How Does The Puppy Feel When It Pees In The Crate

6 month old puppy still peeing in crate?

I love my puppy and do not want to give him away.My puppy is six months old and pees in his crate every single day and its becoming like a habit like that where he pees when it shouldn't be. I take him out a lot and when ever someone comes in the door he pees and he's 6 months old and I should have to take him out every 15 minutes when he's in his crate when someone walks In.But when he's out with me he won't have no accidents only in crate.... How do I get him to stop and fully potty trained?????

Why does my 13 week old mastiff pee all the time when not crated (every 30 minutes)? No accidents at night.?

I got him when he was 12 weeks old and up until that time he lived outside in a kennel where he went as he pleased. He shouldnt pee that often right? He'll last about 7.5 hours at night (no whining) and go outside without much rush and do his business.

The only thing I can do to fix it is take him out, play for 25 minutes, put him away for 30, take him out, repeat. I suspect a UTI, but could it be that he just thinks he can go whenever he wants still? I firmly say bad pee for inside accidents and I applaud outside with "good pee boy!!"

It cant be that bad of a UTI if it even is one and I know its easy to just go to the vet, but with no crate accidents or whining at night to pee, I just feel there is something at home I can do first instead of being the worried parent that goes to the emergency room for a sneeze.

So is it a UTI or a behavioral problem from being an outside dog before? Furthermore, I'd like him to drink more water. Anything I can do to it to make him drink more?

How do I stop my puppy from peeing under his blanket in his crate?

Take the blanket out of his crate. House breaking a puppy has what might be called rules. If you do things that are incompatible with your puppy learning then you are essentially sabotaging the whole process. There are many decent books out there that you can reference for this.Dog training can be a breeze or a complete nightmare which goes on forever. If you’re after quick results give this a read: Dog Training 101: How to Completely Train Your Dog – Millie Hensworth – MediumBronwyn Miller’s answer to How do I get my 11-week-old puppy to stop pooping all over my house? I’ve been trying to catch him in the act and quickly bring him out, but it doesn’t seem to be working at all.Puppies have small, weak bladders. They havent mastered muscle control. Its nothing to do with intelligence or disobedience, they are just very young animals. They need to be taken out every single time they: eat, drink, play (10 minutes playing usually gets the bowel/bladder working), sleep, feel excited, feel scared, feel unsure, sit around doing nothing, are petted or given attention. EVERYTHING on earth makes their bowel and bladder go, when theyre that young.

My puppy pees in the car?

I sounds like you suspect this is an anxiety issue. So build positive associations with the car. For the next few days, take her to the car to eat. She can eat next to the car the first couple of meals, then put her meal inside the car and encourage her to climb in on her own to get to it. Be prepared to up the ante and make the meals exceptionally delicious. It's okay to give her a little people food if it's just for a few days for this training. Liver can be quite effective.

When she is willing to jump in the car happily on her own, get in with her, turn the engine off, pet and praise her while the engine is on, then turn it off and take her back to the house. Repeat this several times throughout the day. Again, we are trying to build positive associations with the sound and vibration of the motor.

As the other answerers suggested, make sure to empty her out before you plan to actually go someplace, and build up the length of trips slowly. You can also do a lot to control how full her bladder is by putting her on a schedule. Here's a sample puppy schedule. If you stick to a schedule you can eventually accurately predict when her bladder will be full, and when to expect it to be less full.

Why can my puppy hold his bladder at night but not when crated during the day?

The first poster is blasted! lol NEVER use a crate as a form of punishment.

Well he's 6 months old - so he's still a puppy and he is a small dog, so accidents are bound to happen because their bladders are smaller than larger breeds.
Part of the reason he holds it better at night is because he's sleeping - so he's not craving to get out or anything like that.

It's good that you control his food/water intake before crating and you take him for potty breaks. Yes he might be frustrated that he's in the crate during the day - but if that's your only way of keeping him out of trouble, then too bad for him! lol
Is the crate too big for him? That could cause accidents.

Have you tried keeping him in a bedroom to see what happens? Just remove anything he can get himself into, and if you're really worried about an accident you could leave a pee pad.
I'm an advocate for outdoor potty training, but I understand with smaller dogs that have to be by themselves all day - it might not be an option all the time.
I also don't believe that a dog can't learn to potty outside and on a pad. My dog was doing that during his early potty training stages.
