How Does Facebook Know When You Are Using An Alias

$ nslookup facebook.comServer: 10.70.20.43Address: 10.70.20.43#53Non-authoritative answer:Name: facebook.comAddress: 157.240.22.35

When searching for someone on Facebook, what does it mean if someone you're not searching for keeps coming up?

It simply means that the person you are NOT searching for meets some or all of the terms you are using to search.For example, there are about a dozen people on Facebook with my name or some variation thereof. However, if you search for a name and a location, or a name and a high school or occupation, and that person has included that information in their profile, you are more likely to see the result you are looking for.Remember that some people are not on Facebook. or they have their privacy settings so that only those who have the correct profile name can find them, or that they are using a nickname or alias. If you are determined to find someone, search in Google or Bing using the most specific terms you can think of, and if that person does have a Facebook profile, it will show up in those search results.You also may not find them in Facebook search because they have you blocked.#dontbeastalker

How does one go about creating a second Facebook page without your personal identity being linked to it?

Just go ahead and create the page simply with your own existing account (just don’t like, comment or share the posts on the page if you don’t want yourself to be associated with the page in any way). If still in doubt, you can create the page with new a fb account.Either ways your personal identity won’t show up to anyone. Facebook has this special feature in it that only the co-admin (if any) of the page will be be able to know who is managing the page. Your personal identity is never shown or linked with the page.This i know for sure cause I run around 10+ pages with my personal account and post something new on each one everyday but never encountered this problem. It never show up in my public feeds.

Is it illegal to use a fake name on facebook?

Hi. So I recently read up that it is illegal to use a fake name online. Does that include facebook? I know facebook has it against its policy. But some of us use it to keep our privacy and to keep people we don't want finding us from actually finding us.

How do you find out if someone has more than one Facebook account?

It’s pretty easy: if you have their phone number or email address, just paste it in the “search box” on Facebook and the linked accounts will come up.There are other ways of finding out if someone has another account:You can try and do an advanced Google search on their username/name and check the results that show up. You might find a lead.See other user names that they use on other social media platforms and also do a thorough search on those.Check the friends lists of close friends or relatives(this only works if they’re friends lists is open and not set to private).If you use the proper technique to do an advanced internet search, it will yield suprinsingly accurate results.

Facebook is removing a lot of my furry friend profiles who are not using their real names. I thought the real name policy was cancelled. Is this not the case?

Sorry but this may upset many but u think Facebook should be doing this and the name policy changes they made recently should be cancelled. Think where Facebook started - it started for people in University or College and there you have to have your real name and same should be with Facebook. You want to use an alias, be your Busines name,  or be a pet etc, you have Public/Company pages to use. Thus be real and use the facilities they give you
