How Do You Unlock A Locked Document On Microsoft Word 2007

My Toshiba laptop locked my Microsoft Word documents, How do i unlock it or what do I do?!!?!?

The trial version of Microsoft Office expired. Need to buy a license from Best Buy or Circuit City to work on your documents.

How do I unlock microsoft word 2007?

There could be 2 things that are wrong.

1) You have reached the end of the Microsoft Office 2007 Trial.
When this happens you are not able to edit any documents. You will only be able to view and print your documents.
To fix this you need to buy an office 2007 license from http://office.microsoft.com

2) You are trying to edit a protected document.
Some people protect their documents or parts of their documents from being edited. The only way around this is to get an original copy of the file or the password for the file.

Hope this helps you

How do you unlock a microsoft word document?

Is it yours?
See if you accidentally set properties to read only:
close the file
right-click on the icon for the file
select properties
if there is a checkmark next to "read only" - click to remove it

If it is not yours
open the document
File
Save AS
save a copy to a new name
see if you can open the new document

Microsoft word 2007 is locked on my laptop... how do i find my product key?

Computers these days often come with a free trial copy of Microsoft Office that's good for 25 uses (of all Office programs combined) or 60 days. At the end of that time it stops letting you edit your files or create new ones. You have to purchase Microsoft Office 2007, or at least Word 2007, to do that.

Note: The 25-character product key on the computer case or laptop bottom is NOT the key for MS Office. It’s only for the Windows operating system.

Here are some of your options for paying less than full price for Microsoft Office 2007:

First, if you're a student, you may qualify for the Ultimate Steal edition of Office at a pretty good price ($59.95):

http://www.microsoft.com/student/discoun...

Second, if you’re interested in buying just Word, check out this URL, especially the second group of listings.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/produc...

Note that the higher of the two prices quoted is for a full version of that program and the lower, for upgrades from existing software. Read the list of upgrade-qualifying software carefully: MS Works is often one, and may have come on your machine.

Finally, if you're willing to spend a little to save a little, Microsoft Works is available in stores for about $40.00. You could buy a copy, install it, then buy Office at the upgrade level. I think you'd come out ahead. Note that the upgrade copy probably checks your machine for Works' presence, so don't get rid of it after you've installed Office. You never know when you're going to have to reinstall Office.

Also, if you have files that are locked up in the new Word 2007 file format (.docx), here’s a possibility for salvaging them. Microsoft offers a free Compatibility pack that allows earlier versions of Word (and Microsoft Works) to read and write Word 2007 files. If you have access to an earlier version, this can at least give you back your documents. Some new features of Word 2007 will be lost or converted to straight text in the conversion to the earlier version.

Good luck.

Microsoft Word 2007 help. How do you "unlock the section?"?

I have Microsoft Word 2007. I opened the document and chose to save it. When opened in the program it will not let me make adjustments to the document. Upon trying to make the adjustments it says, "the modification is not allowed because the selection is locked." I am in some college courses and for some reason it will not let me make these modification to the document my professor sent me.

I've forgotten the password to my Microsoft Word document. How can I access my file again?

You are probably stuffed, I'm afraid. There is no not in password recovery for Word. You can try the following, but I'm not confident:1. Rename the extension name of the document to ZIP, like as a ZIP compressed file.2. Double click it and open it in Windows Explorer, navigate to Word folder.3. Delete the Settings.xml file from the folder. And then close the Window.4. Rename back to DOCX file.5. And done. Next time when you open the same document, you may not be prompted by the password window, if you are lucky. You might try some of the advertised Word unlock tools

Microsoft Word?!? Help?

Hope this helps. From the Word 2007 Help Menu:

On the Review tab, in the Protect group, click Protect Document, and then click Restrict Formatting and Editing.

In the Protect Document task pane, click Stop Protection.
If you assigned a password to help protect the document, in the Unprotect Document dialog box, type the password.
Select the parts of the document that you want to be unrestricted.

For example, select a block of paragraphs, a heading, a sentence, or a word.

Do one of the following:

To allow anyone who opens the document to edit the part that you selected, select the Everyone check box in the Groups list.

How do you unlock a selection in Microsoft Word 2007?

Maybe you have a trial version of Office 2007, and the trial period has ended. Or maybe you have not activated your Office software.

What happens if you start Word 2007 and click on Office Button (that's the big round thing at the upper left corner of the Word window) | Word Options | Resources | Activate? If you are already activated, a dialog box saying so will appear. If you are not activated, the Activation Wizard will start. If you have an expired trial version, a dialog box will prompt you to enter a valid product key or convert (purchase a key) online.
