How Do You Tie A Shoe While Tying A Shoe

I'm 15 and i still don't know how to tie my shoes?

so before you people start typing comments about how i'm really retarded, let me explain that i have tried desperately hard many times to learn how to tie my shoes beginning when i was a little kid, but when i was little no matter how many times i tried, i just couldn't learn the supposedly simple process of tying shoes to the point where i just wore shoes with velcro straps until the age of 14 when my parents thought i should try to learn the process again and even though i've attempted countless times to tie my shoes, i'm still not getting it and i feel like one of the stupidest people on because tying my shoes is something i should have learned a freaking long time ago!!! in case anyone's wondering, i'm not mentally disabled in any way, but i really feel like i am to be honest and since i should have learned a very long time ago i'm worried i'm never going to learn at this point. what should i do to learn how to tie my shoes soon because my first day of high school is in literally 4 days and i don't want to go to school not knowing how to tie shoes like a little 4 year old :( if there's anyone who takes this question as a funny joke instead of seriously, i promise to your face i will swear you out!!!!

How do I tie long shoe laces?

1. First, you can cut short. :) Or just buy shoes with normal length shoelaces.2. The laces are a little extra, but not very exaggerated. As long as you tie a knot while you are tying your shoelace, you can easily solve it.Also, put the extra laces into the toe, as shown.3. The extra part will still affect the appearance after the end of the game, this time we will start to plug!First of all, finishing the shoelaces, the system is not loose, just enough to wrap your feet. Then pull the shoelace from the outside and wear it from the outside of a hole. Both sides must be so that the shoelace can be fixed and no longer loose. Then tidy the extra laces inside and put them in the shoes. This way the shoelace is completely invisible!4. There are still many small partners who will choose to put more laces into the soles of their soles. This is not bad, just a little bit crappy.5. Some high-top shoes, the laces are really long, this time you need to solve around the ankle. Just wrap the extra laces around the ankles and tie them up. It takes a few turns depending on the thickness of the shoes and the ankles. It is suitable for almost all high-top shoes!

How should I tie my shoelace if I am wearing a short skirt?

To minimize flashing others, consider crossing one leg over the other, placing the leg with the shoe that needs tying on top. Pull the shoe towards you to tie it. Although this will expose the back of your thigh, it will block any view up the middle of your skirt. It is also possible to keep your knees together and tie your shoes blindly (provided that your gut doesn't get in the way). Like the previous poster mentioned, you can go to the privacy of another room (or restroom) to tie your shoes.

Is tying your shoe tight good for a twisted ankle/why is it bad to to take your shoe off instead?

I agree with the person above. Too tight is bad. DO NOT get all your advice from coaches or untrained persons. They are most likely wrong. Athletic trainers are who you go to for the right information. But that's just me because I am one. =)

For getting your ankle better do what the person above said but add these things:
Calf stretches
drawing the ABC's with your toe(pretending your big toe is a pencil and your are writing the letter in the air)
wrap a towel around the bottom of your foot while sitting on the floor with your legs out in front of you. Pump your ankle while holding onto the towel
These will all help increase your range of motion. The pain going up the steps is probably from your calf so the stretches and pumps will start making that feel better. DONT PUST IT TOO HARD!!!
hope all this helps!

Am I wrong not to tie kids shoes in the classroom?

I recently worked in this kindergarten class, with a 40 year veteran teacher. She told me that she does not tie shoes. If a child is unable to, we (teachers/aides) do not tie their shoes for them. They learn nothing. We can:
1. Have them ask another student.
2. Send a note home to the parent to practice with them.
3. Set time aside each day to practice with the student until they can tie their own shoes.

I agreed with her. We are educators, not shoe-tiers. If aides and teachers want to do that all day, they can be in child care or nursing instead. Prior to that, I taught in a 2nd grade classs where the aides were tying shoes. Now that I am more informed, I find it disturbing. What do you think?

When should I start teaching my kid to tie his shoes? Will he learn how to tie his shoelaces at school?

There are nice toys with buttons, zips, hook & eyes and strings to tie.  Get him one of those and play with it with him.  I remember being six when I learned to tie.  I had gotten a large, stuffed bunny with a bow around its neck.  I'd been shown how to tie but hadn't gotten the mechanics down.  I practiced with the ribbon of this toy and was finally able to do a traditional bow. I remember taking it into my parents' room and waking them to show them I could tie a bow.  I was able to tie my own shoes, much to my parent's relief a week or so later.  There were five kids in my family so you can imagine what a chore that was in the pre-velcro days.   In college and while married, I actually learned easiere ways to tie a bow.  My son didn't learn to tie until much later since all his shoes had velcro, though we tried to teach him.  He just wasn't that interested and it wasn't necessary to his life.  I think he finally learned in about the 4th grade when he'd grown out of most of the shoes with velcro.  My husband taught him the traditional bow and the two easier ways.

Can you give me step-by-step instructions on how to tie my shoes.?

1) Hold one end of each shoelace in each hand.
2) Cross them, making an X.
3) Pass one end of the shoelace under the other.
4) Pull tight.
5) Fold one shoelace in half while holding laces taut.
6) Wrap the other end around the folded end.
7) Grasp it in the middle after pulling it around the folded end.
8) Bend it into a flat loop and pull through, making a bow.
9) Repeat with other shoe.

A+ if you follow those directions ;)

Shoes: How do you prevent your shoelaces from becoming untied quickly?

According to Ian Fieggen (AKA: Professor Shoelace) people's shoes become untied because they tie their shoe into a granny knot.  He recommends some easy solutions here:It could be as easy as simply starting your starting knot right over left instead of left over right, or vice versa.  But if your shoelaces still come undone (for many reasons including the ones given by Stephanie Vardavas) you should learn to tie a more secure knot.I'm trying to master the Mega Ian Knot right now, mostly because it's so beautiful.http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/...Ian however recognizes that the mega Ian knot is pretty difficult to tie so he recommends either the surgeon knothttp://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/...or theTurquoise Turtle knothttp://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/...and of course Ian's secure knot.http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/...These secure knots also seem pretty easy to untie. While you are exploring Ian's website, you might as well have some fun.  Try to learn a faster way to tie your knot.  The Ian knot is the fastest way to tie a standard knot.  It takes about a half second to tie.  This video says it takes three seconds to tie but it includes the starting knot.http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/... LOL.  He just celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Ian Knot. There's also dozens of ways to lace the shoes, which are always fun to do, and surprisingly practical too.
