How Does The Newsfeed Work On Instagram I Am Afraid I Followed Someone Who I Didnt Want To.

If you accidentally follow someone on Instagram and then unfollow them a few seconds later, will they still know you followed them?

Well it seems someone was silently stalking on one's profile when he/she by mistakenly touched the follow button and let the user know that a stalker was here!Anyways, if you accidently followed someone and quickly unfollowed them a few seconds later, they won't be able to know about it if and only if they're not online i.e. using Instagram at that moment. As it will quickly pop up a follow notification and then can see who followed them. If you've unfollowed the user by that time then the notification will be gone unless and until they refresh it. But if you've unfollowed them before the user access his/her notification panel then it won't show up.You're saved because Instagram doesn't send follower push-up notification to your mobile device rather only likes and photo tag notifications are sent.In that case, if the user would have marked your username in the push-up notification and while viewing his/her IG notification panel he/she doesn't find you as a follower then they might look up for your profile by searching your username. So watch your steps when you stalk!

Why do people not follow other people back on Instagram?

Because people are self-absorbed, narcissistic and live in their own little universe. It’s an unspoken social media rule to follow people back, especially on Instagram where everyone is out there to share their art, food, or their own images.I have unfollowed most people who never bothered to check out my work though I have been religiously liking, commenting and appreciating their work. It’s common sense that when someone takes effort to like more than 5–6 images, you are only being kind by returning the favor. The only community of people who genuinely comment on my work are wildlife photographers. And, I reciprocate. Since then, I try to follow only wildlife photographers. It’s frustrating to follow such people, especially the Indian women food bloggers. They think people have a lot of free time to just like their images and not expect anything in return. Not sure what they think of themselves.

Why do people follow you then unfollow you on instagram?

At first, I assumed it's because some people have private accounts and people only follow to see the content then unfollow when they done.

But people do this with unprivate accounts...what's the point?
That same person they unfollowed can very easily unfollow them back. Isn't it kind of a stupid move?

Plus, unless the person is famous, many people are hesitant to follow someone who's got more followers than he's following.
So what's the benefit?
What are they gaining lol?

If you accept a follow request on Instagram, do you automatically follow the other person back?

Nope not at all! This will only happen if you explicitly go to that profile and follow them as well. The way Instagram is designed makes profiles act like a hybrid between Facebook pages/groups and profiles in a sort of way. You need to follow someone to be able to see their profile if it’s made private (like sending a friend request or a join request for a closed group) while public profiles are kind of like Facebook pages in that anyone basically can see and interact with them!Hope this helped :D

How do you remove ghost followers on Instagram?

Before I move on to answering the question I think it is important for everyone to understand what a ghost follower is and why it is important to have very few of them.A ghost follower is a follower that hasn’t engaged with you in any way for a reasonable amount of time. This means that whenever you post a picture you will appear very far down their news feed as Instagram interprets their lack of engagement as a lack of interest in your content.Since ghost followers don’t usually ever even see your posts in their newsfeed the chances of them engaging with you are extremely slim. This therefore will reduce your engagement rate. The instagram algorithm, views a diminished engagement rate as a sign that your account’s content is not worth displaying on peoples feeds and explore pages. After all if a big portion of your followers are not engaging with your content, why would non-followers engage with it.Hence, in order to recognise ghost followers you can use many applications. However, the one I recommend is called “Cleaner for IG” :Cleaner for IG iconThis app will not only recognise fake followers very accurately but also delete them quickly.

Does switching to a business profile on Instagram affect ranking of posts in the newsfeed algorithm?

This is a great question and I actually always wondered this myself…until now.I just watched an Instagram webinar for my company last night and found out that IG changed their algorithm yet again. It seems like they are getting more and more like facebook. Go figure…Instagram is owned by facebook.anyway…I learned that IG actually frowns apon using a personal account for business now (just like FB) because with your account you are pretending to be something that you are not. So IG is trying to encourage all entrepreneurs to use a business account instead because that is why they created the option for us in the first place. So don’t be surprised that when you create a business post on IG it gets less engagement than the rest of your content that has nothing to do with business.Long story short. They want to keep a personal account for those of us who want to just share life and funny memes. IG supports small businesses so they encourage us to switch to a business account because that is why they created it.I wouldn’t be surprised that in the near future you could end up in “IG Jail” for posting business content on a personal account just like you would in FB for posting business stuff on your personal account.I hope this helps answer your question. If you have any more questions on this or IG I would be happy to help. I will actually be doing my own Instagram for business webinar this week.So if anyone would be interested in attending I would be happy to have you attend along with my team.BTW it will be free
