They are very real.The result and the spots of the match are scripted. The moves like punches and kicks are real.A professional wrestler performs signature moves such that they don't injure the other wrestler.Lets take an example of move known as Piledriver. It has been banned in WWE since 2000 and only two wrestlers in WWE are allowed to use the move(Undertaker and Kane).This photo clearly shows that the head doesnt touch the ground.If the move is not done correctly then it will result in a injury. In 1997 Owen hart botched a reverse piledriver on Stone Cold Steve Austin. This broke Austin's neck and that is the reason why he retired early.If we see blood in WWE now it has happened unintentionally since we are now in the PG era. Today's WWE product is marketed towards children not adults. Wrestlers like Ric Flair, Triple H are regular bladers. The preffered area for blading is the forehead since it bleeds profusely and heals easily.I would recommend you to watch the movie The Wrestler (2008).The Wrestler shows that while outcomes of matches may be fixed the physical tolls these men take on their body are often more extreme and long lasting than most other "respectable" sports.

You have a great point there for real. That is one of the reasons. I think the biggest reason is also their predictability. I can always know whats going to happen next, who they will make win, what rivalry will take place or who will return at what moment. What you said and also its predictabilty make it very dull at times. Yes the PG era is holding back a lot of stars personalities. If you notice when ever a star is a guest ring side with Jr or something, they almost have nothing to say, for example like the time Swagger was there ring side. Back then DX said suck it and people called each other biatches (Stone cold) and said funny things like Jericho calling people a s s clowns lol. Now we are down to seeing people like the Miz say "im awesome" lol i mean seriously thats just lame. BQ: Many, Swagger, Ziggler and much more. This kind of hurts the heels a bit more because people like Cena can just pander to the crowd all the time and get their rep.
