How Do You Sew A Round Type Of Edge When Creating A Handbag

Need help making "sandbags"?

I wouldn't bother with zippers on the inner bags. Make the bags, fill them, knot or sew the tops, drop them in the outer bag. I'd use something like a coated nylon, about 350D, for this. Zippers are likely to bust.

Canvas frays like crazy. Were I you, I'd use either 1000 D Cordura or ballistic nylon and some good ribbing, possibly with plastic grips meant for briefcases and the like, so you don't tear up your hands so badly Back up the zippers with a flap and velcro (like the storm flaps on an expedition parka), to help keep you from having to replace the zippers so often.

For the interior bags, 3/4 yard of 60" coated nylon (that will actually make 6)
For the duffle 1 3/8 yard cordura or ballistic nylon, (2.5yards would make two )
+ straps of the length you want.

The average home sewing machine won't handle anything much heavier than a couple of layers of
1000D cordura, and the cheapies won't handle that. You may need to find someone with an industrial machine designed for upholstery work to get the handles on. In fact, an upholstery shop can knock the whole thing out for you with very little pain and suffering, and probably not a huge charge for labor.

Is 122count muslin fabric strong enough to make a huge bean bag bed out of?

I think using muslin is a good idea, and the thread count seems ok, but there are 2 things I would do. 1. If you can, make the fabric a double thickness. 2. Use the strongest, thickest thread you can for the seams. Maybe go to a fabric store and ask them for their suggestions. Also, sometimes you can find a patern for this kind of thing in 'Simplicity' etc. I would go look in the pattern section and, if you can find one, see what kind of fabric/thread they suggest!!

You are laying a concrete border around a circular pond. The pond is 7 m in diameter and is surrounded by a path 2 meters wide. The concrete needs to be 50 mm deep. One cubic meter requires that you use 106 x 20 kg bags. How many bags would you need?

You need to take the area of the pond away from the area of the path as if it was a complete circle and multiply that by the depth in metres to get the volume in cubic metres. Then multiply that by 106.Outside diameter of the path is 7 + 2 + 2 = 11m. Path radius is therefore 11/2 = 5.5m.Outside diamter of the pond is 7m. Pond radius is therefore 7/2 = 3.5mArea of actual path = (5.5 x 5.5 x PI) - (3.5 x 3.5 x PI) = 95.03 - 38.48 = 56.55m^2Volume of path = 56.55 x 0.050m = 2.8275 cubic metres. The 0.050 is 50mm in metresNumber of bags = 2.8275 x 106 = 299.715 or 300 bags.

How do you make a frosting bag out of plastic (saran) wrap?

If you have an empty powdered sugar bag, that makes a great decorating bag. The plastic is soft and pliable yet very strong. Fill the bag with icing and cut a very tiny hole in one corner. Squeeze the icing out. If the hole isn't quite bit enough just keep snipping it a little larger until it is the perfect size.

How can I tell the difference between an authentic Louis Vuitton bag and an imitation?

I would be happy to give you a 1–2–3 sequence but it’s not that easy. The key to difining a fake is knowing the original bag, all its details. So it really depends on the bag. The first thing you need to check if this model exists. You can do that via old Louis Vuitton catalogs. However, there are some things that generally are wrong in fake Louis Vuitton items.1) The date code. The date code is not the only factor that proves bag to be authentic or not but it’s very important. Use a Louis Vuitton date code checker here  a[1]nd see if your code is valid. If the date code says that the bag was released in 2008, use a catalog to check if the bag was really available in 2008. If the date code implies that the bag was manufactured in Spain, check the ‘made in’ plate to see if that’s the case.2) The heatstamp. This is an image of an AUTHENTIC Louis Vuitton ‘made in’ heatstamp in recent bags (from 2000 onwards). It is little bit different but I bet you can see a pattern here. The leather plate is nice and has sharp edges. The O is very round, V and N are very sharp on the bottom. This heatstamp may be embossed on the leather on onto the lining, it is different depending on the model. Still you may compare the font on your bag to these pics and see if they match. Here are some FAKE LVs just for reference to see the difference.3) Hardware and stitching quality. Here’s a comparison of an authentic Louis Vuitton Pallas with a fake one, but I am gonna illustrate just the hardware part. The left picture is of an authentic bag. See the difference in quality? All in all, to be able to tell real Louis Vuitton items from fakes you need to check that there are no red flags:1) Have knowledge of Louis Vuitton product lines (catalogs & forums) to know if this model ever existed. If that’s a real model, check.3) Check the quality of the bag to see if there are red flags. Does stitching seem to have high quality? Are there any loose threads? Is glazing dark red, not just strawberry jam red?4) Check the ‘made in’ tag to see if there are red flags. Is the font correct?5) Check the date code. Is it valid? Is it in line with what ‘made in’ tag says? These are the primary steps. But of course to be able to tell real bags from fakes you need experience. So in case you ever need help - I’ll be glad to help.Footnotes[1] Bagaholic TV: Buy Authentic Preloved Louis Vuitton Bags

Does holding a metal object in your hand make a difference to your punch?

