How Does Permanent Hair Straightening Work

Is permanent hair straightening bad for your hair?

It can sound funny but I will be honest with you. I went for the permanent straightening almost every year. I was obsessed with poker straight hair. I know you want to know how my hair reacted to these treatments. It did no harm except for it made my hair thinner. The side effects were not that harsh but at the end you mess up with your natural hair and these are chemical treatments.I took a great care of my hair like using sulphate free shampoos and using deep conditioning method. I took the hair vitamins. I took care of my diet. Trust me it does help. If you are going for rebonding every year, take a gap of atleast an year and take good care of your hair. Focus on improving the quality of your hair and the results will be much better. The best home made remedy to get straight hair is to use a pack of multani mitti and curd every week. You won’t get poker straight hair but it does a decent job of giving you smooth and silky hair.Going natural is the best thing for the long term. Think about it. :)Hair smoothening: Things no hair stylist will tell you ( my story )

How does permanent hair straightening work?

I've heard that once it's permanently straightened that heat won't affect the hair at all, so you cannot curl it or anything. And if that's true then you also wouldn't be able to blow dry it into any shape? Like you couldn't use a round brush to blow dry bangs? I just want clarification if that's true.

I've also heard that there is different kinds of permanent ways to straighten and if someone could explain the differences between those that'd be awesome!

How does permanent hair straightening, for short hair, cost?

I had once done hair straightening from a saloon which it was for 6 months guarantee that the hair will remain straight ,it costed me 2000rs for just getting hair straightening. For other hair products like shampoo, conditioner it costed around 1000rs.I also asked in Green Trends saloon and they told it will cost around 4.5 thousand and a guarantee for 1year.But my suggestion is not to go for hair straitening chemically because it will effect the growth of hair and damages it and oftenly the hair fall occurs. So think twice or thrice before u go for saloon to get it straightened. This is my straightened hair after 5–6months when I decided to get it balded, the last pic I took. Thanks for reading.

Permanent hair straightening?

Straitening your hair isn't a safe thing, truthfully, it damages your hair strands, you just have to take it care of because you hair will become more sensitive once it's straitened...

All of these are the same things basically, the Japanese leaves it really strait but once it's wet it get curly again...Relaxer and Brazilian and Strait perm are all basically the same thing--I've tried lots of them, they do the same thing--it makes you curls much more "manageable" however it will become more prone to damage so you REALLY have to take care of it. Like not wetting it a lot or heating it so much, and using lots of treatments too.
These typically last for about three months, which is when you're hair roots will most be noticeable which will be curly unlike the strait part--so then you get it redone...

Does permanent hair straightening really damages the hair?

Hair straightening is very common in fashion these days. All young girls and boys are going after it without even knowing the damages that are caused by the heat and chemicals.Hair straightening is a part of fashion and hair styling these days. However, it is also true that hair is susceptible to chemicals and heat, which is applied to straighten frizzy hair. It happens that straightening of hair does more damage than benefit to your hair. So, you should be aware of the potential damage that hair straightening does to you.  Hair can be straightened at home or in salon. In any case the straightening is done on temporary basis and so it is done repeatedly. Chemicals are used for straightening hair in salons along with hair dryers and straightening irons. The curlier the hair is, more these products are used and the damage done is comparatively more.Effects  The actual effect of the chemicals and the dryers is that they make the hair dry and that makes it brittle. The hair can get extremely damaged and in some cases they get burnt also. The negative effects that occur are relatively much higher than the other styling done to your hair.  If you are choosing hair straightening process done at home, select the dryer or the straightener that is based on ionic systems. The main reason is that their heating surface is non-sticky and causes less damage to the hair.Precautions  Use the dryer and straightener occasionally and sparingly. Make sure your hair is conditioned, dry and you should also coat it with heat protective product before you use a straightening iron. Make certain that the iron is not too hot and apply it to hair in small portions. It is better to move the iron gently down the hair and then leave it slowly. If the outcome is below your satisfaction level, you can follow the process all over again. But never ever stop the iron on any part of the hair. If someone is facing more hair loss or with baldness related issues then consult a good hair doctor. Hair transplant is a procedure to treat hair loss problem. You can get the best hair transplant in Delhi at affordable cost.

How much does permanently straightening your hair cost at a salon?

Well i wouldn't really recommend getting your hair permanently straightened.
i think it's a bad idea because my friend got hers done and her was just all flat.
It had no volume and you couldn't make it have more volume.
But if you're hair is hard to handle then go for it.(:
Mostly the price is different in every salon depending on the type it is.
So it's about $165.00, depending on the salon. The process takes about 3 hours. It is not permanent. It may last up to 6 months.
You can get it Japanese straightened but that costs about 400 dollars and works for about 6 months too.
But seriously you can straighten your hair all by yourself.Do it yourself read some useful hair straightening tips and more on this site to help you with it:

Chi permanent straightening?

your hair sounds like a good candiate for it!
[i have the same kind of hair as you.]
it makes your hair SUPER SUPER pin straight!

PROS:
- super straight hair!
- really glossy/shiny
- soft hair that "wraps" down your shoulder
- its permanent

CONS:
- it's kind of expensive
- hard to keep in a ponytail
- when your roots grow in it's gonna look like crap cause the bottom part of your hair is straight and the roots are frizzy
- that means you'll have to re-do the roots every so often OR grow your hair out which will take quite a while.
