Why do people these days call punks,goths, metalheads and everything in between emo?
Because "emo" is a stupid label made by stupid people for stupid people who can't be bothered to differentiate between different styles of music and find it easier to just throw a blanket of convenient ignorance over it all. It's kind've like racism - if you're a racist then all people who have a different skin color than you are the same, right? You can't be bothered to understand that different people of this skin color really are different and unique individuals, and that really when you get down to it, often they're not much different from you (for better and for worse). So yeah, it's laziness, it's stupidity, and it's pointless. What really disgusts me are people who pick up the label and say "well, *I'm* emo!" and run with it. I've started listening to this band, and I really like them. They've got a piano player who knows what he's doing, the sound is sweet and upbeat, and the lyrics are about love and are meaningful enough to not be absolute drivel. Unfortunately, the band is Cinematic Sunrise, I found them at Hot Topic, and I'm almost positive they're being labeled as emo. It sucks... It's like, I'm labeled as an atheist, and I pretty much have to go along with it, because no one understands me when I say I'm a "freethinking humanist". But "atheist" doesn't really mean anything... just that i'm not "a theist". Lame. EDIT: garrison, I may not entirely agree with you, but I respect your viewpoint. It's kinda funny. It's true, though, that those who are far removed, culturally, may not have the ability to perceive what may be thought of as minor differences between similar groups. I don't know if I'd be able to tell the differences between tube amp designers who insist that single ended topologies are the best way to go and tube amp designers who insist that global negative feedback topologies are the best way to go. A Good looking girl is always flooded with flirts around her, approaching and impressing her. It's a fact that a good looking girl always falls for a flirt. A Good looking girl is bad at recognizing cute guy. Even if she is grown up smart, she acts dumb while choosing a partner because she presumes that her good looking feature attracts even a cute guy and no need to work upon it. Yeah, it attracts them also but doesn't make them approach you. Cute guys are having certain characteristics mentioned below, based on these you can recognize him :1) They don't look hot. They don't resemble like a model.2) They don't try to impress anybody. They won't impress you either.3) They are happy being themselves. Satisfied with what they have.4) They usually don't judge girls. If you speak to them they feel good, sometimes great.5) They like the girly girly character in you. They also like your boldness when you protect them from arguments.6) They do flirt but only with the loved ones. They don't flirt with random girls.7) They have a good sense of humor. 8) They are good at stealing gazes so often and everybody fail to notice it.9) They are shy. It adds more cuteness.10) They fear a lot. They fear rejection, getting dumped, being cheated. They are really bad at suspecting, they hate doing that.11) They are simple and straight forward.12) They accept failure instead of accusing the girl for cheating upon him.13) They feel jealous sometimes. It adds more cuteness and a pinch of romance.14) They are crazy and they make you feel crazy, only when you get closer to them.15) They won't approach you because they believe that good looking girls are always taken and aren't single anymore.Cuteness is all about character and expression, it has nothing to do with looks.
If women are careful around strange men, is this really misandry & sexism against men?
you are going to great lengths to justify yourself and there's no need. you and other women have valid reasons to be wary and use protection against possible threats. when i was 17 i had the job of taking money to the bank for the company i worked for. i had to carry cash and cheques in a bag and walk about a mile to the bank. there was a tunnel underneath the railway station that i walked through. there was a 60 year old male who worked as a cleaner at the same company as i did. on his day off he waited for me at the station and followed me to the bank. he was harrassing me by asking me to go out with him. i was visibly shaken when i got to the bank because not only was i creeped out but i was carrying all that money. i wasn't sure what he was up to. the bank teller knew something was up. so i changed the route to the bank on a daily basis so no one could stalk me in case of a mugging. that's not only being wary but being sensible about possible dangers. the male in question knew me but that doesn't mean he should be trusted. he was 60 and i was 17 - creepy. its not misandry to be careful, its possibly life-saving.
Can ugly teens become good looking adults?
Im a 15 yr old girl and sometimes I feel so ugly. People always ask me why I'm so nice, but the answer Is if I wasn't as nice as I am now no one would like me coz I'm ugly. I mean pretty girls can act like bitches sometimes yet still have people chasing after them. I have straight teeth and no braces, no glasses and no acne and im not fat but I do have crap, reddish freckely skin. But i think its more like my facial feature which are letting me down like my big nose and ears. Please don't give me inner beauty crap because Im the nicest person at school yet got barely any friends. So my question is can some strange miracle happen and I become attractive in my early twenties? Or should I give up hope ... :(
Let's talk about women in metal...?
Kat Von D is underage? She doesn't look it. 1. I think they are objectified to a degree, I'd much rather see Simone Simmons singing for Epica than some ugly chick with an equally good voice, but one could argue Simone isn't really being "objectified" but rather her beauty is just, part of the band's "identity" (but let's face it, she is the only reason that band is anything, period). Glam Metal was much worse with this of course. I'd have to say mainstream Hip Hop really is the worst in this aspect though, you don't see Metal lyrics talking about "making it rain" on "bitches"... sure you have lyrics about raping and pillaging, but not really lyrics *as* focused on the objectification of women. Black Metal is a much more unhealthy culture than any Hip Hop-oriented one, I'll say that. 2. Some metalheads endorse it, some don't. Some Hip Hop listeners endorse it, some don't. But Sex sells, so it will happen. 3. Metal has no reputation to be harmed, does it? I thought most metalheads just didn't give a ****, or at least craft their image such... although I suppose recently there has been a trend of metalheads trying to elevate their music to a "higher moral standard" than "the mainstream", by claiming it should be about "truer" than it... I think a lot of metalheads have some severe cognitive dissonance going on, they think their genre is "higher" than mainstream/Hip Hop, and yet while Hip Hop might objectify women slightly more, Metal advocates violence a lot more (true, so does Hip Hop, but usually it's violence due to some social injustice, not just retard violence in "the name ov"... whatever) 4. Somewhat, but I'm not going to complain about a band having a hot chick as a singer, if they can sing who cares. So long as the girl isn't like, wearing fake angel wings or some ****... you know what, even that's cool.
