Advertising revenue is shared between YouTube and the Video creator in a 60-40 ratio respectively through the YouTube Partner Program (YPP).According to this program, once a channel reaches a defined threshold, one can enable monetization. Doing so will yield ads on the videos and for every ad impression, the creator will be paid. The advertiser pays YouTube to run these ads, and YouTube in turn pays the creator of the video. How hard is it to make a video sharing site like Liveleak or Youtube?

I have a good idea for a video site but have not idea where to start. I've had web sites before but that was just for selling stuff. I want this to be videos that users can upload and all that.

Is there a way to see who shares your youtube video on facebook (or buzz, twitter, etc.)?

I know that several people had shared my youtube video via facebook, twitter, etc. and I'm glad that they are doing that, but I am wondering if there's a way for me to see who exactly is sharing my video? I know of twitter I can search for my video and sometimes I will see any recent posts, but it's being most commonly shared on facebook...but I cannot figure out how to see who on facebook is sharing my videos. Is there a link on the Youtube site that I can go to to check who's sharing my videos, or a way to search for it on youtube? I have a feeling that I cannot see who's sharing my videos on facebook unless I am friends with them.
Any suggestions would help! Thanks

Why doesn't Facebook allow sharing of YouTube videos anymore?

You can still post the link from youtube.  Find the video you like on Page on youtube.com, then click share, and copy the link.  You can paste that in Facebook posts and it will provide a link in your post.  I believe you will find that the stopping of allowing youtube videos likely stopped about the time that Facebook started to allow uses to post videos directly up to Facebook as an alternate to YouTube.

How does revenue sharing for copyrighted content on YouTube work? Can I make money this way?

The word “sharing” is misleading. You give all of the ad revenue for that video to the musical artist whose song you used, and they share the song with you instead of having your video blocked. No, you will not be able to make any ad revenue yourself from this arrangement. So if that is a goal, you are going to have to use no music or music you have permission to use.Or try this Quora answer: Where can I find royalty-free background music for inclusion in videos and short films?
