How Does This Version Of Hell Sound For A Story

Does Heaven sound too good to be true?? Does Hell sound too bad to be true?

Earlier i was informed that when something sounds too good to be true, its probably not true.
But really, Doesn't it just sound like a total appeal to the dreams of mankind. (Heaven)
Also, most of the descriptions of heaven is always earth like. Hmmm...
Streets of Gold!! (Why?)
Lakes of Wine!!! (Why?) (But Sweet!!)
Young forever!!! (Awesome!!)
Live forever!! (Awesome!!)

Ya.. Too good to be true.
Just a thought.

What would hell sound like?

Interesting question.I guess first, we would have to establish which view of Hell we are talking about.  Given my background and personal beliefs I really can't comment on any view but the Christian one.  Descriptions of Hell vary throughout the Bible but the unifying element of all the pictures (to my understanding) is that Hell is a place isolated from the presence of God; a place of quarantine for those who have chosen separation over redemption.  It can't be overemphasized enough that our presence in  Hell is a choice that we make for ourselves.  God sends exactly zero people to Hell and, as stated, in scripture, our choosing to be there is against God's will and breaks His heart.Visual imagery of Hell is pretty to find in the Bible but the sounds are a bit more elusive.  In the Book of Matthew, Hell is a place where we can hear the sounds of wailing and gnashing of teeth.  The reason for the wailing is most likely all-consuming sorrow and regret for having chosen to be in Hell rather than in God's presence in Heaven.   Gnashing of teeth, to me, would indicate the overwhelming fear caused by being in a place devoid of the solace that the presence of God brings.   Finally, Hell as mentioned above is a place of quarantine.  Think of it as a giant solitary confinement, which I think is an apt image. This makes sense given the personalities of various of the occupants.  Honestly, would you really want to be in a place where people like Hitler and Stalin or, say, Jack the Ripper are roaming free?  And they would be the tip of the iceberg.  Far greater horrors like demons, the Watchers, the Fallen Ages and Lucifer himself would be present.  The isolation, then, serves to keep the inmates from harming each other.  Cut off from God's light, Hell will be a place of eternal, impenetrable darkness where  the inhabitants of Hell are left alone with their thoughts for eternity.  Given that repentance is no longer possible it seems natural that soul-rending rage and terror and agony would be the sounds heard.   Really, in my opinion, I would give it a pass unless you're a fan of the concept of 24/7 lock down forever. It seems Hell will be short on parties and bar-be-ques and hedonistic games of beach volleyball and long on soul-crushing remorse and terror and alone-ness.  Best not to bother, really.

Okay so me and a friend were talking over msn then we decided to find the best scary stories or legends on youtube in spirit of halloween (no pun intended) i was skimming through some videos and this one popped up and seriously made me tear up with fear. I'm Native American and we have a whole different belief system then Caucasians do - not the point the point is does anybody out there have any idea if the "Siberian Hell Recording Dig Site" is true or not? the story goes in 1940-1950 a digging company was taking measurements of a mine site in Siberia (or some say Russia) and the were at 14.4 KM into the earths surface when there drill bit started to spin wildly meaning they hit a pocket of air, cavern so they stopped the drilling and sent down a special sensitive microphone to record plates moving for the next 19-21 seconds of recording shocked and disturbed the diggers they heard not just one but millions of screams from humans in agony the temperature gage read out well over 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit before it melted the microphone set

Are the Siberian drilling hell sounds legit?? what do Atheists think?

another person asked a question that mentioned it and I was curious so I looked it up and now Im totally intrigued, so far all the articles Ive read confirm that this was completely real and the recording are legitimate (listen to them on Youtube, truly creepy) the drilling also found that the center of Earth was indeed hollow and an inferno at 2,000 degrees. what do you think of this? I know as a Christian I have no trouble believing they were screams from hell but I'd like to hear what Atheists think (as well as everyone else)

Is the book "I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell" as good as it sounds?

I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell is a book of autobiographical short stories about sex and drinking adventures written by Tucker Max.It has sold over one million copies worldwide, including 400,000 copies in 2009 alone.Composed of short stories narrated by the author, the book often focuses on the narrator's humorous excess. The stories deal with themes such as the author's views on women, drinking (often to excess), insulting people, and embarrassing sexual encounters. If that appeals to your sense of humor, you will enjoy the book.

How can there be two totally different perceptions of a story like Dante’s Inferno that sounds so ancient and boring that I never had an interest in reading it and the Dante's Inferno anime that was extremely edgy?

As far as I am aware, Dante did not take any part in neither directing, not screenwriting for that anime. I seriously doubt he even saw it to say it has stayed true to what he said in his one and only version of La Comedia.Anything that is not a written La Comedia, is not really Dante’s La Comedia, but a vision of other people. They may or may not have been able to stay true to the original work. Some of the translations are pretty good. Some less so. Adaptation into an animation is quite some stretch, so while I have not seen that anime, somehow I doubt it’s the same body of work.Being boring is a matter of opinion. La Comedia being one of the greatest works of writing, humanity has ever seen on paper is a fact.

How do native speakers of English say the 's-th' sounds, as in 'What's the story’?

Important note: Native English speakers have a lot of regional accents. The largest variety may be in England, where it all started, but in addition Australians sound different from United States New Englanders who sound different from US southerners who sound different from Canadians who sound different from people from Long Island near New York City… As far as I can judge, though, I have one of the relatively “neutral” accents, so I’ll do my best with your question.First of all, in all your examples the “s” is pronounced like a “z”. “Th” is a single sound (what linguists call a “dental fricative”, meaning it’s made by letting air flow through a tiny gap between the tongue and the upper front teeth) - as far as I know, English, Icelandic, and Greek are the only languages that use this sound, and it’s very hard for people whose native languages are anything else to say “th”, and probably also hard to hear it as a distinct sound. (So don’t worry if you can’t get it right - we know it’s a challenge, and we make allowances.)To answer your question at last - we don’t exactly pause between the two sounds, but they don’t blur into each other either. So all of your examples sound like “z th. To you, they may sound more like “z d” or “z t” or “z v” or “z f” - d, t, v, and f are the sounds non-native speakers often use instead of th.
