreal Super Blonde creme lightening kit. I forgot to add the step 3 tube, the lightening creme developer, when I was mixing the dye, and just noticed the tube as i was cleaning up. How to protect certain strands of hair while dying?

coat them in lots of a thick conditioner, then wrap in saran wrap if possible. be careful, the conditioner will block anywhere you want to dye too. be sure to rinse the black out first, don't let your other hair mix in while rinsing (clip it up or something). sounds pretty, good luck!

What Can I Use To Make Hair Dye Not Stick To My Skin While Dying My Hair ?

First thing; my suggestion is DO NOT EVER use Vaseline (petroleum jelly) when coloring your hair. It's not water soluble and that can lead to some big problems. Although it will prevent dye from sticking to the skin, it is VERY easy to get into your hair and the color won't penetrate (resulting in strands that don't get colored evenly and are really oily). If you do get any in you hair, to wash it out you'll need to use something like dishwashing liquid (which would also remove your fresh hair color, lol). And then, if you are prone to oily skin, it may cause a breakout. (I've never had a hair stylist use Vaseline.

DO USE  body lotion, facal moisturizer, or even some facial cleanser before you start. Don't forget the tops of your ears! You don't need much, just don't rub it in all the way.