Oh yes. Dependent on the shape and weight, it can be beneficial and/or harmful to you as the puncher. No matter how tightly you hold your hand, the bone will not completely fill your fist, nor completely tighten into a shape that is not partially hollow. Adding metal to the inside can fill the hollow, but will obviously not do so perfectly. If this causes your bones to be backed with flesh that is more compressed and an immovable object, it will decrease the elasticity of your punch. It will be harder to whatever you’re punching and still retain some ability to absorb shock, but hopefully not as much as when your hitting perpendicular with your finger bones when they are backed by nothing but flesh and air.Losing elasticity can be destructive, however. You will do more damage to your soft tissue. You also, even if the metal is shaped and sized well for your hand, will make simple fractures less likely while making complex damage more likely. And, if the metal is NOT sized very well for your hand (or has a nice edge to press against bone) you can severely increase the chances of broken bones. A flashlight is a good example of this: large flashlights are too large for the space in nearly every hand, and you’re far more lightly to break a knuckle with one in your hand than without. Still makes your fist harder though. The most basic example of this done by design is a kubotan, which will harden a punch and give a striking blunt edge to the flat of the hand.Kubotan - WikipediaMany things that do this well are considered weapons. However, a roll of coins is an easy way to experiment and see the difference.Other than the basic obvious qualities of changing your hand, I do not recommend you hit someone with a roll of coins in your hand unless you feel a life is in jeopardy. Many courts of law will rightly consider this a weapon when used in this way, same as a baseball bat becomes a weapon when used as one. If you’re fighting for your life, a broken hand may be worth the risk. Its never a bad thing to understand how to defend yourself with any means available at any time. But you should never expect using such things to be free of consequences or harm to yourself: make sure you understand the price you’ll pay.

What does it mean Do not Turn in this Crochet pattern?

Ch 41.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in each ch across. (40 sts)
Row 2 - 12: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across.
Row 13: Ch 1. Do NOT turn. Working along end, work 12 sc evenly. At corner ch 1, sc in same sp. Working along beginning edge, work 40 sc evenly to end. At corner ch 1, sc in same sp. Working along end, work 12 sc evenly. At corner ch 1, sc in same sp. Working along next edge, sc 40 evenly to beg. Join with sl st to first sc.

Its the one at row 13, its a rectangle base for a bag. I understand do not turn when its a circle based pattern, but not this one. Does it mean i crochet along the smaller edge of the rectangle then back round to the beginning of where i started?

What backpack should I get for a 6 month round the world trip?

A CHEAP BACKPACK.Let me give you a different approach:Assume your back pack will be stolen or lost, and/or valuables stolen from it. Have enough money available online or some other way (not carried with you) so you can replace all the items. It would be reasonable to pick something that at least looks cheap, that is in a size you can duplicate.  The other thing you can do is to rough up the backpack, so it least it looks used.So your backpack gets stolen halfway around the world, you can buy on of a similar size (maybe from that store that sells used backpacks...which they buy from local people who find things before they are lost) and buy the rest of your stuff you want to take, and it will all pack and fit inside your new pack. Now the other problem is things can be stolen FROM your backpack. Like a DSLR and your netbook. To avoid this, you might want to have a smaller, internal bag with a little foam padding that would have only the DSLR.  When you go to sleep in the hostel, you take the smaller bag out of your backpack and sleep with it.If you can get a real waterproof bag, you could take it in the shower with you. With the netbook, one think you could do would be to put some strapping tape or duct tape over the back or the top (avoid covering air holes) to make it appear that some sort of half-assed repair was done.  Maybe add some neutral stickers, then use an eraser to the edges to make them look worn.Your are going on the trip for the experience.  You might want to take precautions to avoid theft, but that is likely to be part of the travel experience.Plan do reduce the chances of theft, but plan so you can easily recover and keep executing YOUR agenda, not reacting to events.Note that many of the world's countries are not willing to follow the example of the U.S., and stuff habitual criminals in prison to rot. (See Three Strikes Law).
