Why are my FRAPS hotkeys not working?
It's not the shortcut key problem. Fraps only can record DirectX and OpenGL programs (games) You can't record non-DirectX programs with Fraps Try Bandicam, you can record DirectX gameplay and non-DirectX gameplay in high quality. Fraps is not working on Windows 8.1 now?
So, Fraps was working on Windows 8 for my friend. Then all of a sudden it forced her laptop to install 8.1 without her consent. So she ran fraps (version 3.5.99) and yes, it's registered and owned by her by payment. And it won't pop up. It gives a Fraps Error 8 saying that there is a problem with her direct x drivers. We have tried just about everything to fix it. We tried: -Installing Direct X all over. All versions, even the newest version. -Uninstalling fraps and re-installing fraps. -Disabling fraps on start up. -Updating the drivers. None of these have worked. Fraps is pretty important because we are Sims 2 directors. And like I have 8.1 and it works for me, but not on her computer. I have no idea where to else look. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please. I've googled everywhere.
Fraps not working in Battlefield 3 !!?
Fraps isnt working in BF3.. It working on my other game like mw3, gta4 and others.. I have windows 7 professional. And i have also download lastest version of fraps from official site but nothing helps.. All help appreciated.
How does the Fraps recorder work?
While details of it's operation are unknown as it is closed-source software based on available information we can make pretty accurate guess.In essence Fraps hooks into DirectX (that is why it is sometimes detected as cheat it operates on similar principles). This allows it to make direct read of graphics pipeline output. Using overlay it can also show current FPS. Since Fraps access graphics pipeline directly it has low overhead. Once it gets frame it appends it into recorded video. Since video is recorded in real-time it makes impossible to use inter-frame compression codecs such as h.264, so only intra-frame compression is used (There could be one exception - delta compression is inter-frame an it depends only on previous frames).

Fraps Overlay wont work on WoW model viewer?
Fraps overlay wont work on WoW model viewer? I just downloaded WoW model viewer yesterday, everything is up and running just fine, however i'd like to make a video of my character walking just to get my feet wet with a WoW video background. I realized I needed fraps, and downloaded the trial version (yes I know it has a watermark, this is just for practice so its ok). I do not have the hide overlay button clicked, and I have one of the corners clicked for them to show my FPS. So now what? I get no numbers, and It is on. I can't record. Theres nothing there, what do I do now? Is it my version of fraps? Or my model viewer?

You don't. You go to obsproject.org and record with that! It's more versatile, modern, and sets you up to record and/or stream simultaneously.
How do you make fraps detect a program?
Unfortunately no. Frap's only runs in applications that are running in Directx or OpenGL. Typical Windows programs do not work in fraps because they are not running Directx or OpenGL when executing. Games run in directx and openGL to create a framerate to run games on and draw things on the screen during execution (animation). If you're looking for a good screen recorder, try the free Cam Studio: http://camstudio.org It works well, I don't think it does sound though. It even has a nice tool for only selecting a portion of the screen before recording, and it comes with a video player. There are plenty of other programs you can try that take live desktop video.
