How does graduation day work?

Happy Graduation Day

How does graduate school work?

Well, at least for medicine you need to decide well before graduation...there's an entire series of courses that you need to take in college to be eligible to apply to med school (plus an exam, the MCAT, and volunteer/shadowing work). Law and business aren't quite as specific, but usually you should have taken classes and been involved in activities that would build toward admission. For most fields you can't just wake up the day after graduation and apply (and actually, if you plan on going the fall after college graduation you usually need to start applying during the summer before senior year or during senior year). Cost, admissions, length etc. really varies by discipline and by school.

But really, as a freshman you shouldn't be worrying about grad school. You should focus on figuring out what interests you by taking classes in the respective fields (or really, in anything you see as a potential career). Once you narrow it down you can then start worrying about doing what you need to do so you can apply to grad school. If you're really confused or really want details about all the different types of grad schools, get in touch with your school's career advising services.

How does it feel like to work full time after graduating from university?

It was a long time ago, but I remember how different a job was from school. You still have pressure, but it is not the same. In school you get assignments and have to study for tests. With a job you have people counting on you for direction or products. It is a lot more satisfying to produce a product than to pass a test, and I felt like the reward of producing something energized me. That was my experience, probably every person has a different experience, depending on how much they enjoyed school and how much they enjoy their job. The job I took I had some flexibility. Often I could choose to work inside in in-climate weather and outside when it was nice. That was great. Also I had a reasonable amount of sick leave and annual leave, so I could take off to hunt or fish. I believe I was able to do it more often than when I was in school. I worked for the government, and the department I worked for offered a 10 hour day for 4 days as opposed to 8 hour days for 5 days. I did that for close to a year. It was not a good deal for the government. After about 8 hours I was not very productive. 8 hours with a couple of breaks and lunch was about right for me. Often I would work more hours just to keep up, and when I was only obligated to work 8 hours it seemed the extra hours were more productive. No explanation for why that was, and I might just have imagined it. Best of luck, Jim

How does graduating late from High School impact life afterward?

I've come to accept the fact that I'm highly unlikely to finish all my credits and senior project before I would normally graduate 22 days from now if I had gotten it done on time. Because of this, I would like to know if graduating a semester late would in fact get marked on my records, and if so, I would also like to know if it will affect my initial reputation, my likelihood of getting a job, getting into college, etc.

Basically I just want to know if I should really be as stressed about this as I currently am, since I do have plans of going to college and taking some sort of mathematical profession which I have not decided on yet (possibly engineering or programming). You may consider my desired profession irrelevant though; I just want to know what will be affected by the timing of my graduation.

Do you think 23 or 24 is too late to graduate?

i know there are people who graduate that late, but they take time off school to work and make money to pay off loans and then go back to school again and then again take time off for work. So, i understand why they graduate late. They have a valid reason.

But in my case, i haven't missed a semester since Fall of 2007(when i graduate from high school and entered college). Only reason i am graduating late is because i changed my major.

I was just wondering, how bad it could get for me if i graduate at 23 or 24. I am just too scared if companies in future doesn't hire me because i graduate late because of change in major.

sometimes just thinking about this makes me really nervous and depressed. I start losing hope sometimes. I wonder where will i end up in future. My heat starts pumping really fast, like i am going to have a heart attack.

what do you guys think, thanks in advance

I'll be graduating from college soon and start work late in the summer. I have $1000 saved up. What's the best online business to start?

People seem to think starting an online business is an easy way to make a lot of cash.If you want to make a a lot of profit in 12 months from doing anything, the true answer  is (as always) : Hard and Smart Work.In saying all of that, here are my top 5  tips:1. Sell something you have at least a slight interest in. It's this interest or passion that will ultimately push you through the days of low sales or technical issues.2. There are a billion hacks you can use to make your listings rank higher, store look prettier, drop shipping run smoother - research and utilize as many as you can, they WILL save you thousands of dollars and a lot of time.3. Systematize as much as you can - the reason why Amazon selling sometimes fails, is because the sellers gets over it because they have to manage too many processes and it doesn't work out to be a very good $ per minute of work rate. Systematize and Outsource as fast as you can.4. The way to make BIG money is to constantly sell what people (the masses) are searching for. Don't spend hours of time researching products, just start stocking what ever the newest craze is. Use Trendosaur or Terrapeak to see what the next top selling product will be and stock up on it. Trendosaur showed us the selfie sticks about 2 months before the craze blew up here in the US and we ended up making$65,000 Revenue in one month.5. Money doesn't make you happy. Meaningful interpersonal relationships do. (Nothing to do with online businesses I know, but I just wanted to throw it in there).

How can I deal with the fact I'm graduating super late from college?

Graduating is what matters.....nothing less.  Early or late or when the heck ever.  Just thank your lucky stars you make this huge accomplishment with all the stress and hard work and late hours and sleepless nights and falling asleep at work and worrying about money and, and, and.  That is major.  Really major. I think you want a little kudos and no ones is giving you any right now.  Well, consider yourself praised.  Do you know that people graduate from college at age 72?  Yep 72 years old and proud of it and they go out there and get a job and do just fine. You will do fine.  Make that resume and be proud of you.  You should reach around right now and pat yourself on the back and tell yourself what a great accomplishment this is for you and now you will just do great things as you already have.  OKAY! Every time you get scared write us here and let us encourage you to do great things.

Is graduating a semester late really bad?

I feel so depressed. I'm supposed to be class of 2013, all of my friends are going to graduate college next Spring and I just calculated everything and it's going to take me until December '13 to get my degree. I already factored in summer courses. I took time off and goofed around for two years and now the consequences are finally hitting me. I'm literally going to have to be taking 18 units for 6 semesters straight (summer ones included) to even get to December.

It's such a long, miserable road ahead and everyone's going to think I'm a loser. Help me? :(

Is it okay to graduate late?

It is fine to graduate "late".  The term is completely subjective to a certain degree based on expectations.  On the university level, many people do not start until they are mature students, and it takes them longer to graduate because they work full time.  Does this make them inferior to their peers?  No.  It just makes them different. If I was concerned about it, I'd have an explanation prepared for any potential job interviews.  "I took 12 credits rather than 15 or 18 because I was working part time to pay for my education." or "I took an extra semester because I was very involved with extracurriculars.  These helped prepare me for this job more than classes, because I learned these skills."  It is just an issue of selling yourself right if it might be an issue.
