Where should I drill holes in my muffler to make it sound deep and pop/gurgle?
I would like to know if anyone knows where to drill holes in your muffler for the deepest sound and also to make popping sounds when you rev it and such. I'd like it if people can post pictures or videos so I can visualize it. Also: How big should the holes be and how many?

How do i make my exhaust louder?
After the catalytic converter there is a flange with two bolts. Cut the exhaust as close to the muffler as possible, after the flange and add a cherry bomb thrush exhaust. It allows more air to escape and will give your car a decent sound. Go to autopartswarehouse.com and they are like 17 bucks. If you wanted to you could also use the existing pipes after the muffler to reattach and go to the rear like a normal exhaust (may cut down sound a bit but not too much. This is the cheapest way to do it. Cost 25 bucks and you can do it your self.
What can i do to make my SUV sound louder?
It is illegal to purposely drill holes in your muffler (the big round part of it), but hell! it's a 1997! someone owned it before you, and maybe someone else did it? you wouldn't break the law! it's really bait but thats the old school way, trust me you'll get the roar, but cops with bad attitudes or bad wives will enjoy pulling you over and ticketing you for it, which usually comes with a 48 hr window to replace it, or have your car removed from the road. it will cost you less if you live in a city with lots of one time to buy a tip for your exhaust, or replace you exhaust with bigger piping and a nice muffler. shop around man you can find one for less than 300$. often local muffler shops can make you something nice for not too much. luck.
